I'm still kinda disappointed that the terminal never explained why the Jackals tried to sterilize the grunts. They had a reason beyond just beef. The Grunts' growing populations forced Jackals to have to move out of some districts, and the stress on them from that caused a lotta eggs to not hatch. So they said "If we can't have kids, you can't have kids." It ain't justified, but it's still more than just "Fuck you."
They didn't show it in this compilation but during the Sacred Icon scene when the Phantom flies in, there's a part where it's flying backwards for no reason in one clip, then immediately flying straight in the next scene.
About High Charity: the ship is 505 km long and 348 km in diameter. The Dreadnought ship is the pyramid-like structure in the middle of High Charity, it is a forerunner ship the Prophets managed to get working and that ship is used as a power source for High Charity (yes, a single forerunner dreadnought can power such a big ship as High Charity). At the beginning of Halo 2 you have the Arbiter betrayed by the Prophets who want to go to their next life, and John once again fighting The Flood, and the only way to stop Halo from unleashing the Flood everywhere is to go to the Ark. The best part of them is how they actually get more scary the more you learn about them both in story and gameplay. Usually the horror monsters get less scary the more you know, but here you learn all this horrible stuff like infected victims are fully conscious but trapped in their own head, the Flood can not only coordinate strategies but also repair ships, and their brain is an ancient eldrich being who can reason with other characters to the point in 3 hrs willing to put aside his own agenda to help Arby and Chief take out Truth since only Chief can stop the rings from firing.

It'd never happen, but I kind of wish MS would shell out to have Blur CGI-ify Halo 1 and 3 cut-scenes. There's a huge difference in art style across the games, so even without full remasters, it'd be cool to just have a series of movie-style cut scenes across the trilogy to point to and say "this is what everything canonically looks like"
Here's the thing about Johnson. He's immune to the Flood. He was holding the line for his squad to retreat and cracked open a crate of captured Plasma Grenades and just started chucking them two at a time to a horde so close that he was juuust in the splash zone, like a massive badarse. The repeated close quarters blasts caused irreparable damage to his nervous system. When the Flood got him in CE, he was basically a broken outlet they were plugging into, and he had to yank the fuckers tentacle out of his body.
I think you'd find a lot of the Destiny lore interesting, especially like how the Hive have culturally turned violence, betrayal, and genocide into formal acts of communication and even affection.

It's been fun seeing Woolie experience the Halo games for the first time. With how bad they got after Reach and the oversaturation of shitty Halo clones that came afterward, I forgot how amazing the Bungie developed Halos were.
I actually liked 4’s concept and story (it wasn’t without problems) and I liked the Promethean enemy types. But 5 really dropped the ball in almost all categories. Halo wars 2 however is my favorite halo game outside the main trilogy

I do feel Woolie has one fatal flaw in his stunted understanding of zealotry and faith. Stupidity does not equate to zealotry. One can be zealous in their belief to the point where "just talk" literally CAN NOT WORK. Not due to the zealous being stupid, but due to the very fact they are zealous. Maybe him having grown up solely in the west makes this harder for him since he never experienced true zealotry. But, just talk isn't an option with certain people, because their belief is so much more powerful than anything else. Logic doesn't even come into question, it's a discussion that goes beyond intelligence. When someone builds their entire existence and identity upon their Zealotry, to break from that takes a will of power unseen in most beings. Because to accept that the truth completely destroys all they had built their identity around, all their sacrifices and actions, that can kill some people. That's what true Zealotry is. The Arbiter could never have just talked with the heretic, because his shame for his failure compounded with his zealous belief in the covenant would make it impossible. The same way Tartarus could never have just talked, not because he's stupid, there are many Brutes in the lore that are quite intelligent. But because the entire identity of his people was built upon their faith in the covenant and the great journey. There was no other alternative.
ya know, the moment with the INFAMOUSLY BAD voice acting also shows that you can NUKE a city with the ship's jump drives so why ever send ground troops unless your going in to get something?

Halo 3 20th birthday is in 2027 so it's possible we get a remaster. For CE we would have to wait either it's 25th b-day in 2026 or 30th in 2031.

It's been fun seeing Woolie experience the Halo games for the first time. With how bad they got after Reach and the oversaturation of shitty Halo clones that came afterward, I forgot how amazing the Bungie developed Halos were.
I actually liked 4’s concept and story (it wasn’t without problems) and I liked the Promethean enemy types. But 5 really dropped the ball in almost all categories. Halo wars 2 however is my favorite halo game outside the main trilogy

I do feel Woolie has one fatal flaw in his stunted understanding of zealotry and faith. Stupidity does not equate to zealotry. One can be zealous in their belief to the point where "just talk" literally CAN NOT WORK. Not due to the zealous being stupid, but due to the very fact they are zealous. Maybe him having grown up solely in the west makes this harder for him since he never experienced true zealotry. But, just talk isn't an option with certain people, because their belief is so much more powerful than anything else. Logic doesn't even come into question, it's a discussion that goes beyond intelligence. When someone builds their entire existence and identity upon their Zealotry, to break from that takes a will of power unseen in most beings. Because to accept that the truth completely destroys all they had built their identity around, all their sacrifices and actions, that can kill some people. That's what true Zealotry is. The Arbiter could never have just talked with the heretic, because his shame for his failure compounded with his zealous belief in the covenant would make it impossible. The same way Tartarus could never have just talked, not because he's stupid, there are many Brutes in the lore that are quite intelligent. But because the entire identity of his people was built upon their faith in the covenant and the great journey. There was no other alternative.
