@Loonytoones85 They bible doesn't ask me to comply with anything ungodly. The pastor is saying that no matter what happens to us manmade attack or natural disaster our souls are safe. I had good friends who were German and lived under the rein of Hitler. The German people were as afraid of the Nazis as anyone else. Germans that did not comply disappeared. The soldiers would stop you in the street and ask you for your papers and you better have them or you would go to a camp. The soldiers would come to your house and take inventory. If they thought you had too much of something they would just take it. If they thought you did not comply they took you and you were never seen again. Today in many countries you're killed just for being a Christian or just for owning a Bible or just for saying Jesus is God. God calls us to comply with the government if it is being Godly that is it.

Michael D. Rourke The only way you can have all of your questions answered by God is by understanding how to test the Spirits and the only way to do the will of God is by understanding how to test the Spirits.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭NKJV
If you have repented of your sins and you have accepted Jesus Christ our Savior into your life, you are now anointed with His Holy Spirit. But most Christians do not really understand exactly what this means or even know how to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them in their life. Some have asked what is the Holy Spirit and how do I even know that He is even with me? So allow me now to explain. First you must understand that it is the Spirit’s job to change your heart and to make you Holy and He does this by purifying and sanctifying your heart in God’s truth. But in order for this to occur you must now do your part and you must surrender your will to the Spirit and you must allow Him to teach and to guide you. Sadly, this is where the majority of Christians fail and go astray because they end up being deceived by the devil, since they lack understanding of how to test and discern the Spirits. So what is your Spirit and just how do you even test it? God told us how in 1 John 4:1-6.
When God uses the term Spirit you have to now ask yourself, what exactly is it that makes you do the things that you do. Take a moment and think about what it is that motivates you throughout your day? When you wake up in the morning, what makes you decide to do the things that you are going to do on that particular day? Some things you do out of habit or maybe you follow a daily routine, but others things you do are coming from these suggestions that just seem to pop up in your mind. This thought process that is making these suggestions to you is either pushing you to do something or it is telling you to forget it. And when you get these suggestions you usually either go and act on them or you just end up rejecting the idea. So what is this thing that has you making certain choices and decisions throughout your day. THIS IS YOUR SPIRIT.
Next you need to understand that some of these thoughts or suggestions that run through our minds are from God while others are from the devil, who rules this evil fallen world. Once you have accepted Jesus into your life you now have His Holy Spirit inside of you and so your thoughts and His thoughts are now one, which means that you and Jesus are now united in your Spirit. In the past you may have had times that it seemed like you were talking to yourself in your thoughts, but since you now possess the Holy Spirit, you now need to believe that God is now communicating with you. Now in order to hear from the Spirit you must have faith, you must believe in this truth and you definitely must be relaxed. So now the next time when you are alone and when everything is peaceful and quiet, ask Jesus a question in your thoughts and then listen for an answer. Make sure that you phrase your question in such a way that it can only be answered with a simple yes or a no. Your Spirit will now answer you and you will either feel or hear the reply.
Once your Spirit gives you the yes or no answer to your question you then need to test whether you were hearing from the Spirit of God or from a demon Spirit. You must do this with every question that you ask from God because you need to make sure that the answer that you received was correct. How you go about testing the Spirits is simply by asking in your thoughts “Did Jesus come in the flesh.” If you hear yes then it was the Spirt of God who answered you and if you hear a no then it was some demon spirit who is trying to deceive you. If you hear a yes to “Did Jesus come in the flesh” then the answer to the question that you asked is correct (truth). If you hear a no to “Did Jesus come in the flesh” then the answer that you received to your question is a lie (error) and so this means that your answer is the opposite of what you originally heard.
Here is an example. If I ask, Dear Jesus am I saved and I hear a yes and then I ask Did Jesus come in the flesh and hear yes again, this means that I heard directly from God. If I ask, Dear Jesus am I saved and I hear a no and then I ask Did Jesus come in the flesh and I hear no again, this means that I am hearing the voice of a demon who is trying to deceive me and so my answer to am I saved is actually yes. Now let’s say I ask, Dear Jesus was Martin Luther King Jr saved and I hear a yes and then I ask “Did Jesus come in the flesh” and I hear a no this means that a demon is trying to get me to believe that he was saved but he actually was not and so the correct answer from God would be that Martin Luther King Jr was not saved. So now if you rephrase your question and ask, so Jesus are you telling me that Martin Luther King Jr was not saved, you will hear a yes and when you follow up with “Did Jesus come in the flesh,” you will hear a yes again. I used Martin Luther King Jr as an example because I did ask the Lord about him and I was surprised when He told me that he was not saved. This got me wondering why and so I did some research on him. One of the things that King Jr taught was that there were different paths to our salvation besides Jesus Christ. WRONG!
The more you do this the closer you will get with God and the more knowledgeable you will become. So now as you are reading scripture start asking Jesus every time that you have a question. Remember this though, God is looking for you to seek the wisdom and He is not going to automatically give you the knowledge. You will not be given long responses to your questions and this is why you have to be very specific in what you ask and how you phrase your question. You have to desire the wisdom and seek it from Him yourself and certain questions are definitely off limits. You cannot ask God about future things and you cannot ask any questions that would be testing Him. If you do you will always hear the wrong response and then you will know not to go there again. One woman that I taught told me that she was surprised at how often she heard a no when she asked “Did Jesus come in the flesh” and she said that she did not realize just how deceiving the devil actually can be. I told her that is absolutely correct and this is why many believers go astray and why they will eventually perish. She then mentioned that it seemed like she was hearing the answers to her questions even before she asked them and so I sent her this scripture. “It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah‬ ‭65:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Her response was a simple, WOW
Spend your time understanding how to communicate directly with Jesus and you will experience some amazing things as you learn from Jesus and become one of the few, who enters through the narrow gate.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬

