It was very unnecessary to make Daniel and Johnny going back to being against each other after everything they’ve been through. It’s because the writers don’t have anything new to make use of their friendship that was developed last season.

@@bobbyjohnson9409same Here and with you on that (kinda). As much as I would love for it to go for another season or 2 till they can put to a point to really end the series, that way to remove any flaws they might have and not rush it out to stretch this season to 15 episodes, and have like 20-30 more (than call it enough) for at least more smooth story along with the characters we love, and more comedy (but not too far plot lines within the episodes. Ex. Johnny’s scene at dealership in ep. 5). I see the hugest flaws of what has occurred and what would have been like if they had that approach before (to begin with). (See how this season would’ve been, if it wasn’t the series finale).
And again. Like any Great Tremendous series that’s always close to perfect (no movie/show/or series is perfect) you can’t overstay your welcome. And this one is no accept ion based on what it’s throwing at us.

And they just have made Daniel so dumb at this point. In season 4, he finally understood Eagle Fang wasn't that bad. So why is he so hellbent against it again? Every time Johnny takes time to teach the kids, in the only way he knows how, he continues to freak out.. We saw that in season 4, when he didn't accept it. Or did reluctantly... Okay, we get it...
It was a new thing for Daniel. But he's been around Johnny long enough to know his ways and to have just accepted it by now... Otherwise, why are they still working together? But now he's not again? WTF. Why are they repeating the same DAMN thing again, like this is the first time Daniel has ever worked with Johnny. This is just beyond annoying at this point.

Burning questions for parts 2 and 3:
    1. Why did Miyagi keep all that incriminating stuff, and then just bury it?
    2. Will we find out what Terry was doing in the hospital in Season 5?
    3. What really happened at Applebees with Johnny?
    4. If the Sekai Takai is basically Part 2, then what will the final five episodes be about?
    5. Will Silver show up in parts 2 and 3? What about Miguel's Dad? Snake, Dennis, or even Dutch? I don't really care about Julie Pierce (especially if the spoiler rumors about her are true - lame IMHO), but would love to see all the others. Bringing them all back to the Sekai Takai in one way or another would be pretty awesome, I think.

@@FranG1214 Basically like another for the fans type of fight thing. (Like chozen vs Barnes), however the way that was in there, it did work for the way the episode played out along with the fans. And the story itself.
This one just sort of adds to more of how toxic Johnny is becoming now. There are a lot that he has coming his way, yes, (Like a practice of him and Devon) cause he’ll be a girl dad along the way while also being a dad to Robby and Miguel. However, those two elements are way too completely separate.
Yes he wants the best for who he cares bout most, but this is the Seikai Taikai we’re talking bout. Either he doesn’t see it the way how Barnes is judging it, or he does but still not care from minding his own business to what he’s doing to judge best of the best, instead of just results from the foot race.
Another thing, yes, he did beat up 5 of silvers goons, but doing so after getting beaten up that much. Uhh, yeeeahhh 😬no matter how strong the dynamic he was, yeeeah, we’ll leave it as it is, cause it’s behind us.
Plus, Barnes should’ve never lose to Johnny like ever. Sure Johnny picked up techniques along the way, but don’t you think Barnes would’ve known those types by now along with his fighting techniques. Yeah, everything’s just becoming so frustrating.

Don't forget Devon, probably one of the most likable newer characters, being a super villain now and poisoning Kenny with laxatives so he can poop himself and not take her spot. That was just a super weird scene. Taking too many can actually kill someone. How horrible does that make her, to do that, just to make the team. The show has become really strange.
How do you redeem her character after that? I would never, ever, forgive someone if they did that to me. That is super evil. Just to make the team. Her character is forever horrible now.

My biggest problem right now is the stakes. Since they don't know Cobra Kai is entering then it makes character motivation weird. The Tournament is held every 2 years so its not like they can't enter again. So things Devon poisoning Kenny? Robby feeling like he's got nothing if he doesn't win this time, Daniel getting mad that Johnny about the best team but if they lose nothing happens and at the same time Daniel wanted Anthony to go? If they don't know Cobra Kai is going why is it so important they win this time?

