I think this rendition hits so much because you can feel her emotions in it, she seemed very honored and nervous because it’s such a big deal. She has sung cleaner versions, but this is by far the best one.
Gaga is truly one of the best singers of this generation. People wrote her off for her crazy antics but her singing is just so beautiful, particularly on songs that are more stripped back. This was so powerful and regal. Her vocal chops are the real deal. My favourite songs of hers are her duets with Tony Bennett, just gorgeous.

Everything about Gaga was symbolic from her "paloma"...her dove of peace to the magenta she wore to her singing...and when she got to the crescendo..."that our flag was still there", and looking to the flag hanging over the Capitol which just 14 days before, was being invaded by domestic terrorists...made her singing as she did and her turning away from the crowd to look at the flag, so much more poignant. It was beautiful and she worked hard for President Biden to become president. The next singer, Jennifer Lopez, Jlo, sang 2 songs.....and in the middle, shouted out, in Spanish, as she is from Puerto Rico, a part of the USA, our pledge of allegiance that we have to say every day when in school. That was equally as important. Then, a Republican, Garth Brooks coming out and singing "Amazing Grace", no music, just voice, was very special, indeed. People putting the country above their politics. Thankfully, though Trump should have been there but left, (YAY), the VP, Pence, stayed to do the transition correctly. Good luck in your future plans. Just to mention it, though, foreigners are not very welcome in America, today, by half the country, so be careful and the xenophobia against Germans and what happened in WWII, still exists...!
