If I could make a suggestion, So, when finding yourself using a singular color when sculpting , try sanding your working then adding a pringer like Mr.Primer Sufacer, then painting using whichever paint you like and using high quality pastels to shadow and Mr. Super clear to seal your work. I understand you probably already know this, but just wanted to be helpful , sorry if you're already aware. But priming your work will give it grip for anything you put on it
@pixiegarza Thank you! Primer never crossed my mind but I always had the question in the back of my mind as to how pastels would stick onto the surface after the sculpture is baked. Duhhh--- a primer haha. I'll have to try this out. I love the look of pastels, it looks almost airbrushed 🙂
you can definitely remove the paint and retry! next time use a primer, such as a spray paint to avoid that issue- black spray paint/primer will work a treat and then you can lay paint right on top to your hearts content- also i’d say using watered down acrylics may be easier to work with and have a smoother finish, but that’s just me!
@arwen8964 This is a great suggestion, I don't know why a primer never crossed my mind haha. And why spray paint didn't either! I have the sculpture tucked away on a sad bookshelf right now but I might take your advice, chip off the paint, and try again 😀Thank you so much for your comment! I will have to try these suggestions out.

Other than that little part that scratched off I think it looks great! The sculpting is insanely accurate to the picture
@MothCattuchini Thank you! I really appreciate the encouragement, I might honestly chip off the paint and give it another shot 😀
