I had the same problem with mine. I’m fairly sure it was because it had been taken apart from the front only, leaving the rear attached to the case. There were no washers on the front screws, whereas all of the rear bolts had them and the gasket was firmly adhered there. I was able to straighten the bent chassis by partial disassembly without having to remove the D connectors. Fortunately the grp circuit board seems fairly strong in compression and the aluminium bent instead.

Misalignment of the halves seems to be a common problem.