It's what you didn't address that concerns us.
I believe you would also affirm what Gods Word says in Matthew 28:18, that Jesus our King, now reigns, having "All Authority in Heaven and ON EARTH"
So how is it that many Christian churches, all across this land, remain closed by Caesar's decree ?
Doesn't that evince a serious lack of belief in Christ's LORDSHIP ?
Especially considering that no State Governor has the authority to abrogate our Bill of Rights that affirm our Rights of Conscience, freedom of Worship & peacably assembly ?
If I were a non-believer in Christ, the Churches' passivity in this time of challenge wouldn't impress me.

One thing I do question mainly because this health situation has become long term. I realize that we are to obey the laws of the land and respect our leaders, but continuing not to assemble may be leading us closer to wider spread religious persecution in the US. After all if our forefathers had obeyed the law and subjected to the king, this country and our religious and other freedoms we enjoy would not exist. We are called to practice common sense in this matter, but are we not really not assembling because we don't want to be arrested for our beliefs? If we don't want to stand up now,why would God not lift his hand of protection over our right to worship Him in the US? I would value Godly opinions on this as I may have wrong thinking on this. That being said,I sincerely believe the country needs the church to stand up especially now and is looking to us as an example, maybe not even realizing it. In some way,we need to stand up and preserve our right to assemble and preach the Gospel properly and not the way some government mandate waters it down and by doing so preserve the other freedoms we hold dear as well.

    • @Brownie12335
      @Brownie12335 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I agree with you. As things became long-term I started to wonder how the church should respond. However, I still think that it is right for us not to meet, for the following reasons:
      - We are to submit to our governing authorities, as we submit to God
      - Are the world governments rebelling against God by issuing a TEMPORARY closure of ALL public gatherings? No.
      - How can church truly function if we needlessly rebel against authority AND in doing so, spread death?
      - We are not to test God, so don't say "God will protect us". God will let you likely let you die if you jump in front of a moving lorry with all the "faith" in the world.
We must also remember that these are still very early days with coronavirus. If, for example, coronavirus stayed around forever (somehow), then we would have to think about how we might adjust.

Jennifer, I am quite surprised myself at the willingness of so many to simply accept the “order” to not meet and not seek any other creative ways to still congregate as a fellowship. An outdoor service in a park (if yours are not closed as my town’s are not) with everyone staying 8’ apart might be a magnet for others to come to see what is going on.

Well, Matthew, one of the positives in all this is that the churches have effectively been shut dow. The sick churches will most likely not recover but the healthy ones, that is, those fellowships who don’t view church attendance as the pinnacle of their Christian life experience, will find real fellowship and learn that much of what we did “in church” was not only not Biblical but had no eternal value at all in the first place. “ Praise and worship” comes to mind, as one example.

