To be fair I think part of the reason why even some of the good redemption arcs don't seem as satisfying as Zuko's is that the characters usually went too far. For example, Zuko, despite having done bad things, is still a character you can forgive easily because in the end the worst things he has done come down to large scale property damage. Meanwhile, there are redeemed villains out there who did shit like nearly ripping space-time apart in their villainous phase. Even if these characters are easy to sympathise with, even if you want them to get better and their writing is done really well there will always be that reminder in your head that they REALLY fucked up. Meanwhile, with Zuko, you can feel like he has more than made up for his past by the end of his journey.

I’m thinking like a “her past comes back to bite her” story line where the people she’s wronged in the past try to find her and kill here. So she has to kinda be in assassin again while also keeping up with her new found wholesomeness. You could get scenes of her fighting her her yoga tights that way, and the duality would be more at the for front.

I'll just give my idea if people do write this. So the IdealBF would be a bodyguard. It would seem that he's the one that has a clean conscience but as a person who is actually guarding people with a bad history, he'll be the broken one in the story. So on his days off, he wouldn't be as relaxed as what he shows on the outside. He'd try to chill and get things off his mind, but it would show in his eyes. As a bodyguard of criminal organizations he wouldn't be so free to get out of the business, and with his long time spent in them he'd have gotten some habits that are not so good. Or he could just be bodyguarding important people without knowing that they're bad, then realize it in the middle using plot, and he'd have internal conflict and stuff. While the IdealGF, as an assassin who's free to choose who she kills, she'd have a better mindset. Although she's still seen horrible things, she copes better with it. So in her off days she'll be a source of comfort or she would be enjoying herself more. And as she wants to transition into a more carefree life, she would find herself working on assassinations less.
