They are always moving the goal posts for Tennessee. Always. Yes they could be upset, but they have had 2 weeks to prepare for the QB they are about to see. The defense is playing elite level. I just think they are zoned into this game and will continue to do this every week. Upset meters predicted to be high, but we show we can prove that wrong. Good analysis. 1999 Tennessee Vols were ranked 3rd and rolled into Fayetteville and ended their shot at a repeat BCS title. Hope we don't see a repeat. Think we are better than them but never take an SEC team on the road for granted.
Thank you Josh for taking a step back and realizing we are talking about college football. I love Tennessee sports all of them. All the shows and the fans need to back up and give them credit for what they have accomplished as they go. Pass blocking and Taylen Green's ability to make the right call and get the ball out quickly are always the open question. When do they figure it out? This offense is unstoppable when they figure it out.
I'm thinking that the combonof Carter, pili, and McCoy are the reason the secondary numbers are where they are. Concepcion is a great wr and OUs #1 is pretty good as well.
I think you got some Tennessee fans thinking we will beat them easy, but most of us are scared of any matchup. Best thing that has happened though is that we have a few of our oline that have been out coming back.
As a Tennessee FAN Im not worried about Arkansas. I do think they could give us a game through the first half. The good thing about being a FAN is you're not the one lacing them up on saturdays. So it doesn't matter who the FANS overlook. There's zero correlation between FANS overlooking a team and their university performing well. I promise you Neither Heupel nor this team will overlook anybody. Especially a week after a bye and watching Ole Miss piss down their legs. Tennessee wil be ready to go come 730 this saturday.
I'm afraid you're right. UT is gonna dominate us. They should with the coaching and roster they have. Our most recent recruiting class was 15th out of 16 in the SEC. Our portal class was ranked 26th in nation. We have a mountain west QB and our TE's are both injured. Our O line is better than last year but not much. If UT plays well it should be an Offensive clinic. Ya'll's D line is better than A&M's in my opinion. T. Green is gonna bring back memories of Archie Manning playing for New Orleans.
The Vols could win every game by 50, and still have a dozen things to cry about! Not the players, the fans! Move the goal post, refs, field was in bad shape, media hates us, don't get any love,we were here first, ect! It's embarrassing to see these type comments on anything to do with Tennessee football!
So you just described a portion of virtually any teams fanbase...what's your point? And also, if you're talking about the OU game the comments about field conditions and the coaches use of "kippen timeouts" to thwart the Vol's hurry up offense, those were factually supported and quite apparent. But you're absolutely right about fans having often unrealistic expectations...and you can't move ahead looking while focused on the rearview mirror. I believe that TN will win handily, but it boils down to who's best prepared and can adapt quicker to in game situations.
For the Hogs, the entire season depends on how long our D can hang on to the rope. Our offense keeps finding ways to lose and sometimes barely put up a fight. Is the Hog D strong enough to carry them again? Who knows.
I'm quietly concerned about the Vols defense vs a mobile quarterback. I have faith that they'll get it done and limit the effectiveness of the Arkansas QB, but I just have to see it first. The rush will get there, that QB will step out of the pocket, tuck the ball....and then we'll see. Still think the Vols win, especially pulling away late. I think we'll get a lot of answers this Saturday. GB🍊
I wouldn't put money on the cover just because I think Heupel will be very conservative if it looks comfortable and he will pull some key players early to avoid potential injury and get play time for the guys who need to get up to par in prep for later in the season. That could result in some fourth qtr insanity that brings the score closer than we might like. UT to win though, that bet I would take all day.
Easy easy bro…. I know you’ve seen Rudy. It’s only been rough in recent years. Overall we are a great program and we are just working our way back to greatness. And the journey is what really is enjoyable.
Hogs fan here. I think everyone is trying to get us to bet on the hogs to cover so the books will have a good weekend.. We are 4 games deep and still have trouble snapping the ball. Keep that in mind when placing your wagers this week
Well, this has become a norm for Josh Pate now. Ohhhhhh, Tennessee should be worried about NC State, Oklahoma and now Arkansas. Well Momma is wrong again! 😂😂😂
I was born in Knoxville in 96. I grew up a DIE hard fan, I went to UT as a student, and I can tell you one thing... It always feels too good to be true. Tennessee fans my age have had their hearts ripped out and thrown into the dirt too many times to count. I am crossing my fingers that this year is the year we can finally say Tennessee is back!
lol you have no clue just how bad Arkansas is. Especially at home. You say you’ll be fortunate to win? Dude give it up. My hogs are not gonna beat y’all. We suck. 56-17 Tennessee
Two words that make this very different than OK - LANCE HEARD. Nico has his blindside protected and points will go up like a magic pinball machine. Provided the hog's field is not the trailer park grass patch that the Sooners hosted on.
You obviously don’t know hog football. We NEVER play a full 4 quarters. We always underperform and give wins away. Y’all are gonna win and it’s ok to say so
Another thing is Sam Pitman butchered Nico's last name in the presser, and i think he's gonna use that to make Pitman remember how you say his last name
I’m not overlooking and I don’t think the team is either. Arkansas always plays us well and it’s an SEC road game. It will be a slugfest, but I think the Vols end up on top and end up covering. 36-17 Vols
I remember the 1992 Arkansas game, Tennessee was No.# 4 playing in Neyland Stadium with a 10 game home winning streak going. Arkansas got a punt return and a onside kick in the last 2-3 minutes and kicked a field goal to upset Tennessee 25-24, no Josh I will not be overlooking the hogs come Saturday I just hope Tennessee doesn't. GBO!
