  • Have you heard of Siser Brick HTV? It is a heat transfer vinyl product that is thicker than normal so it gives a really unique look to your projects. I think it looks like faux leather applied to the surface. My favorite application for this is hats but I am also adding it to some home decor, paper, shirts, and a zipper pouch. Come see how to use this product and decide if it is for you!

It cut thru the carrier sheet. I found your video and took your advice and used the glitter iron on setting. It worked perfect. I should have looked for your video in the first place. Very nice tutorial. I find the canvas bags aren't the easiest for me no matter what I use. The vinyl won't stick. Using my Easy Press 2, on recommended settings, I have to apply the heat more than once. I also use the teflon sheets to help protect the product I am adhering to. Any tips are appreciated.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bags are like my favorite thing to make! I would say to add something inside to raise it up and make sure you keep your press off of the zipper.

    • @mardellgrayhek9958
      @mardellgrayhek9958 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AngieHolden the bags I have been working with are the tote size. I use the teflon pressing pillows to raise the bag and while it helps somewhat, I wonder sometimes if there is a better brand of the HTV that is more favorable. I have used Cricut snd Starcraft and Paper Studio brands. I also follow brand guidelines for my Easy Press 2 settings. I put a teflon in sheet on the design too, to prevent scorching the remainder of the bags. I have only done a few of the cosmetic sized bags and they weren't too bad and yes, avoid those zippers. There isn't one size fits all htv that is for sure. What is your favorite brand of HTV for 100% cotton canvas bags? It seems you have tried a lot of them.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Cricut most often. I would avoid the top of the bag with your press as well if you can. Even riding on the seams can cause an issue.

    • @mardellgrayhek9958
      @mardellgrayhek9958 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AngieHolden yes, people should avoid tops of bags, seams and anywhere that could use protection. I will just use trial and error until I find my personal best htv for 100% cotton canvas...some of them just seem to lay there on top of the fabric. Thanks for all your test trials, they are helpful.
