That's the best MDM I've heard in recent years. At The Gates, In Flames, Soilwork - not even close. MPE are fucking killing it! No fancy stuff of pseudo-art shit. Just some guys playing their fucking instruments like hell. Wow, can't wait for the new album now!

It's in general difficult to get famous as a death metal band I'd say. Also there are a lot of great dm bands out there.

This is how modern melodic death metal SHOULD sound like! Seriously, this year has been great for MDM releases! Allegaeon, Starkill, Scar Symmetry, (arguably) Darkest Hour, and soon we'll get another great release by MPE. GREAT year for MDM!

I always found they were heavier than most MDM, like just sick metal. The main riff to god has fallen might as well be a thrash riff.

When Jori Haukio left after Liberation=Termination I was afraid MPE would disband, since he was such a huge part of the songwriting in the first three albums, at the very least I was doubtful they could keep on making the same quality of music they had done until then; then they had some trouble finding guitar players, and things seemed even more dire for the band. It was such a shame having such an amazing, unique, criminally underrated band disappear because of issues it shouldn't have, but now I'm really, REALLY, glad to see they kept on going, made ...And Death Said Live, one of the best MDM albums I've ever heard, and now this one, which is absolutely amazing as well.
Now finally they've made a long overdue but well deserved video after so many years, and things seem to be looking up for the band. Got the chills when I first saw this, then got excited like a little girl before starting to bang my head like a maniac while listening this for 20 times in a row. Fucking amazing, fucking love these guys.

There is a sense of EPICNESS, of something incredible important is at stake, that is the sense I get when I hear most of MPE music. I was so glad them came back after a long hiatus. THe WOrld Needs MPE!!! Another Great Song!
In Flames was my favourite band until I discovered you way back in 2008, coincidentally with their transition to Pop Metal. I'm very glad that you continue throwing out so good stuff.

"And Death Said Live" lacks some elements of their older albums that I like but now MPE is back in their roots. Such a great song! Their upcoming album will be strong candidate for album of the year award.
btw I feel very fortunate that I've seen MPE playing live 5 or 6 times. They have never made that many gigs or tours but I happen to live in Pori (MPE's hometown). Hoping more gigs in the near future.
Recently discovered these guys, so glad I did. I can definitely hear some influence from "The Absence" in they're playing

I like how they look like they are still playing in their garage lol. Like it feels like they were just walking around town, and one of them just goes "oh this looks like a great place to shoot a video" as they all high five in agreement staring at the abandoned warehouse xD
How did they top thier last album, it's happened! The whole feeling of thier songs with epic symphonics/ pianos in the backround and amazing riffs/breakdowns/solos is so unique, never heard anything like them, they are my favourite MDM band of ALL time, want to see them live more than anything!
Most bands will sell themselves as saying 'We don't really conform to a genre, we're unique f blah blah', for this it's easy guys = 'pure F metal musicianship and writing'; the harmonies from the guitars (and I'm not talking about the solos, they're great too but not what I'm referring to here) - the timing (and power) of the drumming and having a vocalist who can shine not only with his power (at ease I might f say), but his patterns and placement, nothing short of perfection. There truly is something wrong with this world when I see millions of hits on videos of humans acting like a$$es and yet something like this is uploaded for the world to enjoy.
I've been doing vocals for over a decade now and I always practice along to a playlist when I do so. You guys made me do something I haven't done in years, simply sit back, listen and give respect. I've learn't the vocals and patterns and every time I play the track to practice to, I cannot help but shut up and listen and enjoy.

Raccoon Yeah, that track blasts you away. The Unborn was my favourite album until And Death Said Live came out. MPE is a rare band where each album they make is better than the previous (Although I personally doubt they will ever surpass Pure). I'm not sure if you know, but before their latest album came out, 2 of their main guitarists quit the band. A lot of people feared that this band would never return to glory. In my opinion, they only came out stronger and I know a lot of people were damn pleased with ADSL. I seriously am 100% convinced that this new album will be incredible.

New guitarist meshes really well. This shit is so freaking good. MPE is so consistent and every album gets progressively better. I can't imagine ...and death said live being outdone but it sounds that way so far. MPE better put out some badass prerelease bundles cause I want it all. Oh and come to USA. Cheers from new jersey
