- Ever wondered which occult has the strongest genes? Well be prepared to have that question answered!
There are quite a few Occult types in the sims 4, however as this is a breeding/pregnancy challenge I decided to stick to the main occults that are a permanent life state. The occults featured in this videos are: vampires, spellcasters, mermaids and Aliens.
In order to find out which occult has the strongest genes I decided to have to vampire and the spellcaster breed together and the mermaid and the alien also had a baby together.
The final step in finding out which occult has the strongest genes is for the offspring of the vampire, spellcaster, mermaid and alien to have a baby together, that baby will represent which occult has the strongest genes!
If you watch this full video however, you’ll learn that things didn’t quite go to plan…turns out the mermaid and the alien don’t have very strong genes at all!

I think it is (or at least was) possible to have hybrids, but it's a glitch. If you're really interested I think there might be some households on the Gallery with hybrids
@@duckincosplay ah its disappointing that it has to be glitched in i want a conflicted sim who has a tail and wants to swim in the sun but will turn to a pile of ash if he even tries or maybe a siren who lure their next vamp meal in with their mermaid song lol

The children being an occult has something to do with how high the parents rank is in that occult. The higher the rank the better the bloodline.
I think what this video really proved is that breeding occults is EXTREMELY broken, but it was entertaining nonetheless just for the comfy-core vampires. XD

There's an issue with aliens because alien + non-alien = hybrid (except when abducted.) So it sets you to 50% of being the occult or just a regular Sim, and you may not even get the alien skin tone. However, I've also had this issue in game where my Caster Sim was abducted twice, had a baby both times, and both times the babies were not aliens or casters, and had human skin tones, but did have the caster bloodline trait. There's a big bug report on EA Help for it, too. This was before Cottage Living patch.
I think that's intentional because when you have a half-alien human have a baby with an alien, they always have alien babies. It's like a recessive gene.
I had to get a mod to change occult status at will after I ran into (unmodded) hybrid issues, too - particularly with mermen getting abducted and their offspring *appearing* full alien as intended but then developing a mermaid form as teenagers that brakes the Sim, essentially .. so annoying. I find that alien spellcasters work fine, since spellcasters don't have a second form and thus their alien form/disguise isn't impacted, but haven't had vampire hybrids in a while myself, so unsure about those ..
They fully know how their code works, why do I have to get a mod to be able to play with occults? Yes, I want to have merfolk scientists even though I know they're going to get abducted eventually .. the devs have *tried* to fix the unintended hybridisation for YEARS, to no avail, apparently.
so what would happen (theoretically) if a spellcaster and alien had a child naturally (not by abduction). would they be half alien casters (have the alien skin tone but not the alien powers), just spellcasters, full aliens or just regular sims with no magic? the game seems so indecisive about what occult traits babies get, its so random lol
@@rhaengelos3453 How it's supposed to work is the Sim has a 50/50 chance of being one occult or the other. So for an alien it would be a "hybrid" which is a normal Sim with an alien skin tone who can do the secret handshake.
@@writinggamer8059 ohh okay so that means if i make a hybrid and want them to also do magic and not be normal with blue skin i'll need to rite of ascension them? and i thought only full aliens could be the secret handshake because on a website it said hybrids don't get the alien social interactions either. and now i know theres 0% chance to get a complete alien and spellcaster in one born naturally without cheats! i will be using MCC
But Tootsie's plumbbob is normal and doesn't have the vampire circlet. She also doesn't have a thirst bar, her needs are human needs but she still has vampire perks. Weird.
I mean it would make sense seeing as she's only half vampire, therefore probably doesn't need plasma to survive like her father. Though she likely still benefits from doing so.
I was actually surprised to see this experiment at all because last I checked mating two occult sims breaks the game and that’s probably the “broken” part of it.
@@KatieT97 it broke mine and i had to use cheats to fix it. My game had a vampire and mermaid couple. Their children were weird hybrids and would get stuck in mermaid form but also have vampire interaction options

When she said he was 200 years old I was like 'for a vampire!!!' that's practically a baby.
The reason Zoop Zoop turned out to be a regular sim was because when an Alien has a baby with a non-alien sim, their child will not be an alien. So, instead, Zoop Zoop didn't take after his Mermaid mother, he took after his Alien father, but became a normal sim, cuz Aliens.

