Thanks for all the work you do in this community even though this is such an old game
Sorcerers and wizards in my old saves now all have Ignition. It seems to be a new cantrip for all arcane casters. Pretty nice, now you can have a cantrip for fire focused casters.
Good to see you around. I know creating builds for these kind of games is both time consuming and complex, so please don't let people pressure you in creating content when you don't want to.
A short and pretty detailed video, unlike what has been put out by others until now. I am really looking forward to your updated companion build videos as you recently put one out for seelah. Would also love to see an update on best party synergy.
Having played around with cloak for a few hours now, I have to say I love the teleport. A few conditions need to be true to make it good: Melee character, not mounted, not using vital strike and turn-based mode. But under those conditions it is awesome. Being able to move 25 feet as a swift action each turn and then do a full attack is a godsend. Currently doing an Azata court poet that likes to spend the first turn singing and crowd controlling but then the next 2 turns hitting stuff and the cloak is exactly what I needed.
Now is the time for cantrip trickster build with gloves that add dmg to cantrip and mythic path for completelynormal to add metamagic, maybe go for legend later on.
I honestly don't mind if heaven strike isn't great, it looks awesome and I reckon it could actually deal a lot of damage with the angel mythic path when combined with sword of heaven. Also having AOE damaging ability as a fighter is just great. Let's you deal with swarms and so on. It really is just something extra because it's not like the archetype otherwise handicaps the fighter like some other archetypes do.
Ooh a summoner would be cool! What kind of summoner would you like? Like elementals, animals, fiends, fey, celestials? Like what kind of flavour would your dream summoner be? Aren’t there some summoners with herald caller, beast tamer bard and monster tactician? I’ve not played those archetypes so I’m curious as to how they didn’t do summoning right. Love your content and it makes me super happy to see WOTR stuff ^O^
they should do something with elementals. No reason to ever use any except the level 9 ones. And the pet elemental kind of makes them irrelevant. Possibly it's elementals get ascendant element for free at level 8? Then at 12, healing your elementals with the same elemental nuke as they are gives them haste and good hope? Have it stack with enforced vigor.
@@acrab6527ooh what about that with a sorcerer archetype that was specific to picking an elemental bloodline! And really playing heavily into just having one element for all your spells from that which works with the buffs to elementals you thought of
It's definitely not getting implemented to Wrath, but Pathfinder has a literal whole class dedicated to summoning, the Summoner. It's largely a pet classed based on a customizable Summon ("Eidolon"), but the 1e version got some buffs to normal summon monster spells iirc
The biggest problem is, that while there are some summoner-based items, even with those altogether, your summons barely and rarely do more, than take away one attack from your enemies, as their stats are so low. On higher level a single spell can destroy all, except your most advanced ones, and even those cannot hold out for long - and their attacks only hit, if they got a Nat 20, but their damage still get nullified most of the time by the enemies DR. If you try to make a necromancy-based built, it's even worse, as half of those items and skills, which boosts the effectiveness of summoned units doesn't do anything on them (like the Superior Summoning feat).
Would LOVE a elemental summoner with strong summons! And longer duration e.g. :) im trying atm a build for the Druid but its hard to build bec. summons atm are not so great.
I feel like Defender of the Hearth could have a weird design built around the heavy shield mythic feat that reflects damage when you're hit, and intentionally sacrificing AC, but that obviously wouldn't work above core very well. You could try using the mask that gives you DR for a round when you get hit. It's hard to imagine multiclassing with it. The Dance of Mask archetypes are still more fun to mess around with. Magic Deceiver -> Eldritch Scoundrel (for cantrips) -> Arcane Trickster is hilarious. Sneak gets applied separately for the separate damage types, so the second that you get the trickster capstone, incendiary runes + snowball alone starts to blow everything up. It's still generally not as good as save-or-die casters, but it's funny.