Especially if silver is entering back into the mix, hidden somewhere behind the shadows. Just because he was taken out at end of season 5, doesn’t mean he’s out for good. He will still easily get out of jail due to the best lawyers he has, then enter the tournament (partnering with iron dragons or someone). And if win, can use that to spread out the name, but still call it as Cobra Kai, or just “Silver”.
      Along with bragging rights.
Cause remember. Cobra Kai, Never Dies.

Nice breakdown. I do think the segmented release schedule makes it tougher to evaluate. Like you mentioned, there were several things I didn't think were that great in Part 1, but I'm willing to at least partly reserve judgment until we see the finished product and how and whether some of these issues are resolved. Perhaps some of these will make more sense in the context of the rest of the season and the entire series.
My biggest problem with Part 1 so far is: why in the hell would Mr. Miyagi save all this random incriminating stuff? To remind himself of what not to be or who he was? Then why would he have buried it? It seems to all be just a mcguffin for Daniel's character arc, but not much else. Perhaps we will find out he has some connections to Master Kim or to even to Kwon, but I think that'd only be mildly interesting and also a little lame in a Star Wars-esque kind of way. Hopefully the next parts will tie it up better. And I wish they'd just release the last 10 episodes in November. Don't make us wait, lol.

I'm wondering why Daniel and Johnny can never get along, and despite that, why do they keep trying? The only answer I can come up with is that they’re simply unable to coexist peacefully, but if that's the case, what explains the undeniable soft spot they have for each other? There have been moments when Johnny seems to genuinely admire Daniel-he’s impressed by him and even protective at times. Also, Daniel has shown that he cares about Johnny, helping him out in so many ways.
I hope their issues CAN be resolved, but that hasn't happened yet. They might need to confront the roots of their rivalry, which might trace all the way back to the events in The Karate Kid. What do you think?

I am very sure they will get along in the end of season 6 and maybe even before. Funny is Johnny acts now much more like Miyagi-Do then Daniel. When Daniel punched him in the nose he just took it without punching back. And Johnny had so much growth he even said they stay one team in the tournament. The Johnny from season 4 would have left M-D with his students.
But we see now something that many never saw:
Since Daniel always won when he was young (against Johnny, Chozen and Barnes), he didnt need to grow. He didnt face the experience and pain of a terrible loss.
Barnes, Chozen and Johnny all grew in some ways, but Daniel never did. He sometimes still acts like 17 years old. When he faces something he doesnt like, he freaks out and loses control. He is the pure definition of a control freak.
But in the end I wouldnt be surprised if Johnny takes over Miyagi-Do and continiues the legacy of Miyagi in the Valley, and Daniel retires and becomes a full-time car seller again, thats what he but also Amanda wants.

I know you're gonna hate me, but I'd like if Miyagi's Secret is that he killed someone in the Sekai Taikai ON PURPOSE just to demonstrate his power/ his father's Karate etc. Then after the Tournament he meets his opponant's wife, family whatever. Then he started to realize what he actually did. Only then he became the wise master we know, because "never put emotion over principle, even if you win, you lose" started from that situation. I know you're gonna hate me for that but can't we just acknowledge that Miyagi was a normal human being and not some sort of superhero (even if he was a war hero).

That fight Chozen/Silver fight... then later Daniel/Silver fight from S5 seemed it might have been a satisfying conclusion to the series. If we see a Daniel/Silver rematch for S6... that would be hard to top the S5 fight.

Both Robby and Miguel wanted to be the male captain so bad. Demetri cheated too and was upset that Hawk didn't want to go to MIT. Tory's mom's death really shook her up and played a part in her rejoining Kreese. Sure,, a lot of fans didn't want to see the characters revert to their old, antagonistic ways, but they're going to need to come back together and use their animosities to fight in a very dangerous tournament.

Just a guess. I’m not sure if the timing is right for that or not. Or just maybe someone who’d abused Myagi or someone he loved. Maybe the necklace he stole was something the “mope” had stolen from him first. Also just a guess. But those are 2 ways to make Myagi not a “reformed criminal”. I think the big 3 are smart and careful enough to handle it right and give us as satisfactory answer.