      @nupsi6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lpl433 Certainly you are right to acknowledge that most people tend to try to defend their view on things.
But "impose" means something different. It is a violent act that suppresses the addressed person. I really would like to ask you to reconsider. Just because you do not like what you hear does not automatically means that what is pointed out is wrong. Sometimes the opposite of what you claim is true: that many people tend to shrug off rightful criticism just because it criticises their own view but completely fail to acknowledge what is actually said.
It is an established fact based on the available data that the vaccination rate among strict religious believers is substancially lower that in other social circles. It also is simply true that the vaccination primarily serves as a protection for others, so for society in general and especially the weaker individuals among us. Taking both aspects together _clearly_ demonstrates that the position many strict religious believers, _especially_ in the evangelical spectrum, does not make sense, contradicts itself. Which means that is indeed is illogical. You cannot on the one hand preach of charity all day long which at the same time refusing to contributed your social responsibility based on purely egoistic reasons. That simply does not sum up.
"Eat your own dog food" is a well established saying. Especially followers of the monotheistic religions are always the first to tell others how to behave. While they act different at the same time when it comes to their own interests. I'd say: that is hypocrite and obviously illogical.
Does that mean that I "impose" my view on you? Why that? Just because I dare to point out the obvious? Because I dare to address the problematic behavior many religious believers demonstrate but are unwilling to acknowledge?
Sorry, but that has nothing to do with "imposing".
The issue more likely is that you are not able to handle rightful criticism.

All of a sudden, no need to obey the government and laws of the land? No need to observe mandates and public service announcements because Christians have no fear?
Everything is political, but be always on guard never to mix religion and politics. You can't pick and choose what rights you as Christians and as citizens have and not have according to your whims and fancy.
Daniel worshipped in secret, alone, not because he feared execution, but because he was a subject of the laws of the land. He did not openly protest. He did not give interviews to pronounce as if some great achievement, that he needlessly risked his life just so he could worship and pray to the Lord. That's pride speaking btw. I'm reminded of a certain Pharisee who stood at the center of the temple, in full view of people, and proclaimed that he was thankful he was not like a certain humbled and contrite tax collector who kept to the corner and meekly asked for mercy and forgiveness.
The church is the body of Christ, not the physical building. Is this a challenging time? Yes. Does it impede on your ability to congregate? Definitely. So? Somehow, not being able to go to worship service is such a war crime that no other concerns matter, but Pastor MacArthur will wax lyrical about Christians and the meaning of their vote. Which is it? Citizens with equal parts to play in social responsibility? Or an exclusive club that claims citizen benefits with extra privileges, and can decide as and when they want to be citizens again?

However, in light of this pandemic why aren't we talking about 2 Chron 7:13 "...If I send pestilence among my people." This then leads to "If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." This is a obvious wake up call and a opportunity to share the gospel. Act 17:30 "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" Jesus saves.

He met for sex with his married lover...twice. Ferguson had symptoms of Covid-19, and this woman's husband also has symptoms. The husband won't be searching out Neil Ferguson for having sex with his wife.....they are in a "open" marriage....two children.

Christians should have done their homework: When the bubonic plague reached Wittenburg, Germany, in August 1527, Martin Luther led by example, declaring: “I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated.” Luther wanted to avoid infecting others and causing their death through his “negligence.” He saw this action as wholly consistent with Christianity: “See, this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.” Luther also invoked the Bible’s admonition in the book of Leviticus that social-distancing and quarantine are essential to prevent the spread of disease. “We must do the same with this dangerous pestilence,” he wrote.

Also, this would be in line with Romans 13:1-2 about submitting yourself to the authorities. MacArthur and others are trying to make it a "faith" thing. When you think of his big church's budget and salaries, he figures a few lives won't be missed much as long as everyone gets paid.

@@martin9410 "Faith comes by listening to God's word" (Romans 10:17). There will be no anarchists in God's Kingdom. Christians are commanded to love, feed, and give water to our enemies in chapter 12 of Romans. Hence, Romans 13 can never be an authority over God's command for Christians to love enemies. The government may not see it this way, but my faith does not depend on the governments authority, but God's. "Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:28, 29).

@@JohnJakeWilliam Not sure where you're going with all that. We're not discussing one authority over another authority. In many cases, they can co-exist. And this is one of those cases. For instance in 1918-1919, when churches and other public venues had to close their doors for pandemic reasons. Overall, churches helped the local authorities. They didn't try to turn it into a religious freedom event. Churches continued ministering to the needy and they met outdoor in small numbers, prayed for one another, etc. till the pandemic was abated. Through their efforts to help the governing authorities on these matters, after the churches were allowed to reopen, they even established a better rapport within their communities. And this was prior to social media, Facetime, Zoom, email, cell phones, etc.
Also, you're not understanding the context of the passages you cite. First of all, these apostles were teaching in Solomon's Colonnade. So they were in the Sadducees and Pharisees' home court. This also was a spiritual battle within the Jewish community between accepting Jesus as the Messiah or not. The Jewish religious leaders were not the ruling Roman government. This was a religious situation, not a secular political one. In addition, our government isn't saying that from now on you can't teach in Jesus' Name. You're not using proper discernment on this passage. Our government is not trying to stop the message from getting out. If they were, our Bibles would have been taken, religious radio stations removed, no online services or bible studies, etc. Don't mistake a health crisis for a religious one.

