My mom loved this song! She would sing along with it when we heard it on the radio. She loved the lyrics. She loved the South and lived in Birmingham and Mississippi for a portion of her life. She loved the line about Southern Belles....always laughed a little. I asked her why, and she said I was too young to understand. Of course, it embarrassed me at the age of 15 that she loved this song so much, but I'm glad for the great memory today. And, gosh, I love the song, too.
Heard this on Radio 2 today and brought back so many lovely memories of happier times !.in 76 I was 15 when life was so simple but so good. Moonlight feels right ✅ 💜💜
I was leaving Walmart this am, this mellow track piped out over the outdoor speakers, I thought wow, I haven't heard this song, since I was a teen. My spirit was flooded with memories from a beautiful, sweet, innocent time!! My body swayed to indelible thoughts of a time less volatile!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. GOD BLESS, keep us all!!!!!!
😮.. I was 10 years old .. living in a little town out in the far lands of Southern Texas .. I would sit in my dad’s old Chevy pickup .. watching the beautiful stars listening to 70’s music .. this was one of my favorites ❤️❤️❤️
Bruce Blackman, Starbuck in my opinion wrote the very best songs in the 70's, I grew up listening to your Music, even my 2 kids love your music and they are 15 and 9, thank you for the music, it is timeless, long live Starbuck.
God Bless The Heavenly 70's!!!!!!!!!!!! Music was Awesome back in the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They don't even have Groups like Starbuck anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Generation was Blessed with Pure Music/Funk/Rock!!!!!!!! Love this Version!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ready 4 A Wet Kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, this brings me right back to summer of '76. I was 20 (class of 74!), had a bitchin' '65 GTO, working in a machine shop, had a hot girlfriend, money in my pocket, a little weed, bar hopping, windows down and the radio cranking. Best times of my life!
This song, and Afternoon Delight remind me of the best years of my life. 1975-1977. If only I could go back for one day. The music, cars, and girls. Those were the days.
And the South had a lot of great ones but this is my favorite. There is even a new band called The Explorers Club that is from the South and they also play a 60's, 70's soft sound like this.
Summer 76 in the UK was amazing, long hot summer day's as a 14 year old this is the song that to me was that summer, carefree without a care in the world, summer holidays from school, what a great time to be alive.
A teenage girl around 17 or 18 in 1976, sitting on the middle console of a white Mako Shark Corvette with my sister as the passenger and the another guy driving, of course with the T-tops off!!! I actually remember this song playing on the radio while we were driving the boulevard with that heavy duty engine vibrating in my ears!!! I was on top of the world. Thanks for this wonderful and cherished memory that I will never ever forget!
Thanks for sharing your fabulous memory! This was the first 45 I ever bought! (Then I bought everything else of Starbuck). Imagine if there was video of what you described; how fun it would be for you and us to watch it!

So glad I happened upon this song. It sounds just as good today as it did in the seventies. If only we could go back to those good old days. When all we had was good music and Good times! This world has changed so much it makes me want to go back to the good old days. Everyone please stay safe and take care.
Sad part is like the old saying, you can never go home, we can't go back in time. The ironic thing is young people now don't believe this country and the times we lived were ever good. But I'm right there with you, I'd love to go back for some things, but we probably all have things we're glad are behind us!
Love this extended version. I have not heard this song since early 1976, when it first came out. And 41 years later (2017), come here on TH-cam to find it. As much as I liked this song, never owned it on the 45rpm at least, but I have it now. Yes, I still have my vinyls, and play them today.

