Love you two. The nicest couple doing cruise videos! Holland America is my favourite cruise line. Relaxed, great food, fantastic staff. None of the excesses and screaming children. Hope to see you on a cruise sometime!
Holland America is our favourite cruise line. Just returned from a 21 day Panama Canal cruise. Never boring. There is as much, or as little, as you may choose to do. Love the food, service, thermal suite, and the staff. A great experience. The ships are a nice size and we don’t need, or want, roller coasters or water slides. The itineraries and comfortable ships keep bringing us back.
My wife and I are thinking about a cruise for our 45th. We've watched so many different youtube presenters- and most of them are good but we watch yours religiously because we like you. Don't change a thing. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this! HAL is definitely high on our list. We have heard a lot of great things about them! Glad to see you guys had such a great time.
Hi Paul and Carole, (retired nurse) Brenda here from Vancouver Island. We were on the Oosterdam with you and I enjoyed a lovely pool side chat with you two on our “at sea” day you showed in this video. We’ve been enjoying your videos of the trip and revisiting our cruise and look forward to the rest of them. Also enjoyed your other cruise videos. Keep travelling you two and if you come back to BC I’ll show you around our island!
What a fantastic video, Paul and Carole! 🌊 Your exploration of Holland America’s offerings, especially the vibrant Orange Party Night and Dutch Dinner, really brings the cruise experience to life. With over 5,700 views in just a couple of days, it’s clear that viewers are loving your insights! Keep up the great work sharing your travel adventures! 🚢✨
We just returned from a 14 day cruise on Niew Statendam. Athens to Rome. We sailed on Koningsdam about a year ago and loved the experience. Since then, we sailed on the Sun Princess in the Med and Majestic Princess to Cabo San Lucas from Los Angeles. We are now certain that we prefer HAL over Princess. It's the little things. The staff is the best. We just live the laundry service. The best part is the food. Even the quality of wine by the glass is superior.
Really enjoyed seeing you both exploring HAL in this episode! Personally, I really enjoyed my sea days on Rotterdam, but one thing I was really surprised with on this cruise line was the average age. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was waaaay higher than I'd thought it would be!
Tip for eating a tompouce: remove the top pastry layer and either eat it on its own or transfer it to the bottom of the tompouce (frosting side down). Now when you use your fork the pudding won't squeeze out on all sides.
Really enjoying following your experiences on board. Completely agree with being able to enjoy evening when it's hot, but BOY was it hot during the days!! I think i'm starting to convert to fly cruises (slowly).
Loved your video of relaxing sea day. As per usual Paul's 'special long stick' shots are fantastic. Aren't you afraid of it falling into the sea or is it attached to him in some way? Got back from Cunard QA yesterday and it was absolutely fabulous my grandson and I loved the entertainment (especially Queens room orchestra and singers) and food and the 'pre covid' bed turn down and choc on pillow, but only downside was we had twin inside cabin with TV on wall at side of one bed - that was the only critisism of cruise tho. Can't wait for 2026 patreons cruise on QV to see older style Cunard ships. 😊🏭
Havent been on a Holland America ship for quite a while but as NCL cancelled our cruise we are doing a month on Westerdam next year around Asia...can't wait...
Great content, Thanks 😃 We have switched to HAL, ships like this are just a great size and give you so much more room, been put off Princess and RCI as their ships are all so huge these days and rammed with people, crowds everywhere and feel so impersonal, did Westerdam around Japan and was fantastic, the next cruise is on Noordam, both sister ships to Oosterdam, Rolling Stone lounge is maybe the best live venue we have found at sea! Food on HAL is good, staff very friendly and just a good vibe on the ships, HAL along with Azamara are now our preferred line, not sure we could get back on the mega ships.
I’ve always loved HAL! The ships are just the right size, and they feel a bit classier than a lot of others. The service is always lovely. I laughed about your white trousers/dark underwear crisis! Many years ago us nurses had to wear white uniform pants, and one day a nurse wore Santa panties under hers and didn’t realize until too late how much they would show 😂😂
We too, love HAL! Have cruised 10 times on HAL. First time on Nieuw Statendam will be in 2 weeks to Southern Caribbean. Wish the chair hogs had arrived and you could have captured them on video for all the world to see. Although I'm not a Brit, I would like to see kettles added for Brits who love them, even if on request.
Thanks both for showing us around , Wow love the musical entertainment, and chocs 😊 Pet hate is people filling their plates with food,,,,then leaving it to waste 😢
Im on a diet (7 months and -80lbs later) so Im trying to hold out until 4PM for my OMAD. Then I watched your Oosterdam video and I dont think Ill make it to 2. Thanks a lot guys- lol.
Holland America is my favourite cruise line. I am 5 star Mariner and can't wait to cruise with them again. Unfortunately, for health reasons, I can no longer do long-haul flights to the Caribbean so I need to find a European cruise with them.
Yes the reserved pool loungers, its the same at hotels to. The staff should come around and remove dry towels regularly because that totally grinds my gears.
Hi guys. We had our first cruise Auckland to Sydney on “ Royal princess” beaut ship, great food. The mattress was tired, and toppa pads crumpled the bed continuously. For me the narrowness of the c@bin and closeness of the balcony was abit clostaphobic. Cabin steward was great so was the ships staff. Shops expensive. My husband won an “ Elite” status for the cruise. Laundry took two days, minibar took two days to come. But hey… it was free. We didn’t get the plus or premier packages, and came under budget even though we had drinks
Seems the MDRs on HA have improved somewhat since an unpleasant personal experience saw me wait over an hour for a plate of cold, congealed pasta that was sent back. The same plate was returned having been heated up by about five degrees. The waiter had neglected to collect the meals when first originally served up and he ignored the British contingent on the ship. Reviews like yours suggest major improvements on European based ships enough for me to consider trying again. I always look forward to your vlogs.
Soooo many great things we LOVE about HAL‼️ The pea soup has always been delicious and when going to Alaska and the ship stopping & turning, I believe, in Glacier Bay, the servers come out on deck with little cups of their wonderful pea soup - at least they did this years ago; wondering if they still do this. Anyone know? @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel - Carole, that custard slice looked fantastic!👌🏻
You guys are too funny as is your title. Having only cruised on Holland, I might not be a proper judge but we had a wonderful time cruising to Alaska on Holland never found time to take in all the events they host. The food is excellent, the staff wonderful, and the prices reasonable. Sailing with them to Hawaii next year.
@ It’s just so selfish! I would have removed the towels! It looked like they just had the towels. If they had their stuff there I would have told the staff.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Totally get that -- I was born in Victoria, BC with my family from Cheltenham, so having a kettle doesn't fall far from my tree
Where are the standards and jazz? I sure hope they had some. And Classical? I prefer one piano player and a piano bar type of environment like HAL used to have as well. What's "boring" is subjective. I think a lot of what some people find fun I find boring and what I find interesting and engaging, they find boring. That's why there should be different cruise lines for different tastes and why there should be a limited amount of ships for some brands vs. others.
They have great itineraries but boring on-board activities so we only use them for port intensive cruises. Good food and services but not enough things to do and entertainment is mediocre at best.

