I wish they would just go back to making keys for cars, they always work.
Seems legit like Im robbing my own car. I bet someone would call the cops if they saw me do this
@@djbxandsbr451 I'm not denying that racism is rampant in america but I would suspect any white person of stealing a car if I saw them doing this lol, I probably won't tell though cuz I like to mind my own business
Especially if you're doing this in leggings /sweat pants and flip flops...
Yes, I'd call the cops if SOMEONE USED A KEY TO OPEN A CAR DOOR... you know, because that was NEVER A THING IN THE PAST...
fml
I am new to this as my last vehicle was 14yrs. old so I truly appreciate this for when I might need it! Thank You!
And here I was wondering why in the world I had a key when I had keyless entree and remote start. But now it all makes sense
@@Albertojedi LOL, you also read the terms and conditions agreement for everything you sign up for? Just curious
They key also works in the glove box...FWIW, you can still get in most cars and start them even if the key fob battery is dead...and without the key! Just hold the fob on the door handle or the ignition button. It uses NFC to power the fob enough to use it.
Imagine owning this car during a Zombie Apocalypse, freaking zombies would start eating you alive before you had the chance to even unlock the bloody door of your car to escape....😂😂😂
I'll take my chances with smashing the window and jumping in might even throw myself threw the window like a Dolphin
Not if your anti zombie partner was watching your six. I would suggest practicing a few dozen times so you can do it in under 5 seconds. Or just buy old cars.
Me: is late for work
This lock: you'll be even later
You think calling a locksmith or the dealership or having your car towed is faster? Really?
@@robs1052 still better than calling a tow truck in my opinion. Might have to de-ice the handle otherwise looks pretty easy. Personally, I don't ever plan to live that far north again. I'm done dealing with snow unless I plan a snowmobile or skiing trip.
Bruh I hope I can see tutorials like this
-no intro
-discussing possible things that might happen
The best part is you need a constant supply of touch up paint from the key dragging on the door!
These aren't features, bro. They're design flaws.
Every body talking about how long it wil take but the first hole is really close to the paint of the car you know how many scratch marks youre gona make if your in a hurry😂😂 ( sorry for the bad english im from the nederlands )
I appreciated the clear instruction provided for opening my car with a dead battery.
I think I'll stick with my Key for door and key for ignition and manual Transmission
Been trying for months will try this technique tomorrow and keep u posted cheers
Holy crap! Thanks for this. I had this happen, my car didn't lock so I got in, no remote detected. Had to have the extra key fob brought to me.
Wow. And to think people got paid to create this stupid setup. What's wrong with just having the key hole next to the door handle??? It's been working for over 50 years no problem.
I've had my car since 2018! Thank you for this video!!
You are a life saver!!
This video saved my mom from getting her car towed! Excellent video.
I was just about to tow my car im in the middle of no where thank you so much!!!!
Glad you had the internet in the middle of nowhere, LOL. Thanks for watching.
Thank you sir.
Thank you !
Thank you for showing. Your lokal Carthief Comunity 😉
Is not going to help a car thief unless they have the key and fob which in that case your screwed anyway.
Ive had to do this multiple times on my xts, and it never come off that easy! In real. Life it takes a good 5 to 10 minutes of fiddling with it and trying to not scratch the paint.
Was looking for a video to unlock the door when the car battery is dead and came across this one. A jump box doesn't work very well when it's inside a car that won't unlock!! This should do the trick. Thank you!!
Thank you sir.i had an experienced with my Toyota highbrid it doesn't work. Thanks a great info.
Image being lit trying to get into your car!
Thank you
On some GM models, you it to program a new key fob. Insert key into the driver door key cylinder. Turn the key to the lock position 5 times, this will set the keyless entry control module in the learn mode
Hey that's fantastic but it only works on Cadillac on that year model but it is very good information thank you
Somebody commented that they have the same system on 2016 Malibu and on many other models as well.
Thank you so much bro, me also trapped so same way i unlock my Lexus ES 350....👍
God bless you....👌👍😊
Thx 🙏🏻
Now thats a Caddy..i love it
Nombre SOS un genio 😅😅 estás en una apuracion y así de rápido te salvas 🤣🤣🤣
I was going to say something about how "in 20 years" but then I saw the Cadillac badge and knew it wouldn't last 10
Thank God I found this video 😂😂😂 I was DONE FOR!!!!
This works well in warm climates. What do you do in the cold freezing months of winter. I would like to see a video in sub zero weather with ice formed around the latch.
Yep, I would love to see that video myself. Luckily I live in Florida and don't have to deal with gloves and ice.
Great info... how about a video for when you lose the key fob. How to start car then
If you loose the key fob, you loose the key. If you have just the key, opening the door with the key will allow you to press the start button. It bypasses the proximity sensor.
Omgee thank you, my damn key battery died and I was like...what the Hell!...lol
That's too much man ✔️💯🤔
thanks man now i can car nap more
My mom had to do this with her traverse, except since it was in the garage we kept it unlocked, her car wouldn’t start from it and it actually told her to open the compartment behind the touchscreen and place the key inside to start it. She’s been using the secondary key now and we’re waiting on cr 2032 batteries
Yea thats why I prefer my 20 yr old jeep no electronics to deal with lol plus one of the most user friendly cars I've driven as far as fixing parts headlights ect
In a rainy day, this will be 👍👍👍👍👍
And there was me thinking "how can you break into these things..."
This video gave me the motivation to come out of retirement.
What an absolute crap design. By the time I have got the door open I've been mugged 10 times .
All vehicles with electric locks have a manual key override somewhere. You just have to read this thing called the vehicle manual to find it.
@@HoloScope You should read/know these kind of things as soon as possible after buying the car.
It's funny how folk being able to read is getting so rare, going to have to start implanting small computers into heads so folk can think.
And now by putting the cover back on, you have locked yourself out of the car again. 😁
Get outta here!! Thank you 😊 I had no idea until now and had this vehicle for 4yrs now 🤦🏾♀️
That’s a lot of work! I’ll walk home
Thank you!
I asked the dealer how i could do this and he said, "Oh you won't need to do that." Than why is there a key sir?
Exactly! You won't need to do that until the battery inside your keyfob dies. Unless you replace the battery before that happens, that's the only way to get inside your car.
Some of them have a manual key override to start the car with the "hidden key" just under the steering column.
That is a smart idea from Cadillac with the key
Ya rite.. the whole concept is great huh . Complicated keys and batteries are so cool n having to pop off lids for hidden keyholes, . The best...😒
Does this work on all cars with this kind of keyless entry?
I had to do this once with my 2007 Volkswagen Passat years ago.
Me: my car has a visible key hole
Also me: keeps a spare battery in my wallet
None of this would be necessary if most ppl were honest. I’ll take the old pull up locks any day 🎉
So is basically a normal handle with keyhole but they decided to have no hole in the cover
And if you want to get to the keyhole you have to scratch your car
Seems kind of pointless to me
Gee. I didn't know that.
Wait till winter plastic gets brital
TH-cam and people that make video's like this have saved me in all different types of scenarios, thx.