Almost all of these players weren't even there for the "bad" years. They don't care about the past, and Heupel doesn't either. This team IS different. Vols pull away after the first quarter 41-17. GBO
Josh I agree with you but it's great they are coming off of a bye. Hype and the staff will have these guys ready to go. The culture is good if not great on the hill. GO VOLS
This game of "football" proves every week that it can take only 1 play to turn a game around from losing to winning the game and no one can predict if or when this 1 play will happen. And that's why it's fun to watch it. With that in mind, I think most everyone knows the Alabama and the Georgia games are Tenn. biggest hurtles to get over.

WOOO PIG SOOIE
Hi Josh, I don’t think any team can overlook anyone. Period. We’ll be ready. GBO 🍊
100% agree with the don’t overlook. Tennessee hasn’t showed me enough to where I’m overlooking low/middle tier SEC teams. However, GO DAMM VOLS.
I feel ya Josh, everytime I feel like we overlook a team we pay for it. And yea I get worried too, Battered Vols Syndrome is a real thing!!
WOOO PIG SOOIE
This Hog fan appreciates you not ripping on my team. Win or lose, we are going to give Tennessee a game. WPS! Go Hogs!
No we won’t. We’ll give them the typical good first half then F it up and suck the rest of the game
The only way that happens is if Pittman can convince them that the T on those helmets stands for Tex-as! Then we might see something.
@@2xxNorMacKxx2hmmm
Who knows.
Give us arkansas's best Saturday night and give us Tennessee best and we see who wins. Go VOLS
GB🍊
Vol grad '87. I' had BVS. Not anymore!
Vols 38 Hawgs 13
🏈🍊🏈🍊🏈🍊🏈🍊🏈
Wrong
I wouldn't put money on the cover just because I think Heupel will be very conservative if it looks comfortable and he will pull some key players early to avoid potential injury and get play time for the guys who need to get up to par in prep for later in the season. That could result in some fourth qtr insanity that brings the score closer than we might like. UT to win though, that bet I would take all day.
Tennessee is going to boat race Arkansas (I’m an Arkansas fan)
Yes
Oh ye of little faith 😂
😂😂😂
Better get your paddle bc Ark won that boat race
We play better on the road than at home.....Cautiously optimistic, heavy on the cautious.
Never, take any game as a win. GO VOLS!!
It’s ok. You can take this game as a gimme win. My hogs suck.
@@2xxNorMacKxx2 South Carolina sucked in 2022!!
@@riverdog1643South Carolina isn’t Arkansas. Trust me. We are a special kind of bad football in Fayetteville
This game kind of gives me Kentucky-Ole Miss vibes. The Vols better be awake.
I would too except Kentucky has Mark Stoops and Arkansas has Sam Pittman. Ya'll are safe for another week.
Well, this has become a norm for Josh Pate now. Ohhhhhh, Tennessee should be worried about NC State, Oklahoma and now Arkansas. Well Momma is wrong again! 😂😂😂
Did you watch the whole video? He said TN to win AND cover -13.5
@@Something-New- What was the first thing he said about the game. Saying the VOLS will win doesn't make up for he really feels about the game.
@@robertbernard6479 Uh... yes it does. Again, he has us by 14.
@@Something-New- No it doesn't when he says" this game scares me." If you want to ride with him go ahead. 🤷♂️
As well they should be scared
I too suffer from BVS. (Battered Vol Syndrome)
GO VOLS!
Arkansas fans have BBS--battered balls syndrome. They step on their own--with cleats.
Arkansas isn't bad but that UT dline isn't gonna struggle against anyone
We are very bad. My hogs can’t beat anyone
At Tennessee Josh Heupel is undefeated after coming off of the bye week
Maybe not the best week to use water against the dam. It's been pretty rough on East TN SW Virginia and NC
I’ve had BVS for the last 15 years 😂 It’s time for some good times! Let go Vols!!
This is exactly the game you want Talen Green as QB. I am not saying the Hogs are going to win, but he could pull off a win with his athletic ability.
Pretty good prediction in hindsight
56-13. We doing them how they did us when Dooley was coaching
How did the game turn out?
BVS is real. Just when you think it's gone it manages to creep in a little but this year is the best I've felt
This will be a Nico highlight reel. I think they may slow down the run and force Nico to throw and he will light them up.
Another one that never watches AR football lol
No Tennessee fam is over looking QB Green and Arkansas a home crowd at night! We will be fortunate to win! We must play mistake free! GBO
lol you have no clue just how bad Arkansas is. Especially at home. You say you’ll be fortunate to win? Dude give it up. My hogs are not gonna beat y’all. We suck. 56-17 Tennessee
@@2xxNorMacKxx2 so about that score prediction there
Two words that make this very different than OK - LANCE HEARD. Nico has his blindside protected and points will go up like a magic pinball machine. Provided the hog's field is not the trailer park grass patch that the Sooners hosted on.
Using the dam analogy wasn't the best timing, given the devastating flooding in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina because of broken dams
As a Vol fan, I’ll say if Arkansas starts playing good for 4 quarters, you cannot overlook them. From a BVS sufferer.
You obviously don’t know hog football. We NEVER play a full 4 quarters. We always underperform and give wins away. Y’all are gonna win and it’s ok to say so
Tough Game ahead ! I got Vols 33 Hogs 24 . Hogs are gonna be ready . GBO
GBO
🍊GO VOLS 🍊
Josh I agree with you but it's great they are coming off of a bye. Hype and the staff will have these guys ready to go. The culture is good if not great on the hill. GO VOLS
I hate these SEC road games at night. Always an advantage for the home team. Love TN did it at Oklahoma let’s hope TN does it again at Arkansas.
Arkansas wins behind great defense and improving offense. A backup quarterback drives for the winning score.
