Lots of them grow up in a household where their parents prefer them to speak English and a lot of schools have a rule where they must speak English at all times on campus. I wouldn't stereotype them saying that they speak patois most of the time. It's different for everybody, some only speak standard English, some, not at all. Again, its different for everybody.
