    2 slightly less salty sailors. 👍👍😁
    Loved the victory dance. 😁 Be careful though, with that much energy in 1 dance you might sprain something. 😂
    Best wishes from the Northern Gulf of Mexico 🙏🙋‍♂️

    Compliments on the installation, can understand that these machines are complicated and one needs so much patients. Bravo💪🏼👌🏼
    Could you inform what model you chose as we are also looking into this accessory. More or less how often would one have to change the filters.????
    Love to see your joy and enthusiasm.
    Well done !!!🥰🤗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
    Time to celebrate 🍾🥂🌅⛵

      Hi Fifi, thanks a lot! Was a fund ride though especcially as it was tricky to find the matching connectors between US and EU standards on our boat=) we went for a cape horn 330, quite a beast and works great so far! have it running since 5 weeks and did not change a filter yet, the filters are quite cheap though (10 USD) and one can use the up to 3 times=) what boat do you want to install it on?

      @@WhenSailing oh thanks guys for your super reply. We have the Oceanis 411.... 4 cabin....so would have to see where is best as we hope to install heating in autumn.
      That's for tip off with filters.... excellent. 👌🏼👍🏼

      Mille Grazie Rosa!! é incredibile=) fin adesso molto semplice - non abbiamo ancora cambiato un filtro e abbiamo le taniche piene ogni settimana=) serve solo un po di manutenzione se non viene usate per più di 5 (o più di 30 gironi con un upgrade hardware) giorni=) ci mancate e tanti baci 😘

    Real nice video 👍 Could you trace with your finger the layout of your water maker and why did you had to buy very specific parts after the box had arrived?

    • @WhenSailing
      @WhenSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andrew😊 could yoj explain the trace question please?:) not sure what you mean?:) all the tubes and connectors for the salt water to the watermaker and then from the freshwater to the tanks we had to find:) and some connections are american standards and some european😜

    Thank you very much for the videos you share .... in a month I will install a Watermaker Spectra Cape Horn on my Jeanneau 469, so it would be very interesting to know which spaces of your sailboat they chose for the different components and the ability to access them for checkup or maintenance.
    Should I assume that the incoming water went through a solution that they already had or did they place a through-hull?
    In short, any advice is welcome.
    Greetings from Chile

    • @WhenSailing
      @WhenSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Eugenio, awesome! really love the watermaker so far! we managed to install all above the tank in the forward cabin, both pumps too, it is not super accessible there but uses space that was not used before so we did not loose any space, also there is not much maintenance on the unit except for filterchanges...will place a through hull later, currently we used a empty one from the head, good luck with the installation🙏🤞🏼

    Just found your channel. Had to love a bout the dance in the beginning. Good to see happy people. I also want to work online so any advice on exact speeds for uploads and downloads at each location with the best options, would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps you can compile a small guide? I can't wait for Starlink Mobile (hopefully coming end of the year)

    • @WhenSailing
      @WhenSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaa yea same here, starlink might make it a lot easier - currently it depends a lot on were you are but then again the internet on the anchorages is mostly better then on land, we have clear sight to hills or mountains with the 4G antennas so just depends on the overall island coverage:) in the mediterranean it was no problem at all and you have unlimited reaming in all of europe, here in the carribean it is a bit more tricky😆 thanks for watching☺️⛵️ whats your plan?

    Another reason the water is so sweet is that it contains no chlorine as most land sources of water do. As well as purity goes, that 280 is bad compared with drinking water in Melbourne, where I'm from. I couldn't fit a water maker aboard my boat, just nowhere to mount the pump. But I bought a portable watermaker, a RainMan, from Sydney and it can make 180L of water per hour, so I'm not unhappy with that .I also had to buy a small generator as well but having one is not a bad thing.
    Now, my guess is the next parcel is LiFePO4 batteries because that's a hell of a lot of power being used now - but how will you charge them?

    • @WhenSailing
      @WhenSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahaha Thanks Ian! Yea it is really amazing! Still 280 is way better then the water we can find on those islands here😜 but were we grew up it is probably also way better 🏔 wow - 180 is massive! it runs off 12V and quite good with consumption while sunny☺️ but next upgrades gonna be exciting😅 already fighting with fedex for delivery it is quite a mess🙈

    • @ianb4801
      @ianb4801 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WhenSailing ah, huge difference is that my RainMan uses 230vAC. The 12V version is far less powerful. Have you gone into how you schedule water making? With mine, the first 10L of each run goes into a container so I can flush out the seawater side at the end. Must you do that with your water maker?

  • @westmc45
    @westmc45 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I certainly hope your not making water from a Marina I never run my water maker while docked. Supposed to be using clean sea water. But hey its your water maker.

    • @WhenSailing
      @WhenSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      we are not making water in the marina😜 the pre filters are quite powerful though, would close up before the membrane itself breaks down💪🏻