But however sometimes you can’t always trust movie critics or fan critics. I really loved Cobra Kai season six part one and one of my favorite scenes part one was when Tory Nichols rejoined Cobra Kai because her mother died and when Tory Nichols fights aggressively against Sam at Miyagi Do. I wasn’t expecting Tory to rejoin Cobra Kai in part one. I thought that Tory was going to stay at Miyagi Do.

I actually agree with most of your points here. While certain things I can shrug, I wholeheartedly agree with ur opinion on Johnny and Daniel beef.
The only thing I disagreed with was about Miyagi’s past because I think that can be an interesting story. Miyagi came home from the war only to realize that his family was dead and he basically lost everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some dark years where he let his trauma win but managed to land on his feet like you said and by the time we meet him in the first karate kid movie, he’s a changed man who’s healed from his demons and become who we know and love. However, I understand and respect your transgressions.

Tory's arc is the bright spot of the season so far. I don't understand Johnny's constant loss of progress. I think they wrote him as too much of a dumbass to ever fully make a believable recovery at this point. Why doesn't he just get a nice job as a port-a-potty service man, then he can be constantly covered in shit and we can just call him port-a-johnny. I hear it pays decent, but you have to take shit from everyone. He can change his dojo name to Johnny Eagle Doo, where you can learn to Shit like an Eagle. I don't know where I am going with this rant, just that I am not satisfied with many facets of this season, and I hope the final 10 episodes pull it out of the crapper. That Stingray scene was totally unnecessary as well. I never liked that character and don't want to see him again.
Also I thought we would get more scenes between Tory and Chozen in season 6, since we got that very nice scene between them in season 5. An interaction between them as proper sensei and student was one of the scenes I was waiting for the most since season 5, sad to not get it. Hopefully we get a few scenes between them in the next parts or so.
Also I cannot believe this show got me to dislike both Daniel and Johnny at the same time in this show. Daniel with his nepotism willing to choose Anthony over Tory? And Johnny with his antics at the car dealership were not good either.
Then for all we know no one in Miyagi-Do, not even Robby, ran after Tory as she stormed out of the dojo. Hope that's rectified soon.
I didn't hate these five episodes but they weren't amazing either. Hopefully parts 2 and 3 are way better and this first part also is better to watch with the other parts.

I actually enjoyed some of the humourous light hearted scenes in season 6, even if they didn't contribute to the overall story that much. But there were some frustrations. Mike losing to Johnny was annoying. Was glad they finally made Miguel lose a fight though. In season one Robby was the better fighter, at least in a tournament anyway, and would've won if he wasn't injured. But ever since they've made Miguel beat everyone.

Now if his actor was dealing with something at the time and needed time then I will admit it's okay to happen off screen but still.
The only thing that could save this season is stop having Daniel and Johnny fight although in this case it's understandable because I think Johnny is the only one who truly understands what Tory wanted and needed. The way I see some of the points.
    Miyagi's past:
Life is complicated and takes you down many different directions that no one can predict. Put yourself in Miyagi's shoes, he ran from Okinawa so he wouldn't have to fight his best friend to the death, moved to Hawaii got married, then was placed in an internment camp. He joined the military to help out his wife and unborn child. Only to when he gets home to find out that the people that he had been fighting for let his wife and child die. I don't see anyone being "balanced" after going through all of that. Chances are he was a very angry person for a long while, probably even flirted with alcoholism. Also keep in mind that from the end of the war to when he met Daniel was some 40 years, a person can change a lot during that time.
    Kreese going back and forth:
Money, and lots of it. They have the ability to make fake passports that would make it through customs I'm sure. Chances are Silver has several of them.
    The break up:
Yeah I hate that stuff. Back in the first couple of seasons Ralph stated something along the lines of the Ross and Rachel will they or won't they. The thing is they drag this storyline out way too long, by season 4 of Friends I personally was sick of it and didn't want them to get together. Both of Ross's on screen wives were much better than him and Rachel could have ever been.

