W video as always ! About the future use of the Cross Action system, I have a feeling that Falcom learned their lesson from the 4 party system games, they’ll probably be able to change stuff up well enough for it to not get old too quickly. How they’d do that I’m not exactly sure yet lol… I still have hope that one of the next games will be a team up of Adol and Geis tho!
Well I guess if there is one company out there who could change things up for it not to get old too quickly it would be Falcom haha. For a recent example the gameplay changes between Daybreak 1 and Daybreak 2 while small were absolutely genius and made the world of a difference and then with Kai oh my god it looks like they cranked it even further beyond! Like you said in your Ys X video, Adol + Dogi has gotta happen and the potential of teaming up with Geis or even Credo would be sick, tons of potential there! My optimal hope for the future of Ys is that the Ys 5 remake is made in the style of the Napishtim system games as a nice spacer in-between the Cross Action games and that the new Ys games are after 9 in the timeline.
8.5 is fair ! Don't want to spoil but I really love where the game is in the timeline (especially since I just bought a PC Engine Duo and played the Ys games on this console before playing Nordics) I'm at the beginning of Chapter 5 and so far it's awesome I am really loving it ! My favorite song is the ancient fish fishing song (Through the North Wind). I also agree about Viking Laxia...eeeh I mean Karja lol the character development is quite good in this one and the bad guys are interresting ! By the way I never experienced that glitch of yours (yet) on PS5 ! Awesome video man, keep up the good work ! :)
Oh nice, the PC Engine version of 1 and 2 is awesome. Viking Laxia haha oh man that's great. I think I got lucky with that glitch xD. Thanks for watching and commenting like this, I appreciate it greatly!
Hard agree on the fact that reusing this new battle system in new entries would burnout even faster than with the party system. Can`t say for sure what Falcom may do in Ys X + I tho
@@theFado96 celceta, seven, dana and monstrum have party based mechanics. vii and ix have the additional hq based mechanics. felghana, naphistim, origins have 2.5d. 1 and 2 have bump mechanics.. i really hope they make another cross mechanic at 1 more game
I'd rather see an Ys V remake first, though. And the new system is pretty good for remaking that game, and that's long overdue (also, something something alchemy). By the way, if you ask me what should come next in terms of remakes… it's *Memories of Celcreta*, and the reason is the story being… really bad. And forgettable. And with a crappy ending (or without one, depending to who you ask). And not precisely due to the premise (be it the Ys 4 elements or some of the new additions). Well, let's be honest, the chances of them using more of the songs from Ys IV JDK special parts 1 and 2 (give them a listen if you haven't, it's really good stuff) this time also matters, but that's not the big reason.
I’m still quite new to the Ys series and pretty much Falcom in general. Played Ys VIII, loved it. And Ys Origins which I also liked. Unfortunately I had to skip Ys IX, definitely regret it….because finding a cheap physical copy of the game at any of my local retailers I visit….is nearly impossible now… *sigh* But anyways, I’m currently still playing Ys X. Absolutely enjoying the combat system, not sure if Falcom will ever retread this combat system because yeah like you said here….it could lose its flare when the system continues within the next 2 or so games. On another note….it’s unfortunate that Falcom seems to have abandoned those Animated introductions from previous Ys games…particularly since the last Ys game I played was VIII and that had an animated introduction, I assume IX doesn’t have an anime introduction at the start….I’m not sure again, didn’t play it lol. Enough of my rambling though….I’m gonna definitely pre-order “Ys Memoire: The Oath of Felghana Refined Edition” for next year.
Oh man physical copies of relatively unknown games is definitely rough after release. We shall see what Falcom does in the future haha. And yeah.... the lack of a proper intro in IX and X is definitely a bit of a let down. If you liked Origin you are sure to enjoy Oath in Felghana, I'm really glad that game got a remaster and is coming to the west.
@@NeoKakarot Yeah. it really is quite rough, I’m currently trying to find a physical copy of Tokyo Xanadu eX+ for the Nintendo Switch as well….Heard good things about that game from Falcom enthusiasts. Hopefully I can find one before it becomes even more difficult….it’s tough being a JRPG fan. Too many great games getting either remastered, released or announced. 2025 is already going to have a good start….there’s Tales of Graces F remaster, Xenoblade Chronicles X definitive edition, Trails to Daybreak 2….and so on. Oh yeah, i know I’m gonna like The Oath of Felghana.
Tokyo Xanadu is like Cold Steel Meets Ys, it's pretty neat also one of Falcom's best overall soundtracks imo. And yeah being a JRPG fan these days is nuts, so many games so little time xD.
same impression here... wow at the end of the game.. 7gb game, manage to impress me with satisfying combat and challenging.. i played ffxvi stop after fought garuda, and i seen enough how the gameplay develop and i think i how the story goes... and to make it worse ffxvi 156gb worth of asset ingame.. owh god
Nah, but maybe one day haha. I had a feeling that if I did the DLC right after finishing the main game that I would burn myself out on the games combat.

We shall see, hopefully Falcom also feel this with this combat system.
after grandblue relink im all for this type of combat.
Here's hoping we get the cross system again in Ys XI, but with Dogi handcuffed to Adol instead XD
Huh for some strange reason youtube deleted my first reply to ya, oh well. Adol and Dogi teaming up in the cross system would be incredible!
