Two bits of fun: Emppu walking behind Floor, touching her left shoulder while going right, causing her to look the wrong way, and Troy flubbing a note on the low whistle. Emppu turned around, looked at him, turned back to the audience and gestured back at Troy in a "get a load of him!" motion. They both then share a grin as Emppu flashes him the horns. At the end Floor says something to Tuomas who bursts out laughing. Never seen a band who has that much fun on stage.

Elan is another great song that has a very positive message. The live versions are great but the Official Music Video is pretty special and would recommend that one.
A great song - great no matter where they play it. There is a live streaming coming up very soon - not very expensive if you want you see it (one or two nights in a row, different set lists)

ha, glad it made you happy, and if you want another happy one whenever you get a chance, I know you got a long list and some from your Patrons too, but you need to check out "I want my tears back-Buenos Aires 2019. You want to see a pumped-up audience those South Americans get crazy, that chant at the beginning I'm told is some sort of soccer chant and it pumps up Nightwish too. Floor really gets into it and starts dancing and you can see AS USUAL they are ALL having a blast. Then too you can afterward check out the "I want my tears back" Wacken where at the beginning you can see Emppu and Troy scheming and plotting on Floor and later when Emppu crosses begin her he unplugs her earpiece and you can see her give him a look as she reaches behind her ha, then they clown with each other over it, they just love the hell out of what they do and it shows.

Sorry to hear you've been experiencing difficult times recently but I hope this was able to lift your spirits even only for a little while. Another great to cover (not sure if you've already done it?) Is the show opener to Wacken " Dark Chest of Wonders" which not only is super heavy but positive too! I'm a relatively new NW fan , been following them for a year now and I've bought tickets for 2 if their gigs in the UK, Wembley and Birmingham and that's something I've never done in 40 years of going to see most of the best bands in the World!
Also that buzz on Markos bass is from him really flicking the strings hard to get more resonance(?) from his bass. Chase Carneson brought that up a while ago and I had to go back and listen. It's cool as hell.
I tend to play that way as well. His overall tone is very similar to the tone I tried to achieve when I played. Tho i am not on his level I think we share similar ideas on crafting our tone. I have become a huge Marko fan

Emppu does look a lot like Brett. Although, I think Brett is a little bit taller that Emppu (5'3"). Floor and Marko have very different vocal tones, but it works so well together. Marko is known for his monstrous bass sound. Not a flute. It is called a low whistle. It is an old traditional instrument. Very flutelike. Well done again The Not So Newlyweds!
interestingly, the two very long lines that Floor sings right after the solos, she does with a single breath each. The woman has the lungs of an elephant.
Always uplifting! Like "Elan"! .... Maybe not wrestling but Emppu is pretty darn good at judo (I have a signed pic of him in his judoge - a friend of mine was the English/European champ).... The low centre of gravity helps! Plus he is THE Electric Hobbit!

Marko is playing his Warwick Infinity here. There is a video from Warwick with Marko talking about each of the different Warwick models he plays and how each one has a different sound/purpose. My favorite bass he plays is the Warwick Buzzard which just looks and sounds amazing.

@@TheWrath74 Did you know Emppu's a black belt in judo? He was Junior National Champion in Finland when he was in high school, and placed 3rd in an all-Nordic country competition as well. Gave up competing in favor of the music, but still practices judo to keep fit. One of Floor's Fan Friday clips, someone asked who'd win a fight between her and Emppu and she was all, "Emppu, definitely! He's a black belt and I hate fighting." (Not an exact quote, but close enough.)
They're going to announce the replacement bassist just before the virtual concerts. I'm pretty sure he's just been brought on board for the virtual concerts and not as a permanent member.

Tuomas said in an interview that the bassist is a stand in not a permanent member
also for the Human Nature tour apparently if any of the dates ever manage to go ahead...it must be endlessly frustrating for the band!
