Mostly about undertones of your skin actually. If you have warm undertones (green veins inside wrists) you tend to look better in gold. If you have cool undertones (purple or blue veins inside wrist) you probably look better in silver. If you have both you have a neutral undertone and both gold and silver suit you equally. Ofc this is according to color theory, there are no rules in fashion. I personally mix silver and gold most of the time
