      @Piotr Dembowy overreacting to matters that are not really that important or significant. It’s the image of a Victorian woman who “faints” on the couch if a man would speak an “offensive” word.

      It does qualify as sexual assault though because anger can be used as a tactic to create guilt, thus becoming coercive control. It's not a silly addition, it happens. It is a tactic people have used to sexually assault someone.

    • @kirkydaturkey
      @kirkydaturkey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually like how Coleman handles conversations much better than Sowell. Sowell often refers so much to certain data points that it leaves out the nuance of how or why those statistics could have occurred

    • @wodenravens
      @wodenravens 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Coleman is a media personality, and a very good one, while Sowell is a scholar, also a very good one. I just don't see any meaningful similarities between their professional work except for sometimes covering similar themes. Even then, Coleman merely discusses topics, whereas Sowell undertakes in-depth research. Sowell's positions, social and economic, are also further right than Coleman. Coleman supported Biden, for gawd's sake. I can't think of much they have in common except sometimes covering similar 'culture war' topics.

    I don't think there is an intentional movement of people ignoring sexual assault among minorities. The focus seems to be centered on who is popular, which just happens to fall in the demographic of predominantly white/eurocentric artists in Hollywood. It's an issue on what is being publicized in mainstream news... that tends to command the attention of people. I'm surprised Coleman jumped into this topic from a racial perspective since he is usually colorblind in his topic.
    It also seems problematic to just simply state that the people mostly committing these crimes are "brown" men.
    Think about what isn't reported. The lack of empirical evidence. This topic is a beast and a difficult one to tackle.

    And this is one reason why control of immigration is important. If you're a multiculturalist who insists that the west is just a place, it doesn't matter who enters western countries. If you believe that western culture is important to western success or for your principles, you want immigrants to assimilate -- and that won't happen with unrestricted immigration.
    That said, I think the treatment of women by politically favored groups is will really come to a head with a purely domestic issue, that of letting people born men serve their time in women's prisons, with no transition needed. Women held captive by the state alongside violent men, with the state insisting that There's Nothing To See Here.

    When queen #metoo (Alyssa Milano) herself was asked why she didn't also support the #challengeaccepted movement (Turkish women who took black/white foto's of themselves to protest domestic violence in Turkey), she just said "women shouldn't always have to raise awareness of a cause to men in order to show solidarity). I found that the most telling comment about how much of an upperclass faker and hypocrite she is. I still get mad when I think about it.
    And it's not that she is the only one doing this. When I point out that there's also working class women being grouped by certain men, these types of faux activists will say "more white men abuse their wives at home". It's like all these upperclass outrage machines about sexism or violence against women are always for the elite bubble.
    Ofcourse it's bad that people like weinstein or other actors abuse women, but it has been a known problem in Hollywood for a long time. When I pointed that out in the 90s, I was called a prude or an oldfascionate moral busy body who couldn't understand that we live in a world of free sex now. But 30 years later they decide that they finally have enough but people like Milano just revert to tokenism and hollow signaling for the ingroup. I find this highly infuriating.

    @Coleman Hughes “happen to be/have...” is a weasel word phrase that sidesteps examining the actual relationships between characteristics and behaviour on average.
    These behaviours have long been observable in their home countries and cultures, their arrival to other countries and cultures was brought about by policy -that is the manifest will of the power elite- that the behaviour would continue in Western countries was foreseeable, was to be expected, was known in advance and from the evidence of actually occurring soon after they arrived. It was covered up, remains mostly so, yet the policies have not only continued but ramped up decade on decade.
    Given this, and the amplification of the will of law and policy makers through bureaucratic systems and those many humans that submit their will to them without much injection of their own agency, the existence and extent of premeditated malice is almost irrelevant as it would make a negligible difference to the outcomes.
    In any case, it is indifference not malice that is the opposite of love and the class of power elites are easily condemned on the former; “malicious conspiracy” is a defensive misdirecting distraction from the more obvious and provable culpability of callous irresponsibility and selfishness.