Neil Ferguson has just resigned......he didn't follow the social distancing orders that he insists everyone else must follow. He met twice with his married lover......she's in a "open" marriage. Both Ferguson and this woman's husband had symptoms of this virus. That's how "serious" Ferguson takes this. A woman ( mother with 3 children and 19 employees) in Dallas, TX. was arrested and thrown in jail for 7 days because she opened her salon. The judge told her to apologize because she was " being selfish." This mother was trying to put food on the table for her children.........and food on the tables of her 19 employees.......who were going hungry themselves so that their children could eat. The Texas, Attorney General bailed her out himself and said he would serve her time. Gov. Abbott has backed down. Get better sources of news, Matthew. Dr. Fauci says a second pandemic is coming this fall....and EVERYONE must be vaccinated when the vaccine comes out. Matthew, the vaccine will be either a DNA vaccine or an RNA vaccine....neither of these vaccines have ever been used.....although they have wanted them for some time now. People couldn't gather anywhere, not just churches. When America is nearing 100,000 deaths from a pandemic with no vaccine or reliable method of testing it makes sense to prevent activities that spread it the most. Congregating in churches is almost guaranteed to infect hundreds and kill dozens. Church services could still be conducted on live stream, or personal services could be hosted by individuals. So no, it's not evil to include churches among every other facility in the country as places we could not gather.

What the majority of people in this evil world fail to understand is that your doctors, nurses and politicians are all clueless about this Coronavirus nonsense. There is only one thing and one thing alone that will cause you to catch this virus. It is not sneezing, it is not close contact and wearing a face mask will definitely not protect you. Plus wearing a face mask and social distancing will only make you look like a fool and they will reveal that you are a sinner who clearly does not know God. President Trump, your Governors and politicians and even most of your local preachers are nothing more then godless fools who are leading you astray and they are proving that they know absolutely zilch about God and His commands. It is sin and sin alone that will cause you to be afflicted with this virus or any other disease, tragedy or disability.
Psalm 107:17. “Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.”
Translated it is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness. So this means that if you are someone who can get sick or someone who is currently suffering then you are a sinner who is not following God and you are simply following the devil lies. You may not be someone who is breaking the laws of men but you are most definitely breaking the laws or commands from God.
I do not even carry health care or insurance since I know without a doubt that I can never get sick. And I would gladly sit in a room filled with people with the Coronavirus to help awaken lost and misguided souls. It would not bother me nor scare me in the least and I would not wear a mask because I know that no sickness can ever touch me. I just laugh at the hysteria and nonsense that has been caused by this Coronavirus and I can clearly see why the majority of mankind will be spending their eternity in hell.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”
      ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:1-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Allow me now to give you some scripture from the New Testament with somethings that Jesus related to us.
“Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ” Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭5:8-14‬ ‭NKJV
Jesus said SIN NO MORE to the sick man that He healed. So if Jesus instructed the man to sin no more this then means this it is possible for a Christian to get to a place where he could not sin anymore? Next, Jesus and the apostles could heal every sick person who came to them, so why was this so? It was because there is no sickness with God, there never was and there never will be since sickness comes from sin and the devil. This means that not only was Jesus sinless but the apostles also reached a place where they were sinless also. And please do not try and reason that Paul was someone who got sick as most misguided souls like to believe. If Jesus, Peter, Paul or any of the apostles could cast the sickness and demons out of everyone who came to them, what could possibly make anyone think that they themselves could ever get sick? Could they not just remove the sickness from themselves as they did with everyone else? Now let’s take sickness even a step further and look at the Paralytic man’s story as related to us in Mark 2.
“But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘ Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” -He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
      ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2:8-11‬ ‭NKJV‬
Jesus said, “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘ Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? This scripture is relating to us that Jesus forgave the man’s sins and because He did, the man could now walk. So Jesus is clearly stating that it was the man’s sins that crippled him. So once again you have scripture clearly telling you that if you are someone who can get sick then it is because you are sinning by doing wicked things and you are not following God or His commands.
So all of this proves that a Christian can get to a place where he does not sin anymore and if you are someone who can get sick then you are definitely no where near that place. Most believers fail to understand that Jesus restored everything that we had lost in the Garden of Eden and the reason that they are not experiencing it in their life is simply because they do not understand it and they do not believe it.