Even when they’re a toddler, you can tell if they’re a vampire bc they’ll have little bat wings on the icon for the needs in the bottom right x
Only *full* occults have a different plumbob, but the game is glitchy about who it recognizes as *full* .. I've accidentally tested this in my game, and most occult offspring retain at least partial occult features, but hybrids of several occults tend to not get the full occult interface, which is very annoying since it interferes with gameplay (e.g. mermaid alien hybrids from abductions *should* be "just" alien by design but tend to develop mermaid form when aging up to teenager - but CAS doesn't support three forms, so they "break" :(
I really wish we could get the option to have an alien sim decide not to have a "human" disguise so they would only have two forms at that point.
You should do an occult baby challenge like dicee where you have a baby with every single magical being 😂

You know, the Alien and Mermaid child may have been a Hybrid as EA likes to pretend that it's not happening but it does happen.
Ugh, I had so many of those mermaliens, had to get a mod to fix it, too, since there is no way in game to de-mermaid an alien (and obviously none to turn between alien and not-alien) that works properly (I _think_ mermadic kelp used to occasionally do the trick, but hasn't worked for me at least since one of the patches that was supposed to END ALL HYBRIDS (again) .. I don't understand why they don't simply add the other occult slots onto the CAS slots if they can't manage to functionally prevent hybridization, so the players can actually CHOOSE whether they want them or not.

We didnt just learn the genes but we also learned that vampires have a soft spot for cute things.
Alien hybrids can appear human but have powers except for the alternate form.

My vampire Sim had a baby with a spell caster and the baby turned out to be a vampire and a spell caster.
When I breed a vampire with a spellcaster, I get a hybrid. I have no mods and this just happens. The needs bar is the vampire bar, and there is a spell book under it. I can get new spellcaster abilities, but the vampire is always the lowest level. Have to keep him out of the sun.
also sometimes hybrid children don't have any indicators that they're an occult so the alien child was most likely a mix you just have to play with him to see his powers
So, from the way I've seen it, Aliens and Mermaids have a 50/50 chance of passing. It's like the games version of recessive genes.
No, (in game) aliens with non-aliens ALWAYS have half-alien offspring (so they CAN have alien skin, but at least all have the alien socials like the secret alien handshake, even if they manifest as "full" other occult) .. they don't have a disguise, so you'd have to *play* the sim in question to know which abilities they have, but those half-aliens can have functional alien offspring with other half-aliens (or higher percentage aliens). Alien hybrids only exist from abduction of other occults, afaik. According to the Sims team, offspring between different occults is *supposed* to be always either one or the other, but that obviously doesn't work always.
Yeah my vampire sim got abducted twice. (one time he had triplets) and all 4 baby's were regular humans. I think there is a bug or something with aliens.
It's funny cause when I had a vampire and spellcaster they got married and had 3 kids and they were all hybrids they had spellcaster powers but they had vampire energy so they didn't like the sun, they drank plasma and had thirst and could mediate.

Once a friend made her spellcaster simself had a baby with Caleb, she really reeeaaaally wanted the babe to be a vampire so she bought a vampire's bassinet and named the girl Alcina when she came into the world... just to find out when she aged up that she was a spellcaster xD
In my game I have a Vampire-Alien-Family (my second sims family ever :D ) and I always hoped for vampire babies but I got so many Alien babies... I saved during the pregnancy and tried again after I got the wrong occult but that trick doesn't really work anymore, does it? I got 3 alien babies and 1 vampire baby!

Really no way same here except they are gay both male They have a son who is a vampire and there's daughter look like a alien not sure she have her alien dad skin that all I know I looked at cas is not showing a alien trait one dad is a vampire and the other one is an alien
You can tell a childs occult type as toddlers. It Shows the symbol on their needs icon
Incase you didn't know the spellcaster have special bloodlines like ancient, strong and weak and the chances of having a spellcaster baby sometimes depends on bloodline

Oddly enough, I had a Spellcaster have twins with Caleb Vatore, and both kiddos came out Spellcasters. (Maybe only Vladdy Daddy has those super-powerful genes lmao)

I had a sim be born with both alien and vampire traits. Came out as an alien physically but had the vampire powers and needs. Not sure if that was a glitch with the game or my mods but I thought it was so cool that I didn't bother changing the sim. This has only happened with alien + vampire in my game. No other occult yet.

I did this experiment with a spellcaster and a vampire. The baby ended up being a spellcaster but having vampire features. Sim genetics are weird

I have an alien-mermaid hybrid who was (and still kinda is) glitchy. I managed to sort of remove the mermaid trait so that she’s able to keep both her alien and disguise outfits but her legs still turn into rubber when taking a bath.
I have so many mermaids who are glitching out all the time, f.e. they get random outfits every time I go into CAS. How did you remove the mermaid trait?

Sure, but as 'experiments' go, completely wasted effort. It's more of a gene championship. An experiment would require *so* many more babies.

I had a spellcaster have a child with a vampire and a werewolf and both kids came out as spellcasters. I was highly disappointed! Lol
I had an alien dad and meremaid mom have a kid. It turned out to be triplets, three boys who were identicle, and were both aliens and merepeople. That was insane!!

