The issue with sideswipe is that unlike rocket league there just isn't a clear enough skill gap. The skill roof of sideswipe is much lower so there will never be a definite player or group of players that stand out above all. Cool game and concept, but will struggle to serve as a competitive game and will most likely stand out as a casual game.
hmm yeh cant say i agree with that AT ALL
the diff between say plats (average player) and GC's is absolutely MASSIVE. I dont know what rank you are, but i would wager you're not very high if you're unable to see that difference clearly.
also the game is still in its infancy - only 20 months or so old. I think it still has a way to go in terms of the skill ceiling, and i think we'll see that develop over the next year or so (assuming the game doesnt completely die by then!)
@@Mogzrl I don’t play sideswipe, I am GC3 on Rocket League, but I’m talking between champs and GC haha, not plat and GC let’s not make that mistake lmao.
Look at how close it was, I would argue both players had very good understand of the game and mechanics involved. Now look at rocket league, you could NOT compare both those ranks. There are too many aspects, game decision, mechanics, team awareness, mindset to go into what makes up that rank. So I think it’s hard to say you can’t agree with me.
But I wasn’t saying there wasn’t a competitive aspect to the game don’t get me wrong.
oh 100% bro.. if u wana compare rlss to rocket league (an 8 yearold game with fundamentally more depth and complexity than rlss - cos uh, 1 extra dimension), yes they're not comparable.
dont think its a massively fair comparison tho tbh since i would argue rocket league may be THE ULTIMATE competitive game.
but ye.. doesnt mean it cant be a successful competitive game, or even an esport imo
@@Mogzrl yeah obviously, but I think an esport is pushing it a little haha. My argument was this, that the games skill ceiling will not be high enough to be considered an esport game, but it is a cool concept!!

My peak rank in sideswipe is C4 and the players have just gotten insanely better with the new season reset. I would love to be in a vid cus I have decent mechs for my rank and some pretty good games sense. I am currently C1 but every other game I am playing I am up against a season 9 or 10 gc. The main difference between a gc and a champ though is the recovery, but it would be cool to play against a gc or even a top 100 gc for a vid.
Yo so Mogz I’ve seen ur vid on how to stall but on the reset I keep hitting a purple on accident. Could you tell what I could be doing wrong?
you are getting a reset (stall), but then pressing JUMP, when you should instead be pressing AIR ROLL .. and THEN jump

I’m diamond 3 been trying to break into champ. Nobody deff deserves it man, he killed it and half the time SQ saves were lucky lol. And compared to the second camp, nobody was LEVELS above him

i verify all the participants in these vids. Would never select someone as a 'challenger Champ player' who was previously a GC in 1s but dropped down. They have to NEVER have achieved GC before in 1s.
i definetely deserve plat. im gold iv i can purple flick, gold horse kick, have game sense, can do 1-4 stalls, etc. my opponents get the LUCKIEST goals of all time

I personally think even for content, this method shouldn’t ever be used to judge a rank, u can’t beat every player of ur own rank even, so probably there are people above u that u can and ppl that u can’t. I’ve beaten few GC players myself but that doesn’t mean I deserve it, most gcs would whoop my ass but the same goes for champ. Even my own rank players can sometimes destroy me in a 1v1 and vice versa, great video nonetheless
