I realized this game rewards bad defense and off balling .. the shooting is so inconsistent but the layups are so OP that it makes rim running the only option.. it’s boring to play against.
Yeah it definitely promotes off balling especially w how ass the shooting is. My career players have the luxury of having to only memorize one jump shot. Meanwhile MyTeam and PlayNow Online players have to not only worry abt learning multiple jumpshots, but also multiple shot variables for each jumpshot..

There’s a defensive 3 second glitch in this game, I’ve seen Celtics players camp with porzingis the entire game in the paint and the referees never call three seconds

I noticed if you make an defensive adjustment like matchups it messes everything up matchup wise on the player you put the defender on is not in the game anymore causing (Trent on nurk and giannis on beal)

I respect the choice to make the game “more realistic” with players shooting lower %. I just have a problem with how they chose to go abt it. There needs to be a skill gap. Games rn are being decided by who gets the most luck (as long as they can somewhat shoot)
My biggest issue is them randomly messing up the matchups after a time out or ending of a quarter…cost em few timeouts or even games because It don’t register the “x switch” in time 🤬🤬🤬🤬
The changing team is so annoying. Guy started with a tier 2 team, so I picked the Clippers and he switched to the Celtics the last second (this has happened to me two more times so far, with the Celtics specifically). I still beat him and he rage quit at the start of the 2nd quarter lol. Also Dame is horrible in 2K25. Probably the worst superstar I've tried so far. No good dribble moves, useless go-to shot, he's slow, his shooting animations are slow and he has zero defense.
I like the contest system( not for layups) but their killing small ball with how hard shooting is. If they balance paint defence the game will be so much better, I think they want us to click block but it’s so easy to foul in this game. So if we don’t green the block we’re cooked

The “rng” is due to a number of factors such as the catch, contest, how your player is moving before you take the shot such as walking then shooting or any movement etc. the speed can be slightly changed by a number of factors but the green window is always in the same spot of the shot animation no matter how fast or slow the show is. 2ktutes was just stating that’s why the green windows can be different if you take the same shots same circumstance every time and you green it everytime you’ll make it the amount of time your jumpers make percentage allows. Some jumpers have a higher make percentage then others. This isn’t a fact this is jump an example let’s say Curry’s jumper has a 93% make percentage and you take 100 shots and you green all of them you’ll make anywhere from 85-95 of the 100 shots because of the 93% make percentage even if you green all 100 of the shots. Let’s say for example Lebrons jumper has a 88% make percentage you have a 88% chance to make it when you green it thigh sometimes it will say slightly late or early even if you green it because of the jumpers make percentage. There’s very slight rng from that but most jumpers have above 70-90+% make percentage and also badges boost make percentage and green window to so it’s rarely even a factor. Usually if someone misses its to them mistiming the shot obviously or they time it right for what would be a stand still set shot but since the catch or movement or context or etc. makes the shot speed up or slow down and it ends up being a slightly late or early. Even though they released it the right time for if it was a set still shot. Hopefully you understand if not I can explain more if needed.

If a player rises up for a contest on a layup, IRL the player would have to adjust in the air. So layups shouldn’t be blocks or bucket everytime. A good contest can certainly affect a players layup IRL

The green window was consistent in 2k24
Moving the green window is weird, if you want some realistic shooting make it samller or if you want some protection against zenners make something different BUT MOVE IT? It is wild.

It be a .00001% difference in the animation dawg 😂 the only real difference is when players fatigued or 2K does a BS pass animation. But majority of my catch and shoots all look the same so therefore when I shoot it should feel the same. Give me my pure green window back