If you look at the bottom bar right afteryou aged up zoop zoop , it showed he did a have Occult sqiggle by the neeeds bar slot, this happened to mine recently but it doesnt always show in CAS 'if' they are a hybrid , I tried this with Darrel Charm and Lileth Vatore spell caster Vs Vampire, NO MODs used, i ended up with a spell caster vampire Hybrid, when you went into CAS she appeared to be neither, just a regular sim , but in fact she had vampire health bars , and the spell caster book , i then made the fatal mistake of letting her feed from a possesed sim grrr happy days she had to play the strangerville aspiration to get get unpossesed then learn vampire lore to make the draft of vampire curse cleansing, shes now just a regular but now top ranked spell caster, honestly shes been the most fun sim ive have ever played juggeling her needs as a vampire and learning the spell caster stuff whilst being possesed at night and keeping her alive took a lot of work but has been so much fun. I have put a copy on the library about 3 days ago, Dana Vatore is her name and on there she just turned teen if anyone wants to give her a try :) Not sure what i will try to create next but the hybrid was a pleasant surprise and fun to play :)

There are, but I don't think they have "genes" that can be passed down. For instance, you might be able to have a baby with Patchy, but that doesn't mean there is a chance the baby will come out a scarecrow.
Well that solved the question of the vampire mermaid couple I was going to make. I might still experiment further to see if the alien mermaid baby was a fluke

To my experience alien often have hybrid children if they are with anyone other than another alien, mermaids are difficult to get, vampires have extremely strong genetics, spell caster, well I know they don't have great or easy time making more spell casters when they are married to a vampire
You can see if a toddler is a vampire at the bottom right hand corner 🤣

i think alien genes is like, 2 aliens have a baby and it will be an alien. 1 alien 1 human it will be a human but may look like a baby idk if thats sims 3. if its 1 alien 1 other occult i think its like either a human or the other occult. im ntoi good at thsi

oh god, vlad... like i mean you have a point my reapers love him, and the baby is indifferent (i set it on long lifespan) but my God character, who has achieved immortality btw as well as abducted an alien and made him immortal too. vlad HATES her, they do not get a long at all. and it might have something to do with the AI it seems my God Character remembers eating sunlight for its entire teenlife and 2 fountain of youth's of young adult. because when my vampire reaper tried to complain about the sunlight to her, she didn't stop being happy or anything but she bitched her out
Ruby's needs bar is messed up, so she could be a hybrid, (doesn't have vampire energy bar) mostly a vampire though so that's good

correct me if I'm wrong, but when aliens have half-alien children...isnt the only thing weird about the child the skin color? and like a 50/50 chance of spawning the alien crib (in my experience, and this was back before even jungle adventures came out sooo I might be outdated)
I actually did this, out of my experimentation. Majority of the babies are either mermaids and vampires. If your Sims are two different occults and you get the twins chance, the twins will have two different occults. And there's a chance to have a human baby, I have 2 human babies from two occult parents.
I have a female alien married to a merman, and their children are a mix, they have both powers, I can alter the alien disguise but not the mermaid form
I made a vampire and a spellcaster get a baby. They got twins. One spellcaster and one vampire.

My mermaid an vampire had a baby and even though it’s a toddler, I could see it’s a mermaid because of the needs. You can see when the needs are all up. Vampires have wings, mermaids look like a shark, spell caster had a book. Not sure about alien. Either way, try different combinations, could come out with different results.
I had a mermaid and a vampire have kids and the became hybrids and bugged so that there mermaid tail never disapeard :(
Well my theory is: there's basically a 50% chance of a vampire and another non-vampire having a vampire, the other 50% is human. same with all the occults, 50% to have an occult 50% to have a human. Then you get into making a hybrid and the chance to have a human is still 50% on both sides, so you're actually more likely to have a human than a hybrid when mixing occults. Sort of a 25/50/25 chance I guess.
That could be complete shit though, it's just my guess as to what happened.

To make a proper evaluation, you would need to go 5 on each set to get any real information.
When I have a alein n mermaid together they always had alein n sometimes a mermaid baby

I mean, saying I hope you get the answer you're looking for is a very neutral thing to say actually😂 if you want a no or a yes, just hope it's the one you want lol
And then in dicees occult baby challange the vampire genes didn't make it through at all :D
You know what's interesting though, if you make a vampire and a mermaid have a baby, the baby will be mostly a vampire, but it'll also need hydration and turn into a mermaid when in water. And these genes just DO NOT LEAVE THE FAMILY LINE after that. I can't remember if they need to eat food or plasma, though.
EDIT: I just checked, and yeah, they need to drink plasma and they do need hydration still. But the little icon for their needs shows the mermaid sign, so I think that mermaids, genetically, are the stronger occult.
In my experience, the mermaid gene is stronger than the vampire gene 90% of the time and it pisses me off.
everyones saying they wish they had hybrids without cheats.But my game has successful hybrids for all the occults and sometimes even all four !! No cheats, no mods just pure luck. Sometimes they come out weird but they're usually fine
Soon (i hope) i will have a new pc and will start a new vampire family. I will try to remember this headcanon that vampires wear cute shit when they are kids or when they go to sleep/woohoo.