What bothers me is that the South Korean Cobra Kai students *have no idea* that Miyagi-Do exists or that they are about to fight in a tournament; yet they are supposed to eternal enemies to each other.
It makes sense that the original Cobra Kai in South Korea isn't interested in Kreese's rivalries, as Master Kim Sun-Yung takes a very decentralized approach to people setting up "franchises".
He doesn't tell them what to do, doesn't demand a cut in the business profits, etc. Kreese and Silver trained under him over 50 years ago, and he hadn't once done anything to promote his teachings.
I got the sense that he *liked* being "secretive" and that he wasn't doing this to be popular or win tournaments, but because he genuinely believes in his creed.
So what does he and his students get out of this? They don't care about the rivalry, so it's not based on "revenge" or ancient hatreds. They have ten episodes to resolve ALL of these problems, and I just didn't see how they can do that in such a short span of time; unless each episode is an hour long or something.

This season is very disjointed. I still think the best ending would be with Miguel as the champion and Johnny as once again the Cobra Kai sensei. The show was at it's BEST with Johnny and Miguel. When stingray is trying to convince Johnny to be the Cobra Kai sensei again, it seemed to be going that way by the way Johnny reacted but then the next scene is Johnny just giving up and telling Daniel that it SHOULD be Miyagi Do. That's just one example of weird scene to scene flip flops

I think Miyagi's whole story won't be a giant misunderstanding. The big three talked about it, they thought the POV that Miyagi was perfect with no flaw was unrealistic. And what they're trying to paint this as a reference to is a kid growing up idolizing their parents but realizing they made an unfortunate decision. How life comes with ups and downs and realizing that even though they made a mistake, those mistakes made them who they are. They said they wanted to make Daniel look at Mr Miyagi like just another human being. They said they don't intend to undo Mr Miyagi's good things, but to paint a full picture rather than see him as a deity.
So it being a giant misunderstanding contradicts two things here. How is Daniel going to see Mr Miyagi on the same dignity if it all turns out Miyagi was good all along. And two, they make it clear he probably did make a mistake even if it was honourable. The only question is how vile? My guess is he was in a bad emotional state after the war similarly to Kreese (Hurwitz said Kreese was supposed to be a good man that anyone could be turned down a dark path), perhaps this necklace belonged to his wife, they refused to give it over. And Miyagi beat them up enraged. I feel whatever happened at the tournament as they said for "mistakes made them who they are" I feel the Sekai Taikai is what made Miyagi turn to that competitions are bad and "win, lose" no matter.
In terms of Johnny and Daniel. I think their arc is amazing. It's not repetitive because between the two their is no rivalry unlike Season 4 but Johnny is done with Daniel. But like the writers said and I figured it out the second it happened, they both learned their lesson, don't project this problem onto the kids. That's why Johnny says he'll stay to train the kids. Their conflict in Episode 5 is fantastic. Two people stuck in their beliefs (S4 reunion made it clear they're still set in their ways), genuinely trying to help a girl who lost her mother in the ways they think is best. Daniel including Amanda, Sam, and Robby sided with wanting the fight to stop. But Johnny made it personal cause not only has his roots of a Cobra Kai never abandoned him (ie coping with anger) but him remembering the day his mother died 100% stuck with him considering she was the only person he cared about, and he had no way of taking out his anger. So in his eyes, Daniel is letting that happen to Tory, and that enrages him because he feels he actually can help someone do something he wasn't able to do, and Daniel mentions Mr. Miyagi. Something Johnny was growing tired of as Season 6 went along. Which is a fault of the fact Daniel didn't mention to Johnny he was about to give up his dojo name which may have softened Johnny if he realized Daniel was humbler than he thinks.

I personally don’t want a Miyagi prequel, I think with a character like Miyagi less is more. My hope with the box is that maybe Miyagi had a student long before Daniel who was beaten to a pulp or maybe even to death in the tournament, maybe this is why Miyagi didn’t like tournaments and didn’t teach a more aggressive side to karate anymore. Maybe he trained boxing once upon a time to make his karate more aggressive but turned his back on all that after this event

Johnny needs to find a way to mature differently. That fight with Johnny fighting Mike was nothing all because Johnny is not understanding purposes of Mike's selection. Johnny was wrong for not sharing his feeling for Tory's loss and Daniel was right for stopping the fight seeing Tory's dangerous state after what happened in the past and now. How was Johnny trying to usurp LaRusso Auto? Too bad Chozen had to leave without seeing the importance of Captain in the sekai taikai. Amanda was wrong for snitching. Eventually they will get back together as a team. I hope they can make the Miyagi-Do win so Daniel steps down leaving Johnny to run Mr. Miyagi's legacy.

