I wonder if the car thing is a product of Bethesda physics. The car isn’t properly anchored because they blow up, so when you hit them at the right angle they move, bug out, and it registers 1000x or whatever many hits on the character
Nah, it’s because the death claw has a special animation where they throw a car at you which is an Insta kill if it hits you. However with Bethesda being Bethesda this Insta kill will sometimes trigger if you brush past an immobile car as well
Car physics are not simulated 100% of the time unlike the physics on smaller objects. Just like the bag of fertilizer the car is meant to kill you by falling on you. But its physics only update when you touch it, if its on uneven ground it kills you. But since the fertilizers physics are simulated all the time, it updates before you have a chance to touch it. So if its on uneven ground it will fall before you can reach it.

Talking about the abandoned cars, ive recently played a 60 hour playthrough of vanilla fallout 4, survival mode and ive died so many times on them that every time i saw a car it became my duty to destroy them all , using the vertibird cannons worked well enough when traveling around. I didn't leave a single standing car in my fallout 4 map🙏💫🗿
I knew the car death thing was real because id seen it happen to other people before. But weirdly, even after all of my hours playing FO4 I dont think I've ever had it happen to me, so i can understand why some people might think it is a myth!
It happens because the cars are slightly floating when not physics are firstly applied, so that the player contacting the car will cause it to accelerate fast for a very short distance. The car is not gonna kill the player if the physics already stabilized it in the fitting coordinate.
Billy reacts to his parents death because of the little quest with the guy wanting to buy Billy. He'd attack to take him by force and before Bethesda made them essential they could die.
I have seen the weight bench issue many times. The time of day has nothing to do with it. It happens when a settler uses, stops, but the animation of the weights doesn't stop running.
I think the reason you sometimes die from running into a car in 3 NV & 4 is the game recognizes it as if the car collided with you. Since explosions or large enemies can fling cars into you the game gets confused when you run into them.
10:32 as demonstrated here, the light is essentially the turret's "eye" and it will only shoot when it can see your camera/head. You can hold any physics object in front of your face to disable turrets, it doesn't need to be a body, and its easier to walk with something else.
I think the Monorail is explained because it's an invisible NPC wearing the Metro Armor. And NPCs don't harm you when they run into you, they don't have the Pain Train Perk after all.
I think what happens with the cars is that when you bump into one of the object cars (the ones than can move/explode) it might be clipping with the ground slightly, when the player touches it the game 'realises' they're clipping and it instantly moves out of the terrain damaging the player
Correct! It's a collision glitch issue. Another example of the clipping issue you mention is that at certain areas in the game, you can see cars bouncing up and down in the distance. I believe I have a video of this phenomenon on my YT, if anyone's curious.

Characters have to scale up and stretch to fit the power armor. Some short characters and children have to scale up to interact with workbenches in settlements, sometimes they bug out and stay big, sometimes when exiting power armor characters will stay stretched as well. This is a scaling bug that happens when they get stuck in their inside power armor form instead of scaling back down, the children hit the bug almost every time because they have to scale twice, if you watch in the video, the child npc grows before he gets in the armor, but he does not change scale or form at all leaving it because it seems the double scale shifting involving children when they enter power armor, causes a glitch in the code that keeps them in the power armor scale state. Some mods, bugs, and game glitches can cause it to happen to any character, but it seems since children were not intended to wear power armor, the glitch happens 100 percent of the time if they get in and out of power armor.