You two really cheer me up and make me smile!! That was so enjoyable to watch thanks so much
Oh thank you, that is great to hear!

Another great vid!! Loved Rhodes too, looking forward to seeing that too!
Thanks! We loved Rhodes!

Oh hi Brenda we were only talking about you yesterday, glad you are enjoying reliving the cruise with us, a personalised tour sounds fabulous.
It really gave us a feel for what a cruise experience is like. Can’t wait to see more of your cruise adventures!♥

We just love this mid ship HAL for foods (burgers) and relaxation trips. Will go again.
It is a great sized ship!
Best library I've seen on a cruise.❤
You need to go on QM2. The library on there is another level.
Really enjoyed this video
Thank you!
Thank you Paul and Carole another great episode 🎉🎉

It is the little things, traditional cruising at its best, love the laundry too!
Nice looking ship. Maybe one to try.....👌
Yes! Definitely recommend!

Enjoying these vlogs HAL looking more and more appealing 😊 Last year out of USA Princess gave kettles to us Brits for first time 😅
Glad you are enjoying them! Oh good to know!
Havent been on a Holland America ship for quite a while but as NCL cancelled our cruise we are doing a month on Westerdam next year around Asia...can't wait...
We have seen NCL cancel a lot! Hope you like HAL as much as we do!
HAL has also become our cruise line The food is delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
Totally agree!
We just got of Zuiderdam last week. We only sail Holland.
Zuiderdam looks a great ship too!
great episode paul and carole! curious if you guys do open seating or set dining times with holland? going on 22 day cruise and not sure what is best!
Thanks! It was open seating so worked for us!
Great videos. I always enjoy you guys, you are so funny. Just a happy loving couple. We are going on the neiw statemdam nov16.
Cheers Harvey, hope you enjoy your cruise.
@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Always thought the British had a dry scenc of humor. I was wrong, you guys are so funny.
I love HAL. I will be boarding the Oosterdam in 4 weeks in Santiago, Chile.

I’m not sure if I’m really tired (10.40pm in Australia) but go to 25:00 it looks like a frog face with you on his lip 🤦🏼♀️🤭
Lol it does!
Love your honesty and humor! Thank you, Carole, for not wearing dark underwear with white slacks. This is a pet peeve of mine😂

Do you a video on the Westdam ship

Totally agree they should!
is it bad form if you take the towels off the sunbeds if no one has returned after a few hours
loved your videos
The trouble is if you’ve just walked out to pool how do you know how long they’ve been there for??
Were ttere services charges added for everything or just one at the end, like the old system 20% P&O used to charge?
Service charges are added daily.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel is it right they also add on a daily cabin service charge, sure i saw it on another tubers vids
How do you manage without a kettle? My first thing as soon as I get up is kettle on and a cup of tea. Can you take travel kettle?
You just accept it! Taking electrical appliances like kettles and irons are not allowed sadly!
Oh dear cake me away could be a rival for Afternoon Tea-😂almost

Are the prices onboard in USD?
Yes all in dollars!

Right then! How ridiculous… putting towels on the sun beds… four hours later… Did you end up removing the towels? That would teach them😊
We told a couple that nobody had come back so they used them!
@ It’s just so selfish! I would have removed the towels! It looked like they just had the towels. If they had their stuff there I would have told the staff.
I think the staff should walk around the pool deck and when they see an empty lounger with a towel on it, and nothing else, remove it!
Yes that would be good!
You can order a cup of tea or coffee from 24 hour room service.
Yes you can, but we would rather make our own lol! 🤣

Just got off Princess, and the whole time we were missing HAL food. First and last Princess cruise - even Royal Caribbean has better food and coffee…
Oh really! HAL food is fab!
Please Paul, consider having your wedding ring cut off. It’s so very tight. Have Carol buy you a new one.
We’ve been talking about this for a while now, I’ll get it sorted soon.
Hey Carol - red undies don’t show under white 😂

They do have great itineraries. We love all the live music, but we would also like to see more west end type shows in the theatre!
So they’re back to two pianists.
We have always had two pianists on all our 3 cruises on Holland America.
Interesting to hear you only had one?
Dont know why my comment was lined out. Was that somehow offensive?
We have not put any lines on anything so not sure why it appeared that way!

Lol yep sometimes! 🤣
Many people wearing masks?
Very few that we seen.