Johnny beating Mike, especially as easily as he did was 100% plot armor because he's the main character, nothing more. The theories of Mike "being rusty" and Johnny being "more active" are not viable since we just saw Mike fight in season 5. He fought Chozen to a draw, who Johnny's not at the level of, and made the easiest work of those instructors while he was conscious during that fight. He knocked each of them out with 1 hit, including saving Johnny's life from the toughest of them all who he couldn't beat on 2 different occasions. The "Johnny's been cross-training in Miyagi-Do now" excuse isn't believable to me either since it's only been a short time and he's not at Chozen's level. Considering Mike fought Chozen to a draw and destroyed Daniel in the tournament in the 80s, he's no stranger to Miyagi-Do and Johnny didn't have anything special to offer him in such a short period of time. Plus, Mike isn't the 1st person on the show to roll off the couch decades later and still have it. Johnny's buddies in season 2 showed they still got it in that bar fight, especially Bobby. Terry Silver had as much time off as Mike and he's able to kick just about everyone's ass on the show. No one ever brings that up about them. So this was 100% plot armor taken too far. It should have gone to a draw to avoid hurting either characters' images. If they don't bring Mike back in a future episode or spin-off and beat Johnny in a rematch or someone who Johnny can't beat, they essentially destroyed his image and brand as "Karate's bad boy," unless you're someone who can write it off as plot armor.

This summed up my thoughts exactly. Season 3 ended with Daniel and Johnny finally on the same side only for them to split up again in season 4 but at least they worked things out. In season 5 they legitimately felt like friends which was awesome. The fact that the writers felt the need to regress them like this and do a literal repeat of season 4 is ridiculously frustrating. It makes me wonder if this is a result of the writers not having enough story for 15 episodes and maybe they're just repeating these plots to fill time.

The key word here is PART 1. This is not its own season, it’s the first 5 episodes of a 15 episode season. Saying it’s the worst season because of the pacing is like saying a movie is bad after only watching the first 45 minutes of it, when it has 90 more left to go. We need to wait and decide how good/bad the season is once we can watch it all concurrently. You can’t judge something when there are missing pieces still yet to be uncovered

After 40 years and 5 prior seasons, the Sekai Taikai was one tournament they should’ve been totally in_sync for. Them being at odds once AGAIN, especially after the major growth in Season 5, that only made for major backtracking at the end of Part 1 in season 6. BIG mistake.

I can definitely echo the conflict for conflict's sake sentiment. Most of the times it felt out of place and out of character, not only with Johnny but also with characters like Tory, for example. Her leaving like that, joining Cobra Kai, and no one else trying to get to her before the reveal, was a little too much.

Season 5 ending was terrible. It made no sense at all.
3 grown men attack silver at his house based on no recent provocation. Nothing recently had happened other than Mike Barnes being upset saying silver burned his store. (Was it ever confirmed it was silver? Only ever seemed implied and never by silver).
The kids go to the dojo after hours and hack security footage. Dumb
      Dojo fight was dumb.
Daniel fights silver at silvers dojo. Silver loses to Daniel just dumb.
Kenny who was fine all season with cheating upon seeing the video of silver admitting to bribery is done with silver.
Stingray who made a false witness and lied at the hospital and in court for personal gain, recants in a parking lot.
Silver is being arrested. Again for what? Nothing that night was on him. Was he being arrested for bribing a ref of an under 18 karate tournament? Get out of here.
I get it. There were a lot of call backs. And it had all the “good guys” teamed up against the big bad. But it was just all dumb. They wrapped it up in a bow like they did because they probably thought that was it until Netflix said go ahead and do 1 more.

