    Those are some dramatic divas 😂 I have plenty of humidity here though so maybe I could make them happy and I also use rain water for my houseplants 😂 but your Aquafina girl was asking for it 😂 edit to add: do the challenge! I wanna see what happens😀

      I wouldn’t say it’s hard to take care of, we just don’t have the perfect environment for it in New York 🥲🌱

    One thing I did that’s made a huge difference in how happy my calathea are is to take them out of terracotta pots. I love them but they seem to hate them. So, I put all the plants in nursery pots and use the terracotta pots as cache pots. It’s been a game changer for me.

    04:32 you nailed it! 😅 My tricolor lost so many leaves. I’m hoping it bounces back. I have new stems coming up like how your rattlesnake is coming back. Your peacock calathea is gorgeous!

    So I'm definitely a beginner with indoor plants🪴 but I have 7 calatheas and I'm honestly obsessed I haven't killed any yet but it's still early so will see but I'm giving them rain or distilled water and I have a humidifier just for them I don't have a south facing window but I have a north and west facing window/ sliding door that are open all day and I keep them on the other side of the room

    • @FelineJungle
      @FelineJungle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really like them but only the thing is they seem don't like me much ... 😂

    My Maranta has been shooting upwards since I got it and I can’t figure out why. No brown edges . I live in Lagos Nigeria so it’s super hot and humid here yet all sis does is shoot up, day and night. I think it’s cause my room is too bright. Not sure what madam wants, I’ll also try increasing watering

    I’ve got mine in lechuza pon in a self-watering pot with distilled water. That seems to be the best setup from my experiments and once it’s all set up there’s much less work to do around them. They seem to really like that airiness and constant moisture. I also think it creates a kind of humid microclimate for them since I don’t have a humidifier and they look alright.

    • @FelineJungle
      @FelineJungle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh I love this!! Thank you for sharing your experience. I haven’t try lechuza pon but now I want to 🧡

    Calatheas are funny because it will shoot new growth but brown tips at the same time 😅
    Omg your needy Calathea and the Aquafina water 🤣🤣🤣🤣💅
    I've got my Calathea on a small bonsai planter, half kokedama style, moss covers the soil and keeps high level of humidity indoors, and she seems to like it a lot, I see her thriving, pushing three new growths at the same time, I now know I just need to give her some top quality water 🥺
    Btw, my calathea doesn't like bright indirect sunlight, she will fold her leaves, she likes the darkest corner of my living room 🤣🤣🤣
