The only way this isn't true is if inflation remains high, so that nominal stock prices rise even as real stock values remain stable or decline (stagflation), and that's a scenario in which nobody wins.

We have become more selfish "individualistic" and 2/3 of us are programmed as a "red" or a "blue" and their brains contain very little independent thought on political or social issues. We need more educated and altruistic citizens, and we need to avoid groupthink and following false prophets. And for that kind of major change, we need food prices to triple or some major famine that actually affects people's comfort. People are too stupid to change on their own.
Can't we come up with a strategy to address the SUPPLY side of inflation instead of just attempting to crush demand by raising interest rates and trying to lower wages and employment? You know, actually making people's lives easier instead of harder.
