    That sucks with the XD4, I have not had those issues with wind noise or shield on mine. I am running the Mosko moto 80L reckless solution for my bags and love them. I also remove the passenger pillion seat for added room and bring the bags more into alignment as if a passenger was on the back. I do think it funny how much weight we add to the motorbikes with farkel and gear. Great video as usual, keep them coming.

      Thanks for that, yeah im definitely a bit disappointed in the Helmet especially build quality. Yeah I like those bags, I just need something I can quickly access from the top and is lockable for the next big trip.

    I'm thinking about swapping my Multistrada Enduro for a Desert X, after almost breaking my leg on my recent trip to the Andean highlands. I'm researching DDX and found your channel, really cool! I usually have my filming stuff in my tank bag, a 20L waterproof Givi GRT715. I wanted to ask you: 1) which tank bag would you use on the DDX and 2) the DDX doesn't have a center stand, how do you clean and maintain the chain when traveling? Thank you for sharing your experiences with DDX!

      They are definitely two different bikes thats for sure. Im probably the worst person to ask that question as I dont like using tank bags. I keep all my camera gear in my panniers. As for the centre stand you can get them for the ddx if you prefer, but I just use a travel stand made from a pair of crutches.

    I had Hepco & Becker hard paniers on my XT1200 and found them pretty good quality not sure how they would fare with a decent drop. Try FIVE gloves great,

      Thanks for the tip about the five gloves. They only had one set of the trail/adventure gloves in 3XL and they fit great 👍

    Like your set up. Curious to know about your Wera Tools. Is that specific to the DDX or is it generic set. Name of it too if you have it.

      Thanks for that, The Wera tools are just a normal generic set not bike specific, just good for all round use really. Wera 05004016001 8100 SA 6 Zyklop Metric Speed Ratchet Set, 28 Piece, 1/4" Drive

    Thanks for this helpful info!! I’m considering trading my Harley Pan Am for one of these and found your channel. Just got back from an epic adventure in Costa Rica on a T700 but wanted something more powerful and DX seems to be it. Tried a 790 ADV (not R) but didn’t like the riding position

      @koalakoncepts  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No worries Alex 👍 Yeah there was a few things about the 790 I wasn't a fan of. But very happy with the Desert X. Glad you rode the T7 inbetween as it would be a massive change from the Pan Am.

    Perhaps braces / suspenders for the trousers might help. I like motorbike trousers a little loose so they don’t dig in to your waist and the braces stop them sliding down when I get off the bike.

      @koalakoncepts  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's definitely an option, just not a fan of braces. Especially when Ive had other pants that do a better job.

    Nice setup. One more "ride by" request 🙂 You have the same protection (enduro option crash bars, skid plate and water pump) as me. I've noticed a very weird chirp buzz noise at exactly 3600rpm. At any gear but exactly 3600rpm. Nothing at 3500rpm and nothing at 3700rpm. It literally sounds like birds chirping.

      Ive never heard of the chirp noise but the buzz noise could be from the crash bars and water pump protector, just make sure they are done up correctly.

    Dude, DON’T do the hard panniers. You owe it to yourself to check out the Magadan panniers from Adventure Spec in the UK. I bought the first gen set years ago and they have proven themselves to be the best panniers that I have ever owned (and I have about 5 or 6 different sets of luggage.) Adventure Spec is now selling the 3rd iteration called the MK3. This set seems to have gotten just a bit smaller in size, but AFAIK they are still built to specifically accommodate those Steel Core straps. In the event that you decide on the MK3’s be sure to get the inner waterproof dry bags (I forget if they are included or not.) If memory serves there are strands of steel woven through the bag itself to help prevent someone from knifing through the bag. I have two sets of hard luggage that got banished to the storage unit years ago. I too have a set of those Enduristan panniers in the medium size. The Magadan’s are the way to go 👍🏿

      Security is the issue, If I was going to get those, Id rather keep using my enduristan ones. The Magadan bags can still be cut open with a knife. I also have a little issue with adventure spec. So thanks for trying but its a hard pass on the Adventure Spec stuff.
