Giselle Loren is great here in the animated show and also in the two games, but Sarah Michelle Gellar could be ready to return since she doesn't really have a career anymore. This would certainly give her career some new push.
Misbehave Well, David Boreanaz also has a family now (incl 2 kids), and yet he's starring in Bones. He doesn't seem to be of the same opinion that having kids means you have to retire. But then, that's just what Sarah Gellar is like - perfectionist to the point where she gets exhausted from it too quickly (that's why Buffy ended, by the way - Sarah refused to do another season), and also gets on everyone's nerves by expecting them to work that hard as well. Most people who worked with her seemed to find her bossy. That's probably another reason why she's kinda faded out. Also, to Elizabeth: Being a fan doesn't mean that you think that they're all perfect. It simply means that you think that they're better than most.

Okay, good, Buffy does much the same to the likes of Dracula and horror, the most solid difference being it's not restricted by Disney's family friendly approach and can have real teeth, scares and emotion (as good as So the Drama to use an example was, it does not cover the idea of Kim setting out to murder Shego in cold blood like Buffy does) in their storytelling.

Throw in the meta humor and genre savvy of both series it's clearly a huge influence. They actually had 13 scripts ready to produce the show, but nobody wanted it. Networks thought it was too childish for adults and too adult to show kids, so there wasn't a place for it on TV. All the cast were the original stars, except Sarah Michelle Gellar, who didn't want anything to do with it. Buffy is voiced by Giselle Loren in the cartoons' premier, I probably would've watched it, just to see what direction it went in. I doubt the show is too adult for kids these days, so who knows, if Joss Whedon tried again, maybe some network might pick up the show, much to the delight of some fans, and to the horror of others, perhaps?
I think its stupid of them to think that it could be to adult for some or childish for some when seeing the success of the original series. I think the WB had the same worries for Angel when it started and look how it turned out. Also, they could see the success of more mature cartoons like Justice Largue Unlimited and Batman the animated series... So many cartoons that can appeal to both kids and adults... What a shame it wasent picked up for such stupid reasons. Pure insecurities.

Because famously streaming has led to quality programming, especially of the animated variety... Oh wait. Yeah, we got Castlevania but that was an exception. Streaming doesn't help. If they'd gone to MTV with this, surely that would have been wiser. Not that we know for sure that they didn't, but it's very much the kind of thing they were airing back then. In any case, it was a cost thing as much as a network thing. Which still means no streaming.

Damn, this pilot looks really good. I like the art direction, and the animation is really smooth. Plus, having most of the actual cast for it? That's just awesome. And Giselle Loren as buffy--I literally couldn't tell that wasn't SMG. I kinda wish it'd been picked up, but I guess it wasn't to be.

I never get tired of watching this. As a Buffy follower since the movie and the beginning of the entire series and now the comic book, I really wish they had made this show. It looks great. I can't believe they couldn't get any network to bite. It is an expensive show considering the animation I'm told but Buffy fans would eat it up! Buffy was never cancelled! Sarah and Joss decided to end it. Buffy fans would want more!
It would have been cool if they had made a point of transforming all of the characters into a 2D cartoon land and then just continuing the show's run like that. Kind of like how they used puppets on Angel.

Yes, but this is Willow we're talking about. At least, early Willow. She kicks off with panic, gets calmed by Buffy and Xander, and kicks butt in her own, understated, Willow way. But the panic stuff is always funny, since she tends to overexaggerate things.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that fire breathing terror is actually Morgana herself. Given that in Arthurian legends she was a powerful sorceress and able to change her form. Particularly a dragon.

After all the shit we learned about Joss Whedon, not going to happen. There was that one Buffy comic issue drawn in the cartoon style, but that’s about it.

If this actually had been picked up they should have made it serious, and make it just a sequel to the actual series. THEN people would have been interesting in purchasing it.

brandon samuels This was produced during Season 5, this being an alternative at the time to switch the show to UPN. They went with the latter. The cartoon would have aired on the defunct Kids WB. Now, it's a comic book.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that fire breathing terror is actually Morgana herself. Given that in Arthurian legends she was a powerful sorceress and able to change her form. Particularly a dragon.
