I found this message 4 years later and started my 34 days of fasting and prayer, today Oct 7th 2021. I believe God will bring a breakthrough in my life soon. Thank you Lord for bringing me to this message and keeping me on this fast. Thank you Lord. Update: My breakthrough came after finishing my fast for 34 days. My fast ended on Nov 9th 2021 and two weeks later I started to get correspondence from the organization I was waiting on. On Nov 24th I got the first response after waiting since May 2021 to hear back. On Dec 2nd I got another letter from them and on Dec 15th, the process was completed. God can do anything. Trust God and Pray. Prayer works even if it's hard and u don't see an answer immediately. God hears. I can't thank God enough for answering my prayer.
I’m starting a 4 day water fast until Sunday and begging and hoping that God completely destroys my pornography addiction. I’m so desperate to stay in his presence and I know how much indulging in pornography breaks his heart and drives his spirit away. Yes, just ask Him to use that pain to bring about His will, & he WILL. Some time back, God revealed to me the verse "All things work for GOOD to those who love God". I carried alot of guilt for some past sins in my life. One day, I was told to "Pray that ALL my mistakes...past, present, & future...be used for GOOD within His plan". 2019 I fasted 3 days without food and water God answered my prayer. But I don't think I can do it more than 3 days, even it wasn't easy the 3rd days of my fast I was so weak to do 3 days fast I had to ask vacation.

Im 21 and i have attempted fasting several times and i keep struggling to do an actual real fast. I am in desperate need of a financial breakthrough, I decided to start small and do a 6 to 6 fast from tomorrow, please pray for me.
Biblical fasting doesn't necessarily have anything to do with food or not eating.It's just leaving off things that you might otherwise do and devoting that time in concentrated prayer instead....could be not watching TV, not visiting with friends on your phone or in person, not watching videos on youtube, etc. If you want to skip a meal in the process, that's fine but it's not necessary.

@@NC-hv3mt Yeah while you CAN fast from electronics, social media, etc….there is no greater fast than presenting to Our Father our bodies as a living sacrifice. We can’t live without food. We can live without a cellphone….(UNLESS He specifically told us to fast from social or whatever). We came out the womb and within less than an hour the instinct to root around for the breasts to FEED ourselves kicks in. So when we actually fast from something that we can’t live without, I believe it’s a greater sacrifice. The Bible’s ONLY messages about fasting were regarding fasting from food. Jesus didn’t go up to the mountain and fast for 40-days from “writing letters”, it was from food. Esther didn’t fast from getting her hair done lol. And Daniel didn’t fast from dancing lol. God gave us the example of what HE considers an acceptable fast….and we always tweak things according to what we’d prefer to do.
I'm going on a fast tomorrow. I'm praying for a new job that's a good fit for me. I've been job hopping and just unhappy with where I've been. God I ask that you restore me spiritually and Bless me with the right job for me.

@@mdte5421 no one's judging you, but the Bible says, do no be unequally yoked with unbelievers. An atheist isn't a believer of God, and you know this. The Bible also said, the truth shall set you free. Again no one's Judging you, if you know the truth and do the opposite, it's a sin. God doesn't hear the prayers of sinners. The only prayers of a sinner God hears is the prayers of repentance of a sinner. You can't decieve yourself, and you certainly can't decieve God.
I and my wife are from Nagaland in India. We have been serving as missionaries in Cambodia for the past two and half years. Looking back, we have not been progressed much... we are tired and discouraged. But listening to you gives us one more reason to stay and not discourage. Pray for us too.
We are called to not give up/give in. The angel Jacob wrestled with in his dream said "Let me go!", but Jacob replied, "NOT UNTIL YOU BLESS ME!" The experience I have had in praying like this has brought almost instant answers to some of my most pressing needs. TELL Him you are so discouraged you feel like giving up! He LISTENS when we are truthful before Him. He is not waiting, eyeing you, just waiting for you to FAIL! When you cry out PASSIONATELY that you need help with your discouragement, weariness, or anything, He will moves mountains.

Thank you so much for this. I did fast for a breakthrough (my first time) last week. and prayed so hard and often. This week I was offered a great job that gets me out of retaiI /customer service. I start in 2 days.. I've been job searching for 6 months. I've had 6 crappy minimum wage jobs this year. Really struggling for a foot into somewhere else. This job offer is what I really needed. It gives me experience and pays $3 more. And I'm not experienced for it. She said she had 150+ applications and I'm 1 out of 4 that she interviewed, then they picked me. Yet here it is! This happened a few days after I prayed for a breakthrough. I'm s new Christian so...I'm still pretty doubtful and discouraged a lot of times. I'm scared this will be taken away from me..because I've worked do hard to find a good job..I almost feel like im not worthy of it. I'm scared.. I finished reading Rick Warren's 40 days of Purpose driven book and i was blessed. I have started fasting as i completed reading that book ..and i'm on my forth day of prayer and fasting..i just bumped on Rick Warren's fasting video i believe it was God who led me here ..Amen 🙏🏻