Yeah, I didn't like how they nerfed Mike Barnes this season. He held his own against Chozen quite well in season 5, so I think it should've been a tie between him and Johnny.
I didn't like the split between Johnny and Daniel either, but I do appreciate how the writers made sure that it was multiple things that led to it, not just one. (The whole dealership thing, Johnny confronting Mike Barnes behind Daniel's back, Daniel not letting Tory fight, etc.) and let's be honest, Tory would've busted Sam's nose if Daniel hadn't stopped her.
From all the comments I've read on other videos, a lot of people are arguing over who's in the right and wrong between Robby and Tory. Some say that Tory is a bad girlfriend for not telling Robby right away after her mom died, and some say that Robby is a bad boyfriend for not going after her when she left Miyagi Do. I know it's just a show, but their actions/inactions are quite accurate to how these things would play out in real life. The reason why Tory didn't answer her phone when Robby tried to call her was because she didn't have the energy to talk, and the reason why Robby didn't go after her when she left was because he was giving her time to grieve, and that's also why none of the others reached out to her afterward.
Of course, none of us expected Tory to rejoin Cobra Kai at the end. Maybe we'll see a flashback in part 2 of how she approached Kreese and rejoined his side. Or maybe he approached her? Who knows.
That being said, I'm gonna quote Green Lantern here: "She's had an unfathomable loss, and she needs time to process it."
Also, sorry for the long comment.

About the Johnny vs Barnes thing: I dont understand why people have problems with it. Mike s offensive is 10 out of 10, but he lacks defensive. Johnny back in the 80s was offensive 9 out of 10 but also with almost no defensive. Today Johnny s defense has evolved while Mike still has none. So its fair Johnny won.
Look the fight again. When Johnny tried his Cobra Kai offensive, Barnes got the upperhand, I mean when both fought offensive. Then Barnes tried to insult Miyagi-Do, calling it soft with meditation etc., and Johnny began to use Miyagi-Do against Barnes, the defense, and Barnes couldnt deal with it. So basically Johnny didnt just defend the Miyagi name, he also used it to beat Barnes in end.
    Other things:
Only one guy (maybe others did it too, I didnt see all reviews) pointed out he found that thing with Kreese and the white magic Cobra and the mystical snake venom very weird. When I saw Kreese going in the cave, I felt more like watching Indiana Jones in _Raiders of the lost Ark_ instead of _Cobra Kai_ , when Indy tried to get the Arc, fell down and had all the cobra snakes around him.
And this venom is also very fictional. Its possible the Kim clan uses that stuff to make people loyal, removing their weaknesses and softness, and all warm and positive feelings they have for others. And I really dont hope we gonna see in part 2 Tory got a shot from that stuff too to make her loyal, removing her warm feelings to Robby, Sam and the others, and that was the reason she joined Cobra Kai, not just because her mom died (or was killed).
So I hope this venom thing was used only once and wont show up again. It was more like from an Indiana Jones movie, like when Indy got drugged by antagonist Mole-Ram in _Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom_ .
One of my concerns for part 2 is that they did a kind of _Santa Barbara_ soap opera gossip dramas among the teenys in Barcelona during the tournament, means:
    1) "Big" Axel Kovacevic flirts with Sam or even more.
    2) Jaesung Kwon flirts with Tory or even more.
    3) Zara Malik flirts with Miguel/Robby or even more.
    4) Draga flirts with Miguel/Robby or even more.
If all four points would become true, I could only shake my head in disbelieve, that would be like a character assassination for the valley teenys. I really hope they didnt do that! Otherwise I would criticize Jon, Josh and Hayden (or the people on Netflix) to hire such writers, because writers who write stuff like this most probably work part-time for some gossip plattorms like TMZ etc..

