Thanks for the tips! I'll have to try this with the "insert". I've wasted over 30 koozies because of ghosting and got so frustrated, but this makes sense now. Wish me luck :)
Sorry it took so long to respond, just got back from honeymoon. We would suggest just grabbing a caliper and getting custom dimensions for the koozie you have. This video was long enough ago we don't have the original dimensions
Hello, have you tried sublimating without the piece of acrylic insert? Does it help with keeping the thickness of the koozie? Sometimes I'll have 1 side holds up the thickness better than the other side.
Hey! We had much better luck using an insert (our first ones were cardboard, which lasted a few presses but would ultimately lose their structure. Less pressure is going to help keep the thickness on the koozie. Hope this helps!
@@JustMightDIY no, it's ok. I just made 20 koozies following your tips and tutorial with no ghosting or tape lines!! Thank you for this great tutorial!!
Hi! We made that ourselves on our laser. However, you can make one out of many different materials depending on what tools you have access to. We even started a long time ago with just cardboard, but it only lasted a press or two before it lost its shape. Hope this helps!
I saw in your comment above you suggested chipboard for an insert... Do you think the Cricut chipboard would be thick enough? I may try to cut a template out on my cricut maker 3!
The chipboard holds up sort of ok with multiple uses. What kind of acrylic are you using? I am going to have to get some, but want to make sure I get the right kind!

Oh wow! We hope this helps. Ghosting is so frustrating. Let us know how it goes!!
Very informative.
Thanks!
What is that “piece of acrylic” you used as an insert?
Hey! That’s a piece we cut ourselves. You can use anything (wood, cardboard, chipboard, etc) that’s heat tolerant and won’t warp. Hope this helps!
I have yet to master this. So frustrating. Thank you
What deminsions is your insert. I tried to use card board but was unsure how big to make it.@JustMightDIY
I just bought a few sheets of HDPE to cut and make the inserts. Can I ask the dimensions of the ones that you use? TY!

Would you be willing to share your photoshop measurements you used here? This sounds like a lifesaver. I've wasted too many Koozies with ghosting :(
Hey! We’re glad this is helpful! We’ve found that no two brands of koozies are the same, so we measure each new set we get separately.
@@JustMightDIY LOL that's now what I was asking, but no worries. Thank you for the great video. It definitely helped!
If you’d like to clarify your question, we’re happy to see if we can provide the info. Otherwise, happy crafting!

May I ask what program you use to resize your prints for tumblers and other projects? I'm having the worst luck trying to find a program.
Hi! We use Photoshop. Hope this helps!
Hi where did you find the insert?

Hey! We just have the normal Photoshop subscription and try to keep it updated.
@@JustMightDIY ok thanks
@JustMightDIY can u send me a pic of how your photoshop looks
Do you need to sublimate on both sides or is it OK to have 1 side?
Hey! That’s totally up to you!
Tips for not getting ghosting? Can’t seem to figure it out
Hi. This video shows everything we do to avoid ghosting. We recommend watching it all the way through. 😉
I saw in your comment above you suggested chipboard for an insert... Do you think the Cricut chipboard would be thick enough? I may try to cut a template out on my cricut maker 3!
Hey! It *might* be, and if it’s not, you can always double it up. Happy crafting!
I did test out! I have only tried it on 2 koozies & it worked! I'll let you know how they hold up with multiple uses
The chipboard holds up sort of ok with multiple uses.
