i wanna say thank you, paul for this wonderful serie of rebuilding a truck and sharing your knowlegde with us, the effort the time and the patient explaining everything. it would be nice to have an idea about the running cost (or did i miss it) , but i guess everyone can do this by himself. with all respect - i would prepare the engine for starting after rebuilding different and definetly be more gently in the running-in procedure ... but an expert is an expert. hope this serie continues in some way ... thumbs up👍👍👍
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos. They have reminded me of my early motoring start - rebuilding my much loved 105e Anglia from scratch. This equipped me with the basic mechanical understanding that has served me well during 50 years of wonderful driving experiences. My girlfriend at the time helped bleed the brakes. (A test of any relationship!) Over 40 years later we are still happily married.
Great series. I wish you would have share cost, and timeframe to do all the work. Subscribed and looking forward to other vehicle builds. I hope LC200 is on your list of builds.
Well presented, a lot of common sense and good practice but for those new to this stuff this is invaluable passing on of knowledge & experience. I have seen rebuild projects quickly end in tears with damage and $$$$$ thousands wasted simply because this has been skipped or ignored and no/low oil pressure or coolant leaks have destroyed all the hard work.
Hi Paul.. greetings from West TX! Have you check the lower ball joints? That's a critical item that fails due to the design. Here in the USA, we say 200 K miles with OEM ball joints (Those 555 ball joints will fail in 25K miles). The Prado 90 has the same suspension as the 4Runner /Hilux surf 96-02.
Hi Jan, in episode 5 we assess the upper and lower ball joints and Paul recalls a trip in the US where the lower ball joint failed on a mountain pass, truly scary situation. And in episode 9 we look at the replacement kit supplied by Terrain Tamer that is fitted to the Pado. Thanks for the insightful comment.

As you said oil is the cheapest form of insurance.
Hi Paul,
I would like to know how the 5th gear upgrade has affected fuel consumption. Real life testing
