I am a big fan of the Palmer Pletch books. I also have The Reader's Digest Complet Guide To Sewing that I use all the time and was a textbook for a class I took. I have the Sewing Secrets which I find very useful especially for construction order, seam allowances, and finishes. I am a visual learner so I am interested in the first book you covered, eBay is always my go-to for sewing books.