Thank you for being so quick on the upload. -Could I ask that you make some vids on companion respec builds like with your Seelah video but for the others? You know we would LOVE that.- I found your curated playlist! I'm a dummy. Thank you again and I subbed!
Defender of the Hearth sounds like it could be absolutely ridiculous for a shield bashing Legend build. It is inevitable that a melee character is going to take some hits pretty frequently, and then doing double damage the next turn is just insane.
It’s ANY weapon attacks for the round, so vital strike OR improved finishing great cleave (or whatever the maxed cleave feat winds up being). Either the solo opponent takes effectively quadruple damage OR every mook within ::range:: takes double damage. If you have a tower shield in one set up and a pole arm with the Reach enchantment in a seperate weapon set, you can spend turn 1 on Full defense and then switch to wither the reach weapon or Unga Bunga weapon of your choice.for round two. Add a supplemental caster buffing the heart defended on round one and ooh buddy the ridiculousness I pulled off in an Inevitable Excess test run was stupid.
@@bobroberts2581 With Tower Shield you cannot Shield Bash. The base idea of the Defender of the Hearth doesn't seem too bad for me, but i think it should be made into a Prestige class to comlement other Fighter subclasses - with the Tower Shield Specialist it could use it's shield more versatile, or with the Titan Fighter it could use the Heaven Strike without sacrificing it's defense for the round, when he switch weapons. Keeping some of the bonuses from the base class, like the Armor training or Bravery, so those could scale with the Fighter's initial class bonuses, or gave to mixed-built classes, like a Steelblood Bloodrager/DotH or a Cavalier/DotH. It should get as prerequisite shield profiency, shield bash, medium/heavy armor proficiency, some not too hard to get for a Fighter, but out of normal for the faster or more spell-inclined classes - yet gave them some bonus to use those skills, what they take for the class (like the before mentioned Armor Training make it easier for them to use those effectively, making the problem of losing some of their abilities [which they cannot use in hevier armor] less painful).
the new fighter class seems amazing from what I have played for clearing out mobs in fights. kinda wish though the new aoe move could be used more then once
Just wanted to mention that I really appreciate your videos on this game. Finding help in trying to understand this game seems so daunting, comments from people in other sites feels so elitist.
hey I think it's super worth mentioning in the ruins there's a hidden door and behind it I found a headband that says 'headband of vast intellect +2'. I'm trying to do the dlc at lvl 6 so I'm not sure if that plays a role in loot but this could influence people who want to have pet builds that require intelligence for feats but don't wanna spend a bunch of money on the intelligence headband
I am especially happy they patched the bug with Wenduag. I just wished it had come earlier so that I did not temporarily had to lower the difficulty to retrain the then unable to shift Wenduag.
What about the updated bloodseeker, the class can get very high critical threat on their bite, could stack good with a shifter for more bites and trickster. I wonder how high the chance to crit could go. And the kinetic sharpshooter has a new capstone.
Have you ever considered doing a guide to a full pet party? Just for fun? Every class having some kind of pet or mount. (And I am including the Hag companion as a pet)
So I haven't actually built anything completely, but it looks like you can get 10d3+10 (crossblooded sorcerer)+17d6 (sneak attack+feat+book bonus+sense vitals from a scroll)+intelligence... with a cantrip... Oh, and since this is obviously a legend, you may as well start with trickster so that those cantrips can crit sort of frequently. There are also a couple of items that you can add... the gloves of the neophyte for +1 damage per die, and the Charlatan's locket for always maximized and empowered on cantrips... and point blank shot. So now it's (10d3+21(maximized) (x3))(x1.5)+17d6+3x your intelligence modifier (it doesn't get added to the empowered portion, I checked). So a nearly 300 point damage cantrip. I also didn't check if it stacks with any of the ways of increasing caster level, but that might add more damage to the ridiculous cantrip.
