Habit Rouge parfum is a masterpiece! My favorites from Guerlain are L homme ideal extreme and edp L homme ideal A very nice leathery and plumy scent with vanille is Orchid Leather from Van Cleef & Arpels.

i bought prive... it is nice . not as bad as she is describing...but again perfume is very objective thing. After a few mins it smells really nice. And its very unique fragrance by the way..
Habit Rouge Parfum is a really nice addition to the collection.
my wife hates prive...but when i wear it around other men, they are always curious about this uber masculine smell especially the leather in habit rouge prive. Habit rouge prive might not be as mass pleasing as the Habit rouge parfum version but prive will have you smell like a millionaire who doesnt care about others opinion and that air of confidence will get you noticed.
Prive is one of the most complemented fragrance in 2024 vs the parfum 😎 and mainly from women 😉
Both of them are great, like most of Guerlain’s creations, but I still prefer by far the Privé… Sorry. I feel that Privé has a more authentic Habit Rouge’s DNA, that citrus/leather/vanilla mix is mind blowing, while the Parfum is a very nice liquorish gourmand but it could have any other name, not necessarily HR.

Hi. I don't have the Privé. But, when watching this review I have Habit Rouge Parfum on 1 hand and the Habit Rouge EDT on the other hand. The EDT is more citrussy, green, fresh and brighter, soapy - a classy fragrance. The Parfum to me is gourmandish, denser, and creamier/Rhum (inspired from the EDT with no citrus). The EDT is much more complex than the Parfum and has more notes. Parfum for colder & wet weather. The EDT for milder and warmer weather. The EDT is more versatile and office safe than the Parfum version. Both versions smell excellent and are of superb quality, but since I am a fan of classic fragrances, I like the EDT slightly more. 😊
My scent of the day is Guerlain L'Homme Idéal L'intense.
The Rouge Privé is much closer to the EDT than the Parfum, but with the citric and leather tones boosted like crazy. A bomb, and extremely elegant, in my opinion (I’m > 50, maybe that’s the reason).

Your assessment is correct. I think you said very delicately what we all think: Habit Rouge, Polo Green, Eau Sauvage, etc all small like old man balls to our millennial noses :P
I had to exchange my HR perfum for eau de perfum at saks today. The new formulation is like a nuclear bomb going off. It was just way way too concentrated. My house wreaks of it a day after spraying it ONCE. I haven't smelled Prive, but heard it's fresh and gorgeous. The EDP smells like Habit rouge, The Perfum does not, its a sweet vanilla patchouli bomb.big notes of bourbon and none of the bergamot
Are two great fragances but rouge prive its more like the black sheep of the family.
OMG i was just looking at guerlain l'homme ideal edp reviews and shops to buy it. I don't have any of the line but I think I will get the EDP as that is the highest rated
Get the extreme also. You won’t be disappointed!!
This entire line is great! I really love the edp and find it super unique cause there’s not a lot of masculine fragrances that uses the note of cherry, but the extreme and l’intense are also great
I recommend the new L'Homme Idéal perfume as an more versatile version of the line. The Extreme version is a little sweeter and for me more for special occasions while the EDP a different scent at all. I have more or less the whole line, but I mainly wear now the perfume in everyday life during the colder season. In summer, of course, it's a different matter.

Parfum is for the modern simp who needs a massive dose of thick vanilla to think it’s a good fragrance.
Terrible diffusion, notes all sitting on top of one another, synthetically sweet and headache inducing.
Prive is the best designer release in as long as I care to remember.
Bold, complex, refined.
Well worth your money IF you can be bothered to chase down a bottle from France.
