Thanks for the terrific introduction to Darren. It sounds as if he has a great skillset to lead the organization into the future. Best of luck, Darren!
Congratulations on your new post!🎉 Aviation is so much important to everything in general.😊 Whether looking at the general, corporate jet, ambulance aircraft, agriculture or commercial. This is a great industry.😊
Congratulations Darren! It has been a long time. For me, still flying acro and building new planes down on the Central Coast. Glad to see you join the org-
As an RC pilot, surely he can understand how that hobby turns into a flying career and advocating for the hobby helps future youth build interest in many diverse aviation careers. Good luck and Congratulations!
I quite AOPA after around 45 years because AOPA has their goals misaligned. When they get rid of the Impossible Turn thought; I will consider rejoining. Let's hope Darren has safety priorities in mind. Welcome aboard Darren, keep favoritism out of the AOPA please.
Hopefully, we can't get any worse than Mark Baker. AOPA needs a TON of help to get back to what they were as opposed to the president's slush fund that it has become.
Privileged, wealthy dude completely disconnected from core AOPA membership and General Aviation writ large. Is this the right choice? This guy has no connection to needs of General Aviation. He has had everything in life handed to him.
What should they do Chuck, pick you because you're not as successful? This guy has the business experience and I would wager more total and recent and varied experience in aviation than you have. He was a flight instructor (Who still teaches) bush pilot in Alaska, corporate pilot, and owns his own airplanes, including ones he commutes in. Sounds like a perfect for President of AOPA. He came from solidly middle class background, went to a state school and worked his way up. And do you know how he did that? He didn't spend his time on the Internet whining jealously about the accomplishments of others.
@@LJDRVR Let's see what his leadership brings! GA is becoming the domain of the wealthy. The fleet is ageing rapidly. The regulatory burden is expanding. So many issues that are awaiting good leadership.
Nicely-produced video. Thanks for introducing us to our new AOPA president!
Saw Mike Ginter today at KCOI Merritt Island, FL, look forward to the new blood getting into the fight for us!
Congratulations and Good Luck leading AOPA into the future.

Darren got his ATP before he was 23!
What hull on the SeaRey? A, B, or C? And an RV-6, nice combo!
Congrats, former president of IAC-38! And a genuinely nice fellow to boot.
Please bring back the regional fly-ins

Stop the push for lead free gas.
Stop the foolishness of the impossible turn.

He paid for college by working as a flight instructor...that's real, self-starter general aviation stuff!