@@mikelo9266 Many people thought Barnes was stronger as Johnny, at least when they were young which is very likely. But I always found Barnes overrated by fans like Ken Cole etc.. Daniel was in a bad mindstate during the whole _KK3_ movie, even before Barnes and Silver showed up.
In _KK1_ Daniel fought for Ali, in _KK2_ he fought for Kumiko, but he didnt fight for Jessica in _KK3_ , and Daniel can only reach his 100% when someone he loves is on the line. This seems to be the same with Robby. We saw now in S6E5 he needs Tory, he only reaches his 100% when she watches him, she also watched im in S4E8 during the prom fight, when Robby was also 100% and got the upperhand over Miguel.
Only after Barnes insulted Miyagi in the end, calling him a fake, phony, what he teaches is no karate at all, that was the moment when Daniel took it personal. Then his real fighting spirit awoke and he brought out his best karate, and he defated Barnes with one move.
If Barnes had a knife on the throut of Kumiko for exmaple, Daniel would have fought him with a complete different mindset as he did in _KK3_ , but too many fans simply dont understand it.
My stats would be like this (the young versions):
      Offensive/Defensive
      Johnny: 9.5/5
      Barnes: 10/5
      Daniel: 6/10
      Chozen: 9/9
Chozen was in totality the most complete. He didnt have a real weakness, and he only lost to Daniel because of The Drum, but also because of his mindset, he fought against (all population including his uncle Sato), Daniel fought for (Kumiko, all population of Miyagi's village incl Miyagi and Sato).
Barnes offensive was the best, but his defense was always basicall non existence. And Johnny has improved there.

Part 1 should have been everyone training and learning new skills. Pick the team in episode 1-2. Then you have Daniel, Johnny, Chozen, and Barnes train the main 6 and the 2 backups.
As for the Tori vs Sam fight. Johnny, who also lost his mother at a young age and knows Tori better than Daniel literally said that’s what she needed, to fight. I would say Tori gained the point due to Daniel interference when Tori was going to have the point. The fight will postpone for now and continue tomorrow. Then I would take Tori will me (Johnny) to talk. Johnny can tell her how he lost his mom at a young age and was just full of sadness and anger for a long time. Tell her how Kreese was like a father figure for him and had him channel those negative emotions which turned him into a bad person. Apologize to her for not being there for her in the past but will be there for her moving forward.

The last 3 seasons have pretty much sucked. Didn't Daniel in his own words say "Some of Eagle Fang is good".... Now he's back to Miyagi-Do 100%! And freaking out when Johnny teaches any of his methods? Like then WTF is the purpose of Johnny, to be Daniel's pet? Daniel is so unlikable now.
Is Daniel just the dumbest clown out there, or are the writers out of ideas, where they need to recreate fake friction between the two again. It was old by season 3. It's very old by season 6 and none of it even makes sense! lol... They teamed up because they finally embraced each other's differences, only to, completely fight about their differences, AGAIN!!
Johnny and Daniel have spent enough time around each another to get used to the fact both are different. And it seemed like both were at peace with it by season 5.
And their differences weren't even causing any conflict! Just dumb writing. Makes no sense.
And the big reveal of Tory going back to Cobra Kai, was just super dumb. No logic to it at all, just for the shock value. Her last scene with Kreese pretty much told us she knows he used her (which he did) and that she doesn't trust him. Eh, okay, back on Kreese's side. WHAT? Nothing even makes sense anymore. I guess they don't want us to think at all. I can forgive how absurd it is a felon like Kreese is able to fly all over the world like it's nothing at least. All these twists and turns, that don't make any sense. I hate it.

Cobra Kai S6 part 1 is the Same Thing apparently. I feel like there were just so many setbacks that were resolved throughout out the series shouldn’t have gotten rehashed again at all especially where Johnny and Daniel are concerned because that’s a big part of what caused part 1 to get (Squished) like a grape. Also you’re not the only one that noticed Sam’s growth and maturity being the most prominent and positive thing in part 1, I noticed it too especially in episodes 3 and 5. I believe as well that Johnny was more out of line then Daniel was (not that Daniel was without his own faults and didn’t add to it) and seems to forget that doing things the Miyagi Do way is what he signed up for at the end of episode 1 nor does ever even acknowledge that Miyagi also saved his life and if I’m being honest I would have preferred watching a scene where Robby, Amanda, or even Devon were shown going after Tory, trying to convince her to stay as opposed to watching Daniel and Johnnys little hissy fit over who’s fault it was that she left in the first place. I give Sam a free pass because it wouldn’t have been a good idea for her to approach Tory in that moment after she left until she at least calmed down after a day or two.
