Hi Mark, I think I saw you were using the wire trace with the clips, if you’ve got a spare sec, go ask your tackle guy about using wire trace that you cut to what ever length you want & then tie it, ie no clips. Attaching it takes some practice but we’ll worth it for when you hook something much bigger. Glad you got some dinner.
@selfsuffishingme all round angler are a great local shop with heaps of good gear and good advice. I spotted you guys at the ramp the other night, I realised too late and you were gone before I could say g'day. Maybe next time mate 👍.
Shoes are a good idea when dealing with toothy critters, keep all your toes ;) I’ve had a treble hook in my foot attached to a wahoo, I don’t recommend it :)
Congrats on catching a couple of good fish but I’m sure the thing you liked about it best was spending the time with your son. Great video as always Mark
Glad you got some fish. Check the bite times for the day you are planning to fish there is usually two minors and two majors most days, and if they coincide with a dusk or dawn or a tide change your chances are even better. In general fish are more active due to the bigger tides around full moon and new moon too.
I knew an older bloke many years ago who, every time he went fishing, he came home with a feed. He had a reputation for being a gun fishman. Until I found out he only admitted going fishing when there were fish to bring home. He was no better a fishman than anybody else. His success rate was about ten to one. A lesson learnt is that fishman are the best storytellers. Cheers
Well done boys👌 I’m also on the sunny coast an never bother doing the early morning thing with the other 10,000 boats at the ramp. I go out after lunch an fish into the evening and the fishing is always better and far less boat traffic 👍 Also don’t know why u travel all the way from ur place to Bribie when u can put in at Mooloolaba an get onto gd fish much closer to home? PM me if u like an I’ll flick u some marks to get u started 👍 Stay safe boys🤙
Cheers for the comment! But we choose to take the Bribie route as its less boat travel time and as well as its closer to the beacons we want to fish. 😁👍
@@selfsuffishingme yep that’s a given if u want to fish the Morteon beacons but I was suggesting fishing the reefs sth of Noosa to east of Caloundra? I do it in a 16’ tinny weather permitting an a few trips ago got between 3 of us 26 keepers and used 12 litres of fuel in my 4 stroke 60hp Merc? Not talking smack but just suggesting to make the point that too many people think u have to have a big boat an travel big kays to the banks etc to catch fish? That last trip I mentioned before I could hear the surf crashing on the beach an we were in about 15m of water? As mentioned before happy to get u started👍

You should take a viewer with you fishing one day, when I say viewer I mean myself
It's nice to catch them when they're catchable, cheers Mark!
Beauty fish. Love to see you guys out there crushing it.
Looks like you had a great day!

When you bait a live bait just put the hook through the top lip that way they will last longer
Didn't need to at the moment the bait was gone as soon as it was in the water!
Oh my gosh after watching Self Sufficient Me for nearly 5-ish years I just learned about this channel today! :D G'day mate!
Thank you for being such a loyal viewer! 5 years!
Congratulations guys !
Well done guys
Cheers from down south
So good to see you finally broke the curse.

We were using Pryml Lip Grips had them for ages they are quite good. Thanks for the support ✌️
Are you near the great barrier reef?
Couple hours drive we will certainly give it a go one day!
Now your building a fishing knowledge base, takes time but now your eating
Always a bonus we you get a feed mate!

Be very careful with bare feet and a mackerel on deck, you could loose a couple if toes😊