After he took addiction out of my heart I decided to give my life to him and to get baptized at my uncles church. After I told my fiancé how I felt & how I wanted to change my life and turn from sin and start living for God and putting him first. She started to resent me and told me she doesn’t want to be with me anymore. I’m so torn for our child but I have faith God will take care of everything. Last year was the worst year of my life and I just turned 57 my faith in our King has become stronger during this period my separated wife has fled the state of Texas with my 6-year-old daughter which I have not seen since November I've had to do things to the court system that I do not wish to do to her as a habeas corpus for child as she is trying to alienate me as a. My daughter and I are like glue and I don't know what to do other than when I'm told to do by our King! And of course the judicial system of Travis county which is a complete mess! You ever notice that the more good things that happen the more attacks you will encounter. Like Paul, praise those attack moments. It hurts but God always comes along. I do not want crappy times, but I know that God has something better around the corner. It took a while to lean into God and trust Him. I loved Him, but because of not trusting my circumstances, people, the world, I also did not trust God. When I started finding out trusting in God was the only way, I saw a pattern, after the bad, there was always something better. Breakthroughs can be daily, hourly. A cup of coffee, with a friend, a meal being dropped off, connecting with a small group, a bottle of Gatorade when you are cutting the lawn, a job opportunity, a chance to take a masterclass, an opportunity worth giving time up for. All good things come with trust, giving up something, and prayer. Thank You God for loving me and teaching me to rely and trust You first. Amen

fasting is a major! key to breakingthrough; it has been called one of the secrets to a successfully Christian life. A fast of 1-3 (or more) days is fantastic, never fasting water, the body will break down after 3 days without water; Jesus said that we WOULD fast when he left, and if we want to be Godly, we will. We must seek the Lord and go ahead and attempt to repent

I was looking to see how to fast as a beginner. I went through like 3 or 4 video but this one today is 12/20/2023 and the pastor said we going to fast for 34 days starting New Year’s Day. My friend told me about a 40 days fasting and I told him I want to do it because I need a break through. I’ve been battling with depression and anxiety and other stuff. I’m so happy that I stumbled onto this video. I asked god to help me so I can follow him and I believe he lead me to this video. I don’t know how to fast, and I’m going to do this because I’m feeling god’s calling.

Many years ago I read Pastor Warren's The Purpose Driven Life book. I accidently came across his teachings online. I'm so grateful for him. God was moving me to fasting and praying, but I needed some clarity and I was lead to do a search online and there was Pastor Warren, giving me exactly what I needed to hear and do. Happens to me often. but THIS one was ALARMING , disturbing, and seem to be a WARNING? I found this message 4 years later and started my 34 days of fasting and prayer, today Oct 7th 2021. I believe God will bring a breakthrough in my life soon. Thank you Lord for bringing me to this message and keeping me on this fast. Thank you Lord.
Update: My breakthrough came after finishing my fast for 34 days. My fast ended on Nov 9th 2021 and two weeks later I started to get correspondence from the organization I was waiting on. On Nov 24th I got the first response after waiting since May 2021 to hear back. On Dec 2nd I got another letter from them and on Dec 15th, the process was completed. God can do anything. Trust God and Pray. Prayer works even if it's hard and u don't see an answer immediately. God hears. I can't thank God enough for answering my prayer.

. 4th week just drink water, water, water for seven days ;)

. Don't let your mind and appetite leer you, everytime your tempted to eat, pray! and remember this time is for God not food, you will eat later.

. We fast to show God we don't only need food to live, but Gods word

2019 I fasted 3 days without food and water God answered my prayer. But I don't think I can do it more than 3 days, even it wasn't easy the 3rd days of my fast I was so weak to do 3 days fast I had to ask vacation.

Im 21 and i have attempted fasting several times and i keep struggling to do an actual real fast. I am in desperate need of a financial breakthrough, I decided to start small and do a 6 to 6 fast from tomorrow, please pray for me.
Biblical fasting doesn't necessarily have anything to do with food or not eating.It's just leaving off things that you might otherwise do and devoting that time in concentrated prayer instead....could be not watching TV, not visiting with friends on your phone or in person, not watching videos on youtube, etc. If you want to skip a meal in the process, that's fine but it's not necessary.

@@NC-hv3mt Yeah while you CAN fast from electronics, social media, etc….there is no greater fast than presenting to Our Father our bodies as a living sacrifice. We can’t live without food. We can live without a cellphone….(UNLESS He specifically told us to fast from social or whatever). We came out the womb and within less than an hour the instinct to root around for the breasts to FEED ourselves kicks in. So when we actually fast from something that we can’t live without, I believe it’s a greater sacrifice. The Bible’s ONLY messages about fasting were regarding fasting from food. Jesus didn’t go up to the mountain and fast for 40-days from “writing letters”, it was from food. Esther didn’t fast from getting her hair done lol. And Daniel didn’t fast from dancing lol. God gave us the example of what HE considers an acceptable fast….and we always tweak things according to what we’d prefer to do.
16/8 isn't too bad. Finish supper at 8pm. Skip breakfast and eat lunch at noon and supper before 8pm. You are fasting while you sleep.

