Love the Clint Eastwood bit. Made me lol 😂. Your approach makes it easier to just get started, by just getting something general down and refining it as you go along. Very helpful!!
My dad was an oil painter and he loved painting so much. He passed away 6 months ago and all of his painting materials were left in my room. Whenever I look at them I get sad they weren't used anymore. Now I am trying to learn to paint and I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you! I'll try my best to practice.
Roses has always been a difficult subject for me. Thanks so much for this video. I can see where I get hung up and make my mistakes and what I really should be doing. Now, I am going to take what I learned and hit the canvas
The thing i struggle with is lights. Literally, lights. Light bulbs, flashlights, sun rays. Anything that emits light. How do i show that something is shining without covering up whats underneath? A street light, for example. How do i paint the rays from the light without covering up the buildings or trees in the background behind the light? Do i thin the paint so its more transparent? What do you do?
Hey Paint Coach!!! I ordered a set of Rosemary and Co brushes when asked how i heard of the I mentioned you Paint Coach on TH-cam!!! Cant wait to get em, they coming from England
Is linseed oil absolutely necessary? If a person only had paint thinner, would that work? And just used less and less thinner to create that graded scale thing you showed?
It sounds like you were talking about the Macpherson book when you mentioned the darkest darks and lightest lights. Might there be a connection? Great stuff.
Hi I just became a patron for $5 a month tier 1 and I am trying to find this rose tutorial. Can you tell me how to find it? I dont see it in either "portraits" or "landscapes" Thanks! Edit: found it!
rose water was in my room when I was painting this beautiful rose. i like the black background that made the rose outstanding. the color you choose were very appropriated. i think the right color for rose with value really have a big role to look so real and pretty.
You are an insanely good teacher. So many important lessons, tips, techniques etc. in 10 minutes. This video changed the way I paint.
