Wow... Mark is absolutely gorgeous in these old clips. I mean... holy moly... what a beautiful Man. Love his character so much, one of my faves, and Aidan is such a sweetheart x
I loved this storyline. It was one of the longest running. This was when 'Enders was at it's best. It's all character driven instead of plot driven. Also the fact the actors spent less time filming reflected the high quality, which has unfortunately been lost. I love all the characters involved in this episode. Weird there was a time Ian approved of Phil! Aidan is so cute, I love his scenes with Mandy. Mandy was one of the best characters for me. Plus I forgot how sexy Sanjay was! Wow...
Yes, he was sexy, wasn't he, and one of the few non Beale/Watt/Fowlers characters they kept for more than a few years. EastEnders was totally on top from its beginning to the end of the 90s (where it had begun to struggle massively) before tipping over the edge into oblivion by 2001. While it still rocked at this time (1993), still far too many characters had left/been written out, and the utterly unfair hatchet attacks by the makers in early 1990 was really unnecessary. Trevor was a dope, but funny, and Paul, Julie, and the Karims were fine, then just dumped. By 1990 Wicksy had gone too. The Taverniers and Kapoors injected some sorely needed fresh blood to go alongside the Mitchells and the already established veterans still there, but casting and keeping people got more and more problematic as time went on, but above all, as you've said, so-called plot was deemed more important than character (just like in movies) and just like those movies, the show began suffering big time-and soon on a road from which there's just no comeback.
@@kyachdistent1301 also when they started bringing people back from the dead and replacing a major character like Michelle Fowler it had truly lost any credibility it once had
Sharon "Arthur 'ad an affair with Mrs Hewit." Ian "I don't believe it-an affair?" Little Steven " What's an affair, daddy?" Ian " Umm...I'll tell you sometime, Steven."
I agree - great actress, shame nothing more became of her. I live in hope she returns to EE one day - Arthur and Pauline may be long gone but Kathy AND Martin are still around, there's still potential scope for Mrs H ...
I know why Kathy couldn't fire Mrs Hewitt. She doesn't like what she's done, but she needs to catch Mrs Hewitt stealing or something to fire her, otherwise there'll be legal issues.
That eastenders theme 😒😒, seriously, lol 😂😈, thank god they got rid of it, lol, the affair was good and Pauline snacked Arthur with the sauce pan, I will never forget it, I was 10 years old that time, lol 🤪😂😈
bit like 1997 with namesake. cathy. and the jack affair with rachel in emmerdale. Clearly a copy. caf owner and same name blond, good looking....pig in the middle....wow. the similarities....

loved Tddd Carty in this role. Love how understanding he was to his old dad too.

@@annalishagoring And they haven't stopped that bringing back the dead either, as both Ronnie and Roxie are to return to the long dead show.
‘I want you Arthur, and I’m going to have you’ fucking hell sounds like she’s going to eat him😂😳😳

Wow what a last line that was from Mrs Hewit
Bet Michelle's right 'and was twitching with an urge to slap Mrs. Hewitt!!!
16:48 Pat stopped Mark from getting her because she was eyeing up Mandy's sandwich
One thing you have to respect about Mrs Hewitt, she didn't take shit off anyone.
I want you Arthur Fowler and im going to have you......Jeeeeeeez 😂😂😂
If I had a pound for the number of times I've heard 'that' line ! :D
Michelle has every right to be angry . Christine ruined her parnets marriage
The one who got pregnant with a married man's baby. She always was a hypocrite.
Not for too long they were back together again.
That Mandy - voice like a rusty brillo pad
She got too much screen tíme
Brilliantly played by the gorgeous Elizabeth Power who was Michael Aspel's wife.

Back before Martin Fowler turned Greek...
Michelle was the biggest slapper on the square. As if she could talk.
😂😂
And she still is if you can tell it’s her through the plastic face and crappy hair extensions
I know why Kathy couldn't fire Mrs Hewitt. She doesn't like what she's done, but she needs to catch Mrs Hewitt stealing or something to fire her, otherwise there'll be legal issues.
Agreed. And always in those situations, damned if you tell, damned if you don't, especially if you like both people.
Kathy and Mrs Hewitt look so much alike.
Couldn't believe Arthur would cheat on Pauline just didn't seem the type but there again you never know
Well, let's face it...Pauline didn't treat Arthur very well....she was a hard woman.
doesn't matter, you don't sleep with someone else when you are married
Pauline was seeing some old git called Danny Torres.
@Dawn Finch it's the quiet ones you have to watch! 😁
@@lloyddenvermckay1410 Indeed
