I've got a Ford Key Fob to repair today. The customer took a "swin in the river" with it. Unfortunately, i did not have the same luck or hability, or knowledge to fix it as you. It came shorted. I got rid of the short, but, the FOB only send a "small pulse" and stop working. I belive that is the main IC, it was very, very hot when it came on. Customer replaced 3 batteries, and all of them has been complety drained because of the short. I think that this IC got damaged after all that "stress". But, lets wait for the next oportunity of working in another one like that.
i've always wondered what solder wire are you using? haven't heard about that in your vids... i've always used a cheap brand and it works but i don't know if using a kelster o something like that will make a difference in some way..
Got a good tip for you. since you use alot of qtips you should buy the safty qtips . I get them at the dollar tree myself. they are way better as they have about 150% more surface area can clean alot better 👍
not questioning here, just curious, is it safe enough for the enamel coating if we desolder a coil with hot air? at what temp is considered safe to do it?
Good morning. I think there is a crack on PCB at 0:55. The crack runs through 5 traces... I hope I'm not mistaken. Nevetheless, these traces are continuous but fragile.
I wish im close at your area NorthridgeFix, I have a problem with my external hard drive that can't be recognize anymore and I can't open my files, wish you can fix my 1TB HDD... but im too far... sighs BTW I love your works and i enjoy watching your videos..
I have a Benz key. Sometimes the car does recognize it sometimes not when it don’t recognize it car won’t start . I have to lock the car few times and then it starts . Do you think it’s the coil ?? Can you fix it ??
Awesome job as always , funny thing I noticed is that there are a lot of mercedes keys that you repair. Are they worst quality than other brands or is just the coincidence that most of them are benz keys?
At some periodic interval I will be dumping my broken electronics at a recycling site. Could those parts end up at your shop to be reused? Or are there other places I should dump them?
I'm fascinated by your work and skill. I'm interested to know where and how you aquire all your donor boards? Are they all leftovers from previous repairs or do you buy them separately
Jonathan, You're the Benz expert. You tell me. :-). I guess customer meant c150. He typed c1500 and that's what I read in the video. I really don't care if it's a c150 or c5 million as long as it's fixable.

Hello Sir!
Whats the website where I can find all ICs and SMD components!? It would be of great help, all the very best for your marvelous work!
Most of the PCB, after assembly, goes through conformal coating process but still corrosion?
even mac or iphone board have corrosion..
Always Nice job
were do i get that key tester?

He buys them n some he get from customers. He mention it in one of his videos
Well done!
I hope that you can work on a Benz rear SAM 2010
Never had one to work on
@@NorthridgeFix it's a car fusibles holder?
an awesome job 👍🏼
There’s a corrosion on a trace at 4:25
Cleaned and all good.
Actually at 7:39 you can see that the trace is completly gone, so I guess that the keyless start would still not work.
@@VladoT Yeah that’s what I guess too 😂
