[Bijna aanrijding] Hulpdiensten naar gevaarlijke stof in Rotterdam

- 28/04/12 - Diverse Brandweervoertuigen werden zaterdag aan het eind van de middag opgeroepen voor een melding via Particuliere alarmcentrale. Even later schaalde de Brandweer op naar middel hulpverlening ivm mogelijk gevaarlijke stof. Hierdoor werd station Blaak uit voorzorg ontruimd, waardoor het trein en metro verkeer tijdelijk stil kwam te liggen. Uiteindelijk bleek het om een rokende aggregraat te gaan. Hierbij kwamen geen gevaarlijke stoffen vrij.

Part of the issue here is matched siren tones. You'll see in the Uk emergency vehicles running in convoy will be using alternating siren tones. Ie vehicle 1 on the short tones, vehicle 2 on the long tones through traffic. This allows vehicles to audibly distinguish between the two, and realise there's a second vehicle coming even if they've not seen it.
Exactly! Fault of the driver for not seeing both ways before moving but the matching siren tones is a problem here too!

No, it's not. Hurry hurry and not paying enough attention to the other traffic. For two different sirens some people are not smart enough, to say it a bit friendly.
No. Having more than one fire apparatus respond to a call is the norm, not the exception. After the first vehicle is through, you better make sure whether there's more. That has nothing to do with sirens, it's common sense.

When emergency vehicles follow each other thru an intersection the first makes it . The second gets hit because drivers don't think that more maybe coming. Emergency drivers need to be more aware of traffic if they are second or third to go thru an intersection.

I would like to just say the 2nd truck should have had the siren on from the start, not just when that car almost didn't stop.
It sounds like they were in sync? That’s why emergency drivers in the UK are often told to have different sirens on if travelling in convoy. Not always the case but, this video demonstrates why it’s useful. Either way as a driver (in the context of the car) we should always check to ensure there isn’t another vehicle in convoy. If it isn’t clear if there is another vehicle stay where you are until you know it is definitely clear. L

This video is a good example why emergency vehicles should be equipped with sirens capable of emitting multiple tones such as WAIL, YELP, HI-LO, PHASER. When driving in a convoy such as this one, the two vehicles should use different siren tones thereby distinguishing themselves from each other. By only using the TWO-TONE siren these vehicles are endangering themselves and other drivers. That's why this car almost ran into the fire truck. Not having other audible options is DANGEROUS.

Welcome in Europe, where we put reponsibility where it belongs (in this case the car driver), not where you lawyer can get a lot of money for you.

Over here all EV's sounds (more or less) the same: A 2-Tone horn, Blue flashlights on the corners and flashing head-lights. That's all

Why no difference: Because the type of vehicle is not of any blody interest for the other traffic, the just have to get out of the way. Terminate.
People in cars should learn that the only thing they're expected to do behind the steering wheel of a car is ..... right ..... driving a car.
So not apping, no phoning etc. and they sound level of your audio should be of that level, that you can hear those
@@MrRCGNL yes the driver should pay more attention, but this is a prime example that we don't live in a perfect world, if something as easy as having different sirens in a convoy can prevent accidents, then why not? And talking about Europe you should know that in many Nordic countries and Belgium they use different sirens for that reason

Problems should be solved by focussing on the weakest link, and in traffic that's the human factor.
You can make noise what you want, If car drivers don't use there brains, ears or eyes, any investment in other things is a waste of money.
BTW: Belgium has one of the highest traffic fatality rates of Europe .... so comparing Holland with Belgium is not a very good idea.

De tweede Brandweerwagen had gewoon zijn sirene aan. Doordat allebei de wagens dezelfde sirene hebben is het misschien moeilijk te horen.

Groot en rood, je zou verwachten dat ze je zien en dat zal ook wel 99 van de 100 keer zo zijn.. toch mag een voorrangsvoertuig geen voorrang nemen maar hoort hij die te krijgen. De snelheid waarmee ze door het rood knallen is ook veel te hoog. De chauffeur is denk ik wel aan een herhalingscursus toe!
Snelheid is niet te hoog. Staat toch op tijd stil en heeft de situatie onder controle. Gewoon een domme auto bestuurder die niet oplet en een brandweerchauffeur die snel handelt zoals het moet.
Die chauffeur van die VW is inderdaad aan een herhalingscursus toe.
Alsmede een cursus "Algemene ontwikkeling": Een brandweerauto komt vaak niet alleen .....

Lijkt me ook niet verstandig om direct als brandweer wagen achter elkaar te rijden laat er 1 min tussen want mensen verwachten geen brandweerwagen en al helemaal geen 2 (ik citeer dit van een ovd)

Het gaat om een T5 facelift uit maart 2012. Als je snel kijkt lijkt het misschien op een T6 door de chrome grill. Als je het kenteken opzoekt bij RDW zie je alle info.
