Love how your horse came out. I can see how the drawing process would go faster because the base layer is pretty much done and you can just focus on starting with the details. It's also nice you can still use the colored pencils for another project if it had similar colors.
working on my third grizale picture, the quality of materials is on the whole very good. The paper is by Legion and is one of my favorite drawing papers. In the first kit pencils included were by prismacolor, my first time using them, not a big fan; the newer kits contain their own pencils which in my opinion are much better than prismacolor, especially as they don't break! I can recommend these kits as a way to learn textures, and skip the drawing process.
I agree the quality is great. I own Legion paper as well. I'm glad they don't have prismas because IMO, fur/hair drawings work better with a slightly harder core pencil.
How fun! Lisa from @Lachri Fine Art also has one of a clown fish that is beautiful with purples, yellows, and oranges. You don’t get pencils in the kit though so the kit you got seems better for those who don’t own their own. Good job!
