      They usually ask you to do that if you have a lot of outgrow and if you are asking for a lighter shade then what you currently have on or if it’s a different product then what is already on the nail. Usually you can apply different gel products but sometimes it doesn’t look as good as it should, doesn’t wear as well and the finished product may look odd a few days in due to bonding issues.

      We don't do it unless you pick the same or a darker color. Even then it's still a long process to refill. You have to take off most of the old color or else it will look chunky so you might as well start a new fresh set.

    The only reason for powder refill either customers nails’ bed are very paper thin weak or they are getting same color as previous one. Otherwise you will spend same amount of time to get new set. As professional nails tech for 12 years, I’d rather do the new set.

    • @ProNailsSchool
      @ProNailsSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agreed 100% with you as a Salon owner , But these videos are not just for professionals. 80% of my subscribers do their own nails at home and ask for that refilll choice and how to do it, plus remember, even if you prefer not to do it, every pro should know how to do a refill right? 😉

    This might be a dumb question, but why do a refill instead of taking the dip off and starting fresh? And is it then harder to remove the dip when its been refilled like this?

    • @ProNailsSchool
      @ProNailsSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Refill are more for the ones that do their own nails at home. I personally do a fresh set every time but no, is not more difficult to remove, is as easy as a regular dip set.

    Hi I would like to know,is it the same as gel,? Can you offer this service to clients who prefer gel? Which one last longer between the 2.thank you

    • @ProNailsSchool
      @ProNailsSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. dip powder is not the same as gel. It does not need a UV lamp to cure and the liquids and process are different. And it will last 4 weeks or more properly applied. I do prefer dipping since is easier to remove and keep the nails healthier and growing. 🌹💖🌹