The Bible also said, the truth shall set you free. Again no one's Judging you, if you know the truth and do the opposite, it's a sin. God doesn't hear the prayers of sinners. The only prayers of a sinner God hears is the prayers of repentance of a sinner. You can't decieve yourself, and you certainly can't decieve God.
I and my wife are from Nagaland in India. We have been serving as missionaries in Cambodia for the past two and half years. Looking back, we have not been progressed much... we are tired and discouraged. But listening to you gives us one more reason to stay and not discourage.

Thank you so much for this. I did fast for a breakthrough (my first time) last week. and prayed so hard and often. This week I was offered a great job that gets me out of retaiI /customer service. I start in 2 days.. I've been job searching for 6 months. I've had 6 crappy minimum wage jobs this year. Really struggling for a foot into somewhere else. This job offer is what I really needed. It gives me experience and pays $3 more. And I'm not experienced for it. She said she had 150+ applications and I'm 1 out of 4 that she interviewed, then they picked me. Yet here it is! This happened a few days after I prayed for a breakthrough. I'm s new Christian so...I'm still pretty doubtful and discouraged a lot of times. After he took addiction out of my heart I decided to give my life to him and to get baptized at my uncles church. After I told my fiancé how I felt & how I wanted to change my life and turn from sin and start living for God and putting him first. She started to resent me and told me she doesn’t want to be with me anymore. I’m so torn for our child but I have faith God will take care of everything. I’m starting my fasting today & I ask for your help in prayer 🙏
This really helped me and reminded me to focus on God and stop giving into the flesh, i am going to start my 40 day fast on Wednesday and pray everyday for people and my own inner transformation, knowing that God is going to help break my bad habits and to live for him and know that my purpose is to serve him and he will bless me and lead me to where he wants me to be

You ever notice that the more good things that happen the more attacks you will encounter. Like Paul, praise those attack moments. It hurts but God always comes along. I do not want crappy times, but I know that God has something better around the corner. It took a while to lean into God and trust Him. I loved Him, but because of not trusting my circumstances, people, the world, I also did not trust God. When I started finding out trusting in God was the only way, I saw a pattern, after the bad, there was always something better. Breakthroughs can be daily, hourly. A cup of coffee, with a friend, a meal being dropped off, connecting with a small group, a bottle of Gatorade when you are cutting the lawn, a job opportunity, a chance to take a masterclass, an opportunity worth giving time up for. All good things come with trust, giving up something, and prayer.

fasting is a major! key to breakingthrough; it has been called one of the secrets to a successfully Christian life. A fast of 1-3 (or more) days is fantastic, never fasting water, the body will break down after 3 days without water; Jesus said that we WOULD fast when he left, and if we want to be Godly, we will. We must seek the Lord and go ahead and attempt to repent

I was looking to see how to fast as a beginner. I went through like 3 or 4 video but this one today is 12/20/2023 and the pastor said we going to fast for 34 days starting New Year’s Day. My friend told me about a 40 days fasting and I told him I want to do it because I need a break through. I’ve been battling with depression and anxiety and other stuff. I’m so happy that I stumbled onto this video. I asked god to help me so I can follow him and I believe he lead me to this video. I don’t know how to fast, and I’m going to do this because I’m feeling god’s calling.

Many years ago I read Pastor Warren's The Purpose Driven Life book. I accidently came across his teachings online. I'm so grateful for him. God was moving me to fasting and praying, but I needed some clarity and I was lead to do a search online and there was Pastor Warren, giving me exactly what I needed to hear and do. Thank God for this word! It has blessed me in the areas of my praying for others and getting closer to God! Bless this man of God and his church in Jesus name Amen!

I came here sort of "accidentally", because of a former close friend of mine who said that the pastor of the Saddleback Church, located in Santa Ana, CA., " Gene" (Paul Eugen) Mann. I think of him often, because he acted more like an older brother than a 'male " aggressor; Can't quite find the right word there, and you might say God simply led me here, instead ? He suggest I come there to visit but I never could get there on a Sunday morning; He said he "knew" this pastor was " a man of God, for real'. Being a sometimes hypocrite in some ways, and a master procrastinator, I surely (apparently) NEEDED to hear this today?
I would love to speak to pastor Rick Warren sometime, about a "disturbing" dream I had, that
later, after assembling of hand-written scribbles, became a song. Happens to me often. but THIS one was
ALARMING , disturbing, and seem to be a WARNING? Those SEVEN drum beats...repeated, then the pattern of three, and knowing that I hate loud noises, especially loud DRUMS...I really did SHOUT out to the Lord..."Why me? Why are you doing this to ME?"
I hope to hear from the pastor, and hope he HEARS my question within the song..of all the LOUD confusing warnings I received.

I started a fast several days ago. I have search the internet for specific directions on how to fast. I found a lot on fasting but not a step by step plan. But, by God’s grace, I found this message! What a blessing! I expect breakthrough because the Bible says that God is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him. I join the force of prayer with all of you who are praying for a breakthrough.
I will look for the complete series outline so I can follow the daily commitment. I hope it is still available.
