- Outertale sounds much cooler, but it already exists so :( This is a bunch of songs remixed together (Hopes and Dreams, Undertale, Travelers Theme, Intro Theme, etc.) from two games that really mean a lot to me. I recently beat Outer Wilds and it reminded me of why video games are so special to me, so I wanted to combine it with another game that also meant a lot to me when I first beat it in 2016. I hope you will give Outer Wilds a shot after listening to this (Please do not confuse this game with 'The Outer Worlds' which was the Fallout New Vegas clone. They are VERY different) My 6 year old cat Haven, also had a very expensive intestinal surgery due to swallowing part of a shoelace, so if you can donate or commission me it'd be very much appreciated.

And then i appear. Undertale and Outer wilds have to be GOTC.
For me outer wilds was one of, no, the only game ever to spark curiosity and wonder beyond what I previously thought possible. The excitement of discovering something brand new and the big questions it uncovered was amazing. The satisfaction of solving a mystery I've been working on for a while was almost better. I love everything about it.

I'm not going to lie, when I heard Outer Wild's main theme it reminded me of the Undertale main theme in it's tone and melody.
Yeah now that you mention it
They sound alike
The games do have a similar tone.
The monsters trapped underground. The Hearthians trapped in a time loop.
Despair and hopeful quirkiness of the people you meet/read about.
With a bittersweet ending for both, with optional better ending that brings all the relevant living characters together. And optional bad endings.
Though one is a 2d RPG and the other a 3d Platformer/Exporation both have the same blood in their veins.
I actually cried at the inflow of memories of playing both games this song created. Especially Outer Wilds.

EDIT (March 9, 2021) I finally got outer wilds today. time to find out why everyone loves this game. I got 2 seconds into the main menu theme and I already have feels. I cant tell this is gonna be good

Gosh, this is far better than good, I've played both games, outer wilds was by far the most beautiful and just breathe taking game both gameplay wise, storywise, and visually, there's never been a game that's truely set a place in my heart than outer wilds, undertale was very mysterious, yet it told the whole story if you looked past just it being a game, it's characters have always been very memorable and deer to me, and the music, the music of both games, no....both stories are truely told by their music, and what you've made has truely been a gift, thank you for making this and have a good day
While this is on my mind, I wanted to thank you for making this remix. Outer Wilds had been on my wish list for a long time because I heard good things about it, but couldn't pull the trigger on it. From what my brother read from the description of the game and reviews, it was a space exploration game with puzzles. Space exploration sounded complicated, and I'm not a fan of puzzles. Then this remix came along, which almost pushed me to get it, but not quite. However, this remix did push my brother to pick-up the game. He absolutely loved it, and couldn't stop playing it. After he completed, he basically forced me to play the game. He did the same thing with Undertale.
I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised, and the game was not at all what I thought it was going to be like. I would say it's more of a space exploration game with a mystery to solve. Beautiful game though. I've never played anything quite like it. The only negative is that I'll never be able to experience it for the first time again. I'm also glad to say that the space exploration was not at all complicated. Very intuitive.
Anyways, I really appreciate you making this remix. It was the catalyst that got me to finally play the gem that is called Outer Wilds.
When I revisited Outer Wilds today, somehow I was suddenly reminded of Undertale
So I searched for "Outer Wilds mashup" and found this masterpiece

the beauty of outer wilds it was truly a game of curiosity and mystery. nothing was locked off you could literally theoretically accidently beat the game on the first run. outer wilds is unique game of knowledge. all you need to beat this game is knowledge. i love how they handle the mystery how you had to piece it all together by exploring and learning things i hope to see more games like it. would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is SO good it's literally on par with the games music. This is such a beautiful homage to both games thank you for creating this... 4:05 onwards did something real to me and hearing the swarms of sounds in the background I keep noticing new details it's incredible

And oh my god, from 3:30 to the end? CONSTANT CHILLS. That was AMAZING.

Okay, now that screaming it out of the way, lemme say some coherent thoughts. Firstly, this is amazing. On a technical level, the effects and instrument choices fit very very well with what you've gone with. I also love the way merged the melodies of the two games, keeping Outer Wilds 'snythwave' kinda vibe (for lack of a better term) all with Undertale's memorable soundtrack, and having them be counter melodies to each other. The way they melt into each other is phenomenal. Right around 3:15 is amazing too, I love the way you use the supernova sound in that instance, and the way you bring in vocals is amazing. When 'Hopes and Dreams' kicked in at 4:05 I got literal chills.
Awesome technical music stuff aside, I also loved your caption and just the spirit of the piece. These are two of my favorite games (unfortunately, I can't replay Undertale because reasons, but I've been considered replaying Outer Wilds soon) and this song manages to work with each game's unique feeling. The curiosity and themes of exploration in Outer Wilds, Undertale's sheer nostalgia factor, and wonderful storytelling through music. Plus, both games have that wonderful moment of finally putting the pieces together - maybe in the True Lab realizing Flowey's origins, or on the Sun Station. More than anything, for me, it manages to bring together the child-like nature of both games - the goofy dating parts of Undertale, the thrill of just feeling curious from Outer Wilds, getting invested in each individual world and their characters.

I can imagine some great edits with these to combined it starts off as frisk falling into the underground and then as soon as she hits the flower bed it transitions to the traveler plummeting into the oceans of giants deep.