1976! Bicentennial year. July 4, 1976 was a true blast. Summer of 1976 was great for all who lived through it. Hot Summer nights, breezy sunny days, clear blue skies in the morning. 45¢ a gallon gas, 10¢ Coke's, Pepsi's, RC colas. 10¢ Hostess pies, Snicker's, Frito's, Lay's potato chip's, Zingers. 65¢ Big Mac, Whopper, Arbys roast beef. 5¢ a scoop Thriftys ice cream cones. $1 drive in movies. If you lived it, specially as a teenager, it was Paradise. America was still great. Great country, great people, great time, great era, great food, drink and music. Never to return again.
Oh those balmy summer nights. Car windows down listening to this easy listening beautiful song. From Virginia near the Chesapeake Bay breeze. Watching the stars at night, graduated college in 1974, and southern belles are "heaven" at night!!

What got me back into this song in particular was the "70's" channel on SiriusXM started it in their rotation about 6 months ago and the two things I can't get out of my head is that incredibly smooth and sensual voice of Bruce Blackman... just awesome lyrics and of course the Marimba. It's an extremely exotic beach song... real spacey/unique... way ahead of their time. A righteous remix and re-release would be an excellent idea, not just live performances. Get this song back in circulation with today's tech and introduce it to the world.
I remember listening to this song while traveling from Ohio to California in my parents 1975 Chevy Suburban in the summer of 1976. This song played on every AM station as we traveled across the country and through the plains and desert of New Mexico and Arizona. Great times! Great trip! Now I play this song 45 years later as I make that same trip as an adult.

Oh wow, what a great song. I love it, haven't thought of this tune in a long time. Makes me smile, I was 18 years old in summer of 1976. in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My best friend Glen bought a 1968 Chevrolet Impala convertible in July. One of the first times myself & my girl friend Brenda got a ride in Glen's Impala that car's radio was on & this wonderful song was playing on 14 CFUN AM. Top down, cruising in that Impala was wonderful. Wish I could be living in those carefree times. I get so chill thinking about that summer of 1976. Our American neighbours across the border were celebrating the American Bicentennial. Myself, my friends & family were doing so well in summer of 1976. This tune time portals me back all those years. Thanks for posting Starbuck - Moonlight Feels Right.
I was 13 when this song first came out. It is still my all time favorite tune, future synth with awesome Xylophone/Marimba. I remember listening to this just before we went down into the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel, under the Chesapeake bay on our way to Washington DC... actually a twenty state summer trip. Awesome time in my life, best memories to date.
Say what! Absolutely the best in cruising music--heard this first in 1977 on a road trip from San Bernardino to LA! Forgot about the traffic and just relaxed.
Listening to this song will always remind me of Summer in the mid 1970’s driving with the family on our summer vacation destination! Ensenada, Mexico😀 Then back to Chula Vista, San Diego with family for a week of adventure.🥳
Reminds me of the summer of ‘76! I was 8 years old! Hanging out at the park, swimming in the city pool with my neighborhood friends and going to Magic Mountain! Wish I could go back

This is when Music was so great!! Bruce Blackman thank you for the great memories I have with Starbuck listening to I got to know heading to Lake Tahoe...Priceless! They need to rerelease this CLASSIC FROM 76..YES MOONLIGHT ALWAYS FEELS RIGHT😃😃
I’m remember hearing this as 12 year old in Am radio NYC. It’s a feel good song to kick back with bottle of wine 🍷 at beach watching the sunset 🌅
Feel good music.....love the 70's❗
The Best of Times. I was a kid but it was a different World. More Wholesome.

I was born too late, but that sounds ultra fine! 🪩 💃🏻🕺🏻❤️🔥
Couldn't have said this any better. Growing up in Maryland. Going to Ocean City in 1970's .
Been in Baltimore all my Life... Maryland... love Ocean City... I am a 1975 er

Bonito tema... Cuantos recuerdos...

I first heard this song in a CVS, I did a Google search, here I am. I like this song, it's different from any song I've ever heard.
+Timika Clay The up beat, keyboard & xylophone make it one of those songs that "get stuck in your head!! "
I agree,..there really is nothing out there quite like this,..maybe POCO,...
Silent Bethlehem Born in 68 kind a wish I was born 10 years earlier but 70s and 80s I think are the best
