I would leave the algae in with the guppies. They do really well when raised in green water, the colours really come out.

😂 what I told my family and friends if they want to get me a gift to simply get me silicone as it's expensive when building a 36*36*24 enclosure. I have been wanting to build a Paludarium but haven't decided on what to put in it if I did build one.
Thats a Vanda orchid and they are very commonly grown like that and only need a good soak in a bucket for about 10-15 minutes. You can even make a weak water soluble fertiliser and let it soak for the same amount of time to fertiliser it. Just please dont do a water culture set up for orchids, they do not survive in water culture as much as some claim otherwise. A slow watering set up is fine especially if you are in a climate that needs more frequent watering