@@ltspyder2177 Not sure really, I just hopped into toybox and used search and pick and found it searching for 'cantrip' so it's in the files, can you actually find it in the game without toybox, no idea. Question: When go with the Legend path, Elemental Vortex can scale with Winter Witch as well, or it count only the base class? It can merge the spellbook, and it's a kind of witch as well... That would increase the maximumnumber of rounds to 5 (as the +10 prestige class maximum), and the damage for the cantrips too would be higher - but only, if the prestige class levels are count towards it.
Heaven strike is pretty decent if you don't/can't charge as a opener and need to walk somewhere. Also, since it doesn't require a attack roll if you're fighting something annoying to hit, especially early on it's also decent.
Can you use the tricksters meta magic that lowers the level of a spell by one? Can you then use that on magic missile? Would you get your Int. Added to each missile? And it be an infinite use cantrip? Or can they not be lowered to level 0
I just tested out Completely Normal Spell and it doesn't work on any of the lowered lvl 1 spells. Only works on cantrips unfortunately. The lvl 20 capstone works on all ranged touch attack dmg spells tho (applied once)
@@goatlord51 dang. I was wondering if you could lower magic missile to a cantrip and cast it infinitely with INT applied to each missile. Thought that might be viable lol. Haha thanks for checking stuff out

Of course, if there are some sweet perks that go with that $9.99 a month membership I would have to think about it! Is there a reason you start your memberships at so a high price?
Is Keen-Eyed Adventurer witch what you'd recommend for a blaster caster then? Is it viable to be a good blaster caster on difficulties below unfair, even?
I just stared playing lord of nothing on ps4 and no trophies are popping. Anyone having this issue as well? I was playing through the ashes yesterday before this patch and all the trophies were popping just fine.
Maybe I missed it, but does the improved cantrips for the keen-eyed adventurer works with level 1 spells that were turned into cantrips with completely normal spell?
Its a free DLC, so no complaints and I understand the archetypes are meant to be thematic, but they kind of suck. To be fair, they dont give much up, but they do not add a lot either. Cantrip damage is still going to be pathetic even with the bonuses the witch archetype gets and its a particular odd class to add it to as hexes are also unlimited and some are very good. If you really want to focus on unlimited ray attacks, just go devil with arcane trickster and crossblooded dip (start as azata for zippy magic) or kineticist. Its alignment restricted, but Hag of Gyrona is way more powerful an archetype and witch of the veil has a much more practically useful defensive ability. This archetype is an acceptable alternative to a base witch if you dont want the spontaneous casting of Leyline Guardian and want to pick your patron freely for specific patron spells. Honestly though, I would prefer the 3 extra hexes of the base witch. Unless you are being extremely stingy with rests, there is no good reason to be casting cantrips. The tank archetype requires that you get hit by a physical attack, which is not what a tank wants to be doing and is also only a moderate damage reduction for a small number of hits per round. The capstone might be a powerful effect if triggered (it depends what it actually multiplies), but again, it requires getting hit at least once a round to get the most out of it, which frankly is just going to get you killed very quickly. If you are reliably getting hit once a round, you are taking a lot more than 1 hit on average. The level 5 ability is good when you get it. No criticals presumably (no attack roll) and as your APR scales, this ability will start to be a rubbish use of a standard action when this means not taking a full attack action. But at level 5, you only have 1 APR anyway and always hitting is very nice at that level, as is the AOE effect given you would only get 1 APR anyway. It least its better than tower shield specialist. The cloak will be BIS for characters who do not have an excellent bound of possibility cloak (basically, Demon and Aeon).
Personally I love Defender of the Hearth There is this weird sentiment in nearly every CRPG that if you are getting hit you are playing wrong, but I find that playing that way makes the game so faceroll that it isn't even remotely fun. I go out of my way to run front line classes with high, but not broken AC, damage reduction and actually healing in combat because it makes the game far more engaging to play that way rather than just stacking so much AC that you are unhittable. Pajama tanks are not required on the hardest difficulty of this game.... they make the game far less fun, and I wish the CRPG players would learn that healing in combat is a thing that actually works.
