I started tailoring my clothes over a year ago because of your vids. Thank you. I learned the hard way that tshirts need a zig zag stitch.

Why would anyone hate someone who makes videos like this? If there is anyone in the internet fauna who deserves all the appreciation and gratitude in the world, it is the people who teach and help others. So many things are wrong in the world and there are fools hating someone who makes tutorials.

Your one of my favorite channels on youtube since i found you, my sewing machine broke right after i sewed my first garment and was about to start my binge. Regardless you been an awesome teacher for how to sew. I found your reddit when i was looking through a few old post on a tailoring subreddit was cool to see. Also would you ever make a video on how to alter the waist on suit/dress pants?

Very, very, very, very hard to imagine anyone hating your videos. Or a big Black guy making sewing videos. Or learning how to make clothes fit better. But, I guess if that's where they're going to focus the hate in their life, probably nothing to do about it. Except hand them a sewing machine and one of their ill-fitting clothes and show them how to do it. They'll get real happy real fast.
Anyhoo. . .as for sewing over pins. My suggestion to anyone who wants to do that?-- go ask your nearest sewing repair shop. If they are ethical, they will shrink back in horror and tell you that is the worst possible thing you can do to your machine. Or if they have their eye on a trip to Spain, they will tell you to please go ahead, and sew over as many pins as possible, and then tell all your friends to do that, and then bring in all those machines for expensive repairs, to, you know, fund that trip to Spain.

I cannot begin to imagine the low level existence of someone who shows hate to a person making helpful videos. It boggles the mind. My man is a "big black guy" that was on every sports team in high school but who also took sewing and made himself a dashiki. I doubt he's sewn anything since because he just asked me to sew a button back on for him.

It’s nice to feel my clothing actually touch my back. I was explaining how women experience this pretty much their whole lives, men not so much lol
    Great stories as usual 👍🏾
Quick question did you make a video on shortening the hem of a button down shirt?

Was looking for videos for a friend interested in sewing projects and found you!
I never had interest in fixing my big shirts to my body type as I would just cut them into sleeveless because I lack skill in sewing! Until now!!
It’s crazy how you just made sewing interesting to me. Thank you!

I don't know if this comment is too on the nose, but, I really appreciate a muscular man teaching me how to sew what I want to wear.
Much better than... sorry, but, the "cutesy/everyone is special" mom/preschool teacher talk I get from most sewing channels.
P.s. Thanks for the "straight to the point" lack of fluff. No 10 min intro for a 3min tutorial.

I would LOVE to see you TRY to hit the dress pin with a sewing needle and break it..
It's a rounded shaft being stabbed by a needle. It's going to go on one side or the other.

And I will be using them to encourage my son to take up a Hobby such as this thank you for not letting the heat stop you! We really need more black men that will not allow society to form them but instead they will lead the way!!!

I noticed your brown leather shoes on one of your videos. Your should invest in a can of polish. Your tailoring is in point and your shoes could use a little work. There are shoe polish tutorials here on TH-cam.
A can can last years and it's cheap.
Another option for those who can't afford genuine leather shoes for work: Thrift stores have gently used dress shoes for around $10. In better areas they often have more expensive options for the same low price.
