Yes it is still open. They do Audubon field trips at the area where you can learn from experienced birders.
I visited last year - it was a slow year for eagles since it was so mild up north.(but I still saw 25 eagles that day.) I hope to get there soon. I have been told the eagles are there in greater numbers this year.
