My mom has had past trauma and because of that her way of thinking is negative and always over worrying over things that make no sense. She lives with me and I tried my hardest to make her living situation as best as I could offer but no matter what, we just don’t get along. She’s supposed to be moving out soon a big relief but at the same time it hurts to see her go. If only she would just make living together a little more peaceful and give me my space as her 38 year old daughter needs. Thank you for your confirmation. They keep a lot of secrets, our parents.. My mother chose not to do the inner work either, lived in anxiety and fear and never could be in the present moment, could never experience Joy or truly laugh or relax, so it sounds like your mom also probably had a mother wound which means she will be unable to connect with her daughter because she could not connect with her mother . They have chosen their own karmic journey and we can't get in the way of that.❤
Until a person chooses to do real hard core therapy, and chooses to get help for past childhood trauma, they can't heal. It's really hard to understand another person's trauma. Unless you have suffered some yourself. Lots of adult children also have trauma from abuse from others.
I can speak from being on the other side of this scenario [2+yrs of no contact w/slowly tappering off up to the point 2+yrs ago] that it is most definitely worth the many internal back & forths! Yes, I’m on the mom side of this. I have 2 children in their 30’s but they live pretty far away from me. Our relationship is good but it’s only the last 6 years that I’ve done my healing. It’s difficult. Not like it is today when therapy is accepted. Try growing up in a generation where it’s shameful. It’s taken me over 50 years, but I’ve forgiven my dad and learned that his home was dysfunctional as was his parents. It’s goes on and on! Try to have grace but I know know it’s so hard.

I am of Chinese Caribbean descent (father’s side) and visited China for the first time in spring this year. I went to the Temple of Heaven and made a wish, and my life has been a whirlwind ever since. I truly feel like they are looking over me, I have never felt this before, just some kind of spiritual solid cushioning or some irreversible unseen force that is pushing me to a future that will fulfill that wish I made. (I only found out what a narc was a few years ago) She’s not bad enough to go no contact, but I’m certainly an unemotional grey rock & yes, she’s exhausting. But I can’t see any unhooking from her just yet - the only way out would be if one of us died & she may be 95 but she’s mentally & physically very well. I certainly feel I deserve a break. So spot on, my grandma( Sagittarius) wrote a statement against me and tried to send me to prison. She claims she didn’t but she did. She is sick and is dying. She wanted to take my kids from me and now I have court Monday. I feel sorry because she is sick and in the hospital now. She is dying and all I have done is kill her with kindness. She was staying with me for years, but all she did was be nasty and lie on me. I pray I beat the charges and can live with my life with children without interference.

I must be odd, have felt no heart break, no love loss..etc.and that applies from beginning to end. In fairness we never met, only spoke online for maybe a month, and he was a serious gas lighter, so overkill with love bombs that I really couldn't take him serious. He has been blocked now for close to a year, however a narrative was created via tarot readings, an yes up until very recently he was perpetually sending fake profile friend request, so he has been quite the cling on..lol. This was with a former biz partner and a younger sibling. Both narcissists and the biz partner did try to intimidate me with legal action too. It’s been hard to navigate this situation and I hope he just goes away without skirmishes 😅
I actually had a toxic abusive relationship with my sister- I disowned her in 2006, I only remember her as a passing thought...she did manipulate, abuse me for 45 years when I ended it... I am 64 now.... I stopped caring about her over 15 years ago....... the only other person that might fit this situation is my daughters MIL- at thanksgiving I had a great front seat show of how she manipulates other people.... I am glad I dont have to deal with her on a daily basis, but I decided after watching the 'show' that I wont let her go after people anymore..
