Death didn’t take Puss last life, because he learned to respect Death and no longer laugh at his face
He learned to respect life and you can only respect life if you also acknowledge death as being real because without death there's no life, just an unending experience of existence.

The thing I've come to learn is that a strong person isn't someone who LAUGHS at the face of Death, it's someone who looks into Death's eyes and stands their ground
Gotta love Dreamworks for being willing to evolve and step outside the realm of just the 3D animation they're masters at. Combining it with watercolors and messing with framerates and style changes in a movie that's essentially an 11-years-later sequel to a spin-off movie of a sequel. Didn't try to be Shrek, didn't even try to be the first movie.
Attack on Titan mixed with Spider-verse is just right, but making 3D while still modeling the action after 2D was crazy.
first director is Joel crawford and he love anime and animation. You can see his action style In The Croods The New Age. Second director is januel mercado, his works is for heartwarming story.
Dreamworks hired director Who knew how to do action and another director doing story obviously to fight against spiderverse movie and this movie actually better than spiderverse 2. Sadly many people didnt know this movie until this movie entered streaming service

The scene with the giant had the bell ring 7 times, and an eighth when it landed on him. One for each life.
I always have trouble counting the bells, but given that the 8th bell toll was on the end of Puss’ 8th life, that makes so much sense and is so cool too!
DreamWorks did not have to try this hard with this sequel but I'm glad they did.
Cool thing I didn’t notice the first time. Anyone else fell into the wishing stars magic got vaporized. The Wolf walked through easily. Death is stronger than the Star which is impressive because the Star can literally change reality itself.

"He pulled up like an anime villain." He walked through a barrier that reduced someone to dust and literally dragged three fully grown bears off their feet like it was nothing.
I mean to be fair, them sticking with "Perito" keeps in line with "Puss" and "Kitty" when it comes down to it.

26:58 another way of seing is that, as i read someone comment on it, none of them got to make a wish, as they all broke the "Birthday wish rule", which was mentioned in the movie as a joke.
As they stated, you can't say what your wish will be, or else it won't become true. Though the characters in the movie used it as an excuse not to reveal what they wanted to wish for, it is a nice detail the fact that, at some point during the movie, everyone told someone what their wish was: Puss told Perrito, Perrito told Puss, Kitty told Puss, Jack told the cricket, and Goldie told the bears.
So, even if the "Birthday rule" wasn't actually real, none of them ended up being able to make the wish in the end.

I think it makes the message of the movie better if you figure it out in the beginning though. I think the audience is meant to know it since they put so many hints towards it. Like him being there during the giant fight, Puss being on his last life, the hood, the whole "meeting Death at the bar" thing, the fact that hes had 8 lives (and 8 drinks) and is on his 9th when he meets Death. Thinking he's a random bounty hunter isn’t really as strong of a motivation for Death and therefore is weaker for the audience. Especially given the movie's theme

I don't see death losing to Tai lung. He seems to have teleportation, the ability to be hidden from the eyes of whoever he pleases, invulnerability to magic, the ability to be hidden even from magical things like the map. And we don't know the extent of his powers or his strength as he was able to strike the ground hard enough for it to cause a huge wall of fire and manipulate it by making it disappear as he left. I got Death winning.
Death was also deliberately playing Puss's game on a level that Puss could compete with to humiliate him before reaping him. Being able to walk through the Wishing Star's barrier is the most obvious proof of this
As long as the concept of Death exists, he cant be defeated.

Death was really there when he revealed himself. he’s the only one that could enter!! Also when puss and death fought at the end, everyone could see him because they all thought they were gonna die (some did).
Another fun fact, He looks like the “big bad wolf” because he appears to puss as what he’s afraid of (a wolf)

You can't actually beat Death uness. He's going off script (like he was with Puss). So if it's Tai Lung's times, he's going to die. If you're mortal, you'll eventually lose to death. Even Puss would have lost if they kept fighting, but Death no longer wanted to take him after seeing Puss change.
Let’s be real death is the best villain we’ve seen in dreamworks just ahead of lord Shen. Probably unpopular opinion but as a villain, Shen>Tai lung=Kai. In terms of power though it’s Kai>>Tai lung>Shen

You guys NEED to react to the 2011 Puss in Boots film. Its basically his backstory and it will show you more of kitty softpaws and who she is.
It's not as deep as the 2022 version, but it's definitely underrated.
It's an okay movie, definitely not bad. But luckily it's not needed to enjoy this film 💙

Very rarely do I ever watch a movie or show expecting it to be ok or average and then just have those expectations thrown into the freakin stratosphere. This movie deserves the idea of having no business being this good, yet well deserve. This movie is a step in the right direction in the animated film industry.
I think Puss reuniting with Shrek will come in next year. Can't wait. I love 💕 this movie 🍿🎥. Love Perrito . His my favourite new character. Death is one of the most badass character ever. A great villain.

One of the many things that I enjoy very much, is that they took a very mediocre franchise and asked themselves: "How can we change it up? How can we make it into something unique?".
If they had continued Puss in Boots in the same vein as SO many other animated movies, including the first one, they would have had 1 or 2 bad movies left, that would have been just plain "watch-and-forget" types of movies.
I certainly didn't expect them to do anything else at this point. Happy that I was wrong.
I think that this is a peak example of how you revitalize a franchise and make it unique in a way that will be remembered for a long time.

I just rewatched this masterpiece earlier this week, so this is a MOST WELCOMED SURPRISE!
This movie was the first movie since Zootopia, and then Kung Fu Panda 2, that I've watched over and over again in theaters, and loved so much! The animation was god tier, the story was amazing, each character was very lovable; even Jack Horner despite how awful of a person he was, but at least he was honest about it, lol. It also cuts sorta deep, when it break the whole movie down, from Death appearing before he actually debuts, each "antagonist" being one of every classic form of an antagonist, and many more ! It's criminal that this movie didn't win an oscar or any more awards that it was nominated for!
And Also How Death Looks In The Movie It's Like Anubis From The Grewk Mytgology + Spanish Legend About Night Wolf Who Actually Was Doing A Whistle Before Killing Everyone.
In the corners of his death cards, there's a stylised wolf to signify that even though he had nothing to do with Puss' stupid deaths he was there due to him being Death.
I wouldn't call Goldi selfish.
It's not uncommon for adopted kids to feel like they don't belong, and Baby refusing to call her his sister and calling her a "Fugitive Orphan" likely didn't help her feelings.
Also, there's no way in hell Tai Lung would defeat Death. 😂 If you want to be technical, Death has already defeated him.

This movie seems to be inspired after Antonio Banderas got a heart attack in 2017 that changed the way he viewed his life, so that’s why you feel so connected through all the film