@@cRPGBroomg fuck yeah neverwinter nights :D that makes me happy! Have you ever considered making videos on it? Was it 1 or 2 and the base game or the dlc? I played a cleric when I played because I found it a lot harder than modern crpgs and clerics were really strong. I was a cleric with animal domain and summoned creatures to help me :D
Swift action teleport is actually very powerful. If its the difference between a single attack or a full attack action (which it easily could be), that is a potentially huge damage increase for that round. It can also be a great defensive ability. 1 DC is nice, but its only 1 on a d20. Its never going to dramatically change the likelihood of success. As an aside, evocation is a decent school. Obviously doing double the damage or not being evaded entirely is a big deal, but also, selective sirocco and mass icy prison are decent CC effects. And with the bracers of blasting, it is a school you can add a total of 4DC to with school specific items. For a magic deceiver in particular (admittedly, a disappointing class for the effort they clearly put into it, with the totally unnecessary removal of bonus slots from charisma and the almost total lack of buffs requiring you have another arcane caster), this allows a hefty increase to DC that you can nearly always apply to any spell, as evocation is the best option for making party friendly AoEs, particularly the chain lightening zippy magic combo.
WotR's main problem are bloated stats, which makes most of the abilities and spells useless. This game really needs Enhanced Enhanced Edition, where whole game will be redesigned.
Absolutely a company of the people

Is Keen-Eyed Adventurer witch what you'd recommend for a blaster caster then? Is it viable to be a good blaster caster on difficulties below unfair, even?
I have watch your pathfinder videos for a long time. A group with 1 main character, + 5 mercenaries, to create the ultimate group.
What would it be?
I just stared playing lord of nothing on ps4 and no trophies are popping. Anyone having this issue as well? I was playing through the ashes yesterday before this patch and all the trophies were popping just fine.
Maybe I missed it, but does the improved cantrips for the keen-eyed adventurer works with level 1 spells that were turned into cantrips with completely normal spell?
It does not, apparently.
These archetypes are seeming less like they're in the Pathfinder rules system and just Owlcat having fun.
Can you make a magic deceiver build please or atleast share you thoughts on it's mechanics like you did for mythic paths back in the day.
Where the other companion builds 🥺
Fear not, they shall continue soon with Ember Update next!

Im kinda sad defender of the hearth cant keep dropping swords like that, that would be the final fantasy tactics build ive always dreamed of
What do you mean with dropping swords? You mean use that aoe attack more often?
@@dmsephiroth yes
Personally I love Defender of the Hearth
There is this weird sentiment in nearly every CRPG that if you are getting hit you are playing wrong, but I find that playing that way makes the game so faceroll that it isn't even remotely fun.
FYI, Ignition is not unique to the Keen-Eyed Adventurer Witch.
I hope you are alright you didn’t upload in awhile
Thank you!
I'm fine, was just (re)playing a lot of Neverwinter Nights & Cyberpunk 2077 😁
@@cRPGBro Ooh, Neverwinter Nights! Which one, out of curiosity? I really enjoyed 1, but I also have a soft spot for 2.
Hey!! Pode me ajudar!!! Qual build vc recomenda para quem quer iniciar no jogo?
Agradeço desde ja ❤
Kinky-eyed adventurer.
Would you be interested making pathfinder Kingmaker builds?
Ok hear me out... Keen eyed adventurer Gold Dragon for 6D10+20 cantrips...l
I'm sorry, what? Did I just see you do well over 800 damage with a single cast of a cantrip? lmao

WotR's main problem are bloated stats, which makes most of the abilities and spells useless.
This game really needs Enhanced Enhanced Edition, where whole game will be redesigned.
And Pets nerfed a bit. They are too strong.
The "bloat" is only on unfair and such tbh
