Tip - To prevent engineers from running through a gap after blowing a hole put the BLAST command parallel to where you want to blow the hole. This also produces a hole big enough to move vehicle through.

I just played this mission and decided to see how I stacked up to you. My god what a spectacular result. I won the battle but I lost 70 men and two tanks! You did it with hardly a scratch. My mistake was I didn’t know I had pioneer teams in the trucks for at least 30 minutes lol.
Great battle and fantastic documentary film making. Better than most of what is produced on TV these days. On TV we'd been made to watch you 'getting on a train' to visit the battlefield and 'talking with the bloke in the post office' near the farm. There is great style and polish here - please keep up the good work. And thanks.

Impressive lack of casualties! I think I spread out more and was able to surround and capture the town quicker, but like you highlighted ended up losing extra men in parts of the map which weren't really necessary. Just a note as well: some of the off map artillery carries over from mission to mission, and I remember when I played through this campaign regretting using it all up ASAP and missing it later. It was a year ago though so I can't remember if it was including this mission or in the later ones. (maybe some spoiler free googling can help)
Cheers man! I did realise I could have used the artillery in the next mission (and the mission after that!), which would have been nice to know in advance, but its seems worth smacking E-ville around. Fingers La Grande Hameau and Le Hamelet don't need 105s...
Just completed this one now I can watch this video. For tactics I used the Bocage drill and tanks played a key-role. Split engineers and use a team per Sherman Tank hedge cutters were not introduced yet.

Running into a minefield like that was super unlucky, but at least you kept your casualties down. It seems like the extra five minutes saved your game! What lessons can you transfer to the next battle?
Lessons for next time: pioneers with the lead platoons! Lost far too much time bringing them up when I could have had them just behind the front. Another good one is being a bit stingier with the demo charges. I've got Fox Company again in mission 4 and they haven't been resupplied- I only have enough charges for blasting 3 gaps, which might is restricting my options a bit...

@@usuallyhapless9481 I play realtime, since it gets me out of minefields quickly and I can react better by pausing anytime, but i kept the pioneers in the truck, together with the main forces and only dismounted them when needed.
I'm so hype for this whole campaign. BTW - as a bilingual French-Canadian, the closest pronunciation I can muster would be along the lines of "ay-COKE-nay-o-VIL". You mis-spelled the town name in the title of the video. As per wikipedia, should be Écoquenéauville-- you missed the a!

Ha! I thought that wasn't a bad effort at pronunciation. Oh well. The shader is a tweaked version of Barbarico's War Movie mod from CMMODs- I can't remember exactly what I did to it, but the file is easy enough to change with something like notepad.

I've been going right. It's different every time. Last time it was an AT gun absolutely ripping us to shreds. Other times it's a hail of grenades and AT teams.
Just playing the campaign, went the same route as you did basically, but got one tank immobilized by the pak up on the top and appro the same ammount of casualties. Only tactical victory though. But hey, a victory nonetheless.

@@usuallyhapless9481 Did you split your Pioneer Squads? I find it a useful way to cut down on the number of charges used.
