Thank you. I play the Great Highland Bagpipe from Scotland which normally takes at least 8 years to play it properly .. i heard about the same for the Shakuhachi . so i learn this instrument now :) .. i love challenges, and i love the old traditions ;) .. thanks for this lovely documentation !
Very inspiring. I am a 56 year old American male who has taken up playing this wonderful, beautiful and enchanting instrument. Really enjoyed this video!
My teacher, Yoshinobu Taniguchi, taught shakuhachi at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. The shakuhachi is an instrument that plays the sounds of nature. I would appreciate your interest in shakuhachi. Thank you.
@@BambooFluteYorita That is wonderful, I went to Oberlin! I wish I knew your teacher at that time but I'm glad he was spreading the love of Japanese music.
The beginning of Koden Sugomori is just... transcendental. It takes me to a different place almost immediately. It truly is a magical sound that the Shakuhachi creates. I hope you keep producing masters of this type of music.
que Yorita San, continue a inspirar-nos à vôos mais altos em suas apresentaçoes.Pois, para tal propósito têm um excelente mestre e um método próprio em tocar.
I want your cd can not find it in the USA? What a great master! Love to watch you play I am just starting Shakuhachi no teachers in my area! Love your music! You inspire me playing and trying to copy your sound on the Shakuhachi, but have a Shakuhachi YUU. I contacted you on the web hope to see and hear more from you. I studied Ninjutsu for many years, and my path has brought me to the Shakuhachi, thank you for the Music .
If I don't make it wrong, the musical concepts of Shakuhachi are so much similar to Guqin, the most ancient string instrument of China. Even the ways of notation follow similar rules!
I've been obsessed with Mamino Yorita's work since Inazuman music from genshin impact came out. She truly is an amazing and gifted musician.

Splendidly expressive and technical display here. Wonderful instrument - masterfully played!
子供の時に尺八を吹く環境、指導者が有ったのは幸運でしたね
それをまたきちんと尺八を吹く人生に繋げて環境を生かしたのも良かったですね
どんな良い環境で生かせない人も多いですからね
すばらしいです

Does anyone know what piece Ishikawa sensei plays in this video?

I don't know about that in detail. Both Guqin and Shakuhachi originated from China. I think both have common points in that they play natural sounds.
I woul'd like to ear Gugin style in chinese flout
