The assassin is one of, if not the most overrated subclasses in the game. It's abilities are very situational at best and downright awful at worst. It's such a shame seeing it time and time again high in these lists.
I Dana, did not answer your question... However, I do have an important question of my own to ask: Why not build a character of a specific race for the Rogue? If the main objective of the Rogue is to be Elusive, Stealthy, and a Master of Disguise then wouldn't it be better to go with a Deep Gnome with The Svirfneblin Magic feat???
@@AmaraQueenOfDice ...Drow make excellent Gloom Stalker Rangers. Their High Magic is an absolute compliment to that particular class. However, as a Rogue they're pretty darn good...they're just not great. Now, I could be wrong, although I seriously doubt it, but whenever you have a character whose race is from The Underdark (Drow, Duergar, or Deep Gnome) it's best to use their magic feat abilities to enhance their class.
Me: Kobold, Scout, Archer, with mobile and sharpshooter feats. FTW DM: The orcs swings his axe at you. Me: Ok, at the end of his turn I move 20 feet away as a reaction, without provoking any attacks of opportunity, then on my turn I move another 40 feet putting me at 60, and fire an arrow at him, with sneak attack damage because my pack tactics gives me advantage due to the fighter still being back there with him. 3:)

I had an arcane trickster who had an unstable time taming her magic and then later milticlassed into sorcerer as she learned how to tame the magic, it felt like a good pairing that did wonders for my character too😊
If your gna say thief like the no nothing politicodnds do...then i am gonna vomit...sorry but true. Its like dont u know it takes a unique campaign and unique dm to have a valuable thief. Like gah damn..a good thief is disabling a trap in combat..but aside from that..they cant be good additions like a phantom thief using steady aim or a inquisitive who is holding sneak atk for a minute. Alot of the lazy ass rankers dont do their friggin research...take it from a current consumate in the flynn party pc rogue. I got rogue duties at my table now and for years to come. Please sound educated if your gonna talk.

Wrong...while inquisitive might be a dumb name..then again u can call it whatever u wanna call it as the table..heck u can even call urself det.(insert ur rogue name here) at the table. Here is some fun facts...2. In st. Dmg at 17...and even from the get go..u can replace the steady aim need with a 1min lasting need. Simply put...inquisitive only ultimately requires proficiency in insight...that its only inconvenience...but wisdom is like 2nd most useful stat to a staple rogue creator. Int is only for arcane trickster use. But here is the real inquisitve ranking. 2 in st., 1in convenience..as a insight check can guarantee sneak atk for 10rounds(the one out of 2 classes that can no need a steady aim without other combatants). 1 for creatitity and everysneak atk is 13d6 at max lvl for 1min or 10rounds. Unlike the others who have to give up movement to do what they gta do. I dont think a dumb name is a reason to rank it nine and it is all about the abilities bro....will post more as i go.
Arcane tricksters are the best trap deactivators in the game...not only can they use mage hand to deactivate traps while shying away from the majority of traps. They can also find a way to deal with the new breed of dm traps that require remove curse spells(at dm permission they can gain the spells thru switching out into remove curse which is a lvl.3 spell...or use items to perform this in the mean time. or dispel magic. No rogue can deactivate an arcane trap normally..but an arcane trickster can earn the spells to do so...how ever slow it might be or just simply set it off with an illusion spell. Should be ranked 3-1 not 6...and ranked 1 in trap deactivation. It truly does what no other archetype has a chance to do.
Phantom should do be number 1. The true king of skills and tools st dmg and number 2 in multitarget dmg for rogue archetypes...number 1 when it comes to a con save...which is typically a weakness to rogues. Number 1 overall. You get the old school rogue feel and steady aim guarantees a ton of 2 target dmg early on and and 156 on one monster later on. Ghostwalk also can get u out of a bind or make a riaky climb as well. Im done discrediting..no more. Please do your research before u make videos...my gawd. Thanks.
